LFT POS 1/2 11k+

Hey all!

Was inspired by the post I saw the other week and thought I'd try my luck. A little about myself: I am a super ambitious player from Canada, I speak Russian, English, French and Spanish fluently, so I can gel and communicate well with a wide variety of teammates. I am in my last year of high school, hoping to make something of this Dota thing before having to go to uni.

Honestly, I want to find literally any team to improve with and play in Tier 2/ Tier 3 tournaments. maybe even make some money.

I am young, hardworking, and most of all, driven. I lead a healthy lifestyle working out daily, but I think about Dota almost every second of the day. I'd like to think I'm compassionate and understanding and can bring a positive vibe and a winning mindset to any team I'm on.

If you have any further questions at all, wish to discuss anything, or check out my dotabuff, please, don't hesitate to DM me. Hope to hear from you.

If you’re not Immortal Yet, Just log out

Let me be perfectly clear, if you’re 6 years into Dota and you haven’t reached immortal yet, just stop. Uninstall. Log out. Or go back to your league of legends where you belong.

Dota isn’t about “fun”. it’s about dominance. It’s about proving that you are a superior being who deserves to stand above the unwashed masses of casuals who think 25 mmr for winning a game is impressive. If you’re still scrambling around in archon or legend, you’ve already lost. I don’t make the rules. I do enforce them with my flawless proficiency however.

In these six years, I’ve ascended to what might as well be godhood. Immortal rank, every game meticulously played, and my heroes (of which I've spent the last month preparing in advance) played with the precision of a surgeon. Meanwhile, I see these peasants fumbling around, fighting each other in herald or chatting around while not even grinding like it’s 2012.

The sheer audacity to even log in and pretend you’re playing the same game as me is mind-boggling. You’re not. You’re just a background NPC while I'm the star of the show stunning everyone with my superhuman leaderboard climb.

If you’re not playing 16 hours a day, why are you even here? Dota isn’t for casuals, it’s for winners. I can already hear the excuses from the lower ranks: “But hey, I’m just playing for fun!” Wrong. There is no fun in mediocrity. There is no joy in logging in every day to be reminded of how far behind you are.

The only fun in Dota is crushing every peasant beneath your ornamented boots, climbing the leaderboard, and watching the plebs scramble to pick up the crumbs of progress you leave behind. If you’re not playing to win, then you’re wasting everyone’s time. Your participation means nothing unless it’s to serve as a comparison to highlight my greatness.

So once again: The truth is, if you’re not already at immortal, you’ve lost. You don’t have the mindset, the discipline, or the sheer genius it takes to compete at the top. And no, you can’t recover from this. Dota is a sprint, not a marathon. The gap between the elite olympians like me and the bottom-feeding "special" olympians like you grows exponentially with each passing hour.

Major dota technical issues

Hiya, Have taken my pc back to the parents place for Christmas and dota seemingly didn't survive the journey? Menus are incredibly laggy, usually crashing after opening options menu or doing anything really. Have tried usual troubleshooting - driver updates, verifying ect. Very strange issue as all that has changed is my monitor, and I'm not sure how this could even cause these issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is anyone tracking Nest of Thorns high scores? Valve please keep this game around!

Has anyone started something on speedrun.com or something to track who holds the highest score in Nest of Thorns?

Should just require to list what patch it was on, and what upgrades that person has.

I beat E7, but I haven't broken a million, but maybe I'll do a few more runs after I get enough tokens to finish the main upgrades.

I just hope valve keeps this game around or expands it.

Lotus Pool's first spawned Lotus is hidden

Not sure if this is intended but just a minor gripe for me-

The first lotus spawns on the far left (or right) hand side of the lotus pool which results in it being masked by the fountain centerpiece. I might be the most lazy dota 2 player but this means you have to move the camera all the way left (or right) of the pool to see around the statue and if the lotus is even still there.

Since the pathing takes you to the nearside anyway, wouldn't it make more sense for the lotus to spawn there?

Image for clarity

thank u for considering, ^also thank you for crownfall it was absolutely amazing and i love you valve <3

Can you undo it valve?

https://preview.redd.it/fne9qgkb5p4e1.png?width=473&format=png&auto=webp&s=29547fc2d7a73147ed7ce9fb20d3b9c7ef0f5be0

At this point I don't understand, why this has been added to DotA, while we now have shrter controll from buttons of heroes and the duration of hex.
upd.: I mean only undoing it from strength and agility based heroes.

