I know the OEM roof rack is not allowed to be fitted to the roof of the v8 models of the new defender, but Iβm wondering if anyone has done this anyway. Have you seen any issues from the rack?
Hi. My starter motor just failed on Defender 110 D240 2020. The product number for the item is L8B2-11001-BC. They are really hard to get a hold of, at least in Europe (Slovenia). Can someone explain if the starter motor for the Jaguar E-Pace would be an alternative? The product number is L8D2-11001-BB.
I will eventually get the OEM one, but the waiting times are a couple of months for the OEM one.
Thanks in advance.
I was driving down the highway today and this happened.
I wanted to know if I can repair this crack on my own using a windshield repair kit or shall I take it to dealer for repair or replacement.
If I can do it by my self any recommendation on the repair kit ?
Location: US Crack size: 5.5 - 6 inches
I can't tell what this cable is supposed to plug into. This is under the rigid foam of where the spare tire tools go.
I'm looking for people with recent experience with Arkonik - good or bad. We ordered our custom defender years ago and still don't have it.
Hello,
I recently purchased 2025 Defender 110 X-Dynamic and I am loving it so far.
I didn't get side steps and mud flaps when I ordered it, but it seems like it's a must-have. (especially the side steps to prevent door dings LOL)
The dealer quoted me $2800 for side steps and $600 for mud flaps (parts + installation fee) which seems INSANE. They claim they charge $400/hr for labor so I am looking at the individual shops to get them installed.
I was curious if it's ok to buy OEM parts from the dealership and take it to the individual shop to get it installed and pay only the labor? This is because the nearby dealership sells OEM parts w/ 15-18% discount (not sure if the indi shop can order it w/ less price).
Also, would installing OEM accessories from non-dealership void any warranty?
Thanks!
Where can I find system like this for Defender 110 ??

Iβm on the hunt for options to replace the rear seats in a defender 90. Also applies to the third row in the 110. What options are out there? Mainly looking to be able to recline a bit more because the stock ones are very upright. They donβt have to be able to swing out of the way and could be fixed permanently if we can get an engineer to sign off the mods. But any suggestions are welcome.
Iβm looking to build a 2025 defender 110, and saw the trail pack is not an option if choosing the p500 engine. What up with that?
hey guys, I got my first land rover defender 110 p400e (2023) 2 weeks ago. Obviously had a ghost immobiliser fitted instantly no issues whatsoever for 2 weeks. Up until 2 days ago, I unlocked my doors via the Land Rover app on my iPhone.
The following morning, I went to get into my car, usual procedure, unlocked, press start, enter pin for the ghost, then press brake and start and away I go...however now it doesn't at all. It goes to start and then seizes power like it shuts down.
Now obviously me checking everything possible, whether I had a dead battery, no fuel, no charge on my EV, all of that was fine. Land Rover roadside assistance told me on the phone it could be a dead battery issue.
HERE IS WHERE IT GETS WEIRD. On the Land Rover iPhone App, I'm able to start the car up using the "Climate Change" option, get into the car, enter my pin for my ghost, put it in gear and I'm able to drive away no issues whatsoever until I turn the car off and have to repeat?!
Absolutely bonkers, I had the technician for my ghost immobiliser come and see if this was an issue with the ghost, he disconnected it, same thing happened even without the ghost.
Has anyone got any ideas what could be causing this issue?
For anyone who has had the thought of getting out of their defender and into a new Landcruiser. You already have the better vehicle, don't bother.
Myself and my wife just had a phone call that our