Can I unfuck my account or do I start over?

I'm trying to get into the game again after a few years. My communication score is under 6000 so I can't talk with anyone and my queues for all pick are all 10-15 minutes. Is it possible to get out of griefer's queue or should I just make a new steam account?

Dark Anima

{A short story based on Dark Willow}

She almost smiled.

When facing death, everyone has a unique expression. Darion, the highest-ranking member of the Iron Fog’s Chapter of the Assassin’s Guild, had seen four hundred and forty-one such expressions. It was codified to look a contract in the eyes before delivering a killing blow.

Darion believed, as did most professional merchants of death did, that Death was a kind of deliverance.

Yet, the number one assassin of Iron Fog bore the fatal flaw of hubris. This defect was redeemed when he accepted a contract to kill Dark Willow, a Fae of the Shadow Realm.

The trap was perfect, or so he had thought. When his venomed blade was a hair’s width from her throat, that hint of a smile hesitated his hand. Mystery lay behind those fae eyes, she had ensnared him.

Unable to complete his contract, Darion knew he would be stripped of his title, his purpose, and the privileges. The jarring fall from grace left a bitter taste.

Now, he casts a wary glance at his new employer. Mireska Seabreeze, the Dark Willow herself, radiated mischief and charm far more vividly than the terror-stricken expression on her wanted poster.

They moved together through the Iron Fog merchant district: Darion on foot, Mireska levitating beside him, as he pulled down her likeness from the walls, lampposts and the occasional street vendor. This small act of rebellion drew curious eyes.

Iron Fog was a maze of thieves, mercenaries, and cutthroats. The Fields of Endless Carnage south across the sea had transformed this once unheard-of backwater port into a booming city, as unregulated manufacturers churned to meet the demand for arms and bodies.

Yet within the chaos and pollution, small islands of civility thrived. As they moved deeper into the city, the streets grew cleaner, the shadows sharper under gas lamps. Trash was nonexistent, as if litter even feared loitering. The cleanliness signifying that they crossed an invisible border into the Assassin’s Guild’s territory, where unseen sentries watched their every move.

Darion’s unease grew, his skin prickling at the familiar scent of these bleach-cleaned cobblestones. This had been his home for seven seasons. His home no longer. When they reached the marble columns holding up the glass-domed roof of the Assassin’s Guild, he hesitated, knowing full well the ruthless killers who resided within.

Mireska sighed, reading his discomfort like a book. “Must everything be about terror?” This inference was more a veiled threat that sent a rapid chill through his spine. For an ancient Fae’s curse does not rely on physical fear or pain, rather it involved a severance that sacred cord of meaning and purpose.

“No killing?” he asked, almost pleadingly. Many friends: well not exactly friends, more like co-workers really, lay behind those solid tall walls.

Mireska paused and floated midair. Her predatorial golden eyes held onto Darion for an uncomfortable amount of time. Questioning his newfound loyalty. She dismissed these concerns with a flick of her shimmering wings. “I only want to know who paid for the contract on my life. Simple as that. I won’t kill anyone,” she said, her eyes gleaming as she lifted her lantern. “But I never speak for Jex.”

She referred fondly to the creature confined within her lantern. Jex was, slightly more chaos than a creature, an agent of entropy caught after gorging itself too excess off a local dying supernova in the shadow realm. Mireska’s so-called pet had limited intelligence yet remained deeply attuned to her voice. Beams of light strobed out from the lantern, as if in anticipation.

“Perhaps I can sneak you in,” Darion offered in the hopes to limit the chances of Jex’s release upon his poor coworkers. “Through my shadow. Perhaps?” Demonstrating an advanced understanding of her abilities from his thorough research to murder her.

The fae almost smiled again at the plan. Normally males, especially human males, would be quite trouble at the thought of integration with feminine nature.

She began to dissipate and, yet somehow, intensified at the same time. Unseen currents swelling. It felt like ice thawing on his skin, as she slipped into his shadow. Her voice reverberates across his mind, as she swims among his streams of awareness.

Again, he felt that rush of awe that can only be found witnessing that infinite enigma beyond his solipsistic life.

Darion approached the gate with his usual swagger, flashing a grin at the guards he once called comrades. But something was different.

“You’re under arrest,” one guard said flatly, leveling his spear.

“Or to be killed on sight,” added the other, his voice colder than steel.

They know. Mireska spoke and conveyed understanding quicker than his own subconsciousness.

His trained body reacted instinctually. Ducking cleanly beneath a spear thrust, he swept the first guard’s legs out from under him, then sprang up to meet the second guard.

The second guard had not hesitated. Darion was nearly spitted by the spear thrust. Sparks flew as the guard’s spearpoint gouges deeply into Darion’s spider-silk armor.

Passing the blow under his arm, Darion closes the distance, striking with a sharp palm strike to the throat.

Behind you. Mireska’s voice brushed his thoughts.

Without hesitation and without looking, he spun, delivering a heel hook to the first guard’s jaw and knocking him unconscious. The fight was over in seconds, but his mind lingered on Mireska.

Lust for power stirs dangerous magic in men’s blood and the flow state from the shadow integration had heightened his own formidable abilities. Darion felt an unsettling hunger for something he couldn’t define.

With the guards being neatly dispatched, they entered the palatial Assassin’s Guild of Iron Fog. Once inside they were confronted by a large surreal, escheresque hall where corkscrew corridors twisted into impossible loops as stairways spiraled into imaginary angles. Here magic saturated physics. The walls were shifting mirrors that distorted reality, meant to confuse.

“They’ve changed the layout,” Darion muttered, scanning the labyrinth for traps. “Half of these paths are illusions. The other half… well, the assassins do love their games.”

Mireska ran her fingers along the nearest glowing wall, her gaze distant. “I grew up in a place like this.” Her eyes, luminous and otherworldly, seemed to see in layers far beyond his perception. “Prisons within prisms.”

He hesitated. “How did you escape?”

Her face twisted itself wickedly, somewhat demonic, more akin to the horror of her wanted poster. “We burned it to the ground. Of course, of course” Turning to Darion with a feverish glee and raising her lantern. “Alrite Jex! Go have some fun.”

Darion felt a blue flash, as Jex rippled into spacetime. The chaotic creature streaked through the halls like a fiery comet, setting traps ablaze and scattering the assassins hidden throughout.

The mansion warped and its illusions faltered under the dominance of Jex’s disorder.

Ignoring the reign of terror surrounding, “There!” Darion shouted after spotting a narrow sliver of a staircase remaining salient and stable. They dashed up the stairwell. At the top of the stairs, Mireska deftly unlocks the door with the skill of a seasoned Revtel thief.

Inside, they found a red oak desk of the Assassin’s Guild Master.

There Mireska found was she was looking for, her eyes darkening at the signed assassination contract for her death. A scent of nightshade fluttered off her wings as her frown bent at the name scrawled at the bottom. “Jasper again…”

Then and there, the ward beneath the desk activated. An orb of light exploded ringing tinnitus in the air. Mireska began to shift into the Shadow Realm, but the trap was specialized snare designed for just such a fae. Holding fast, drowning her senses in a suffocating overload.

Without hesitation, Darion drew his blade, his heart racing as he slashed at the orb’s center. He felt the electric bite of the ward’s magic, a searing pain frayed his nerves and blew sparks across his armor. His jaw locked from the taste of burnt lemons. But he pressed on, striking again and again until the trap shattered.

Mireska staggered free, gasping for breath. Her wide eyes gave Darion a look of gratitude before turning into more salient details. “We’re not done,” Regaining her composure and after a period of contemplation, “Looks like one can’t escape one’s past. Time to be trouble.”

“Good luck,” said Mireska, her large golden eyes split into scanning the other dimensions. A twinkle of mischievousness returns as an idea germinates in her mind.  She handed the lantern caging Jex to Darion. The violence of Jex’s fury almost shook the lantern free as constant shaking weight threatens to break both of Darion’s hands.  “He could use a trainer. He’s getting a bit unruly.”

Darion raises an eyebrow and prays for a calmer period as his arms weaken. “A trainer?”

“Yes.” Brusquely ending the line of questioning. Then with a comical low bow and in her finest brogue she offers, “Now what do you say to finding a pub and starting a fight. I could use a drink.”

He almost smiles.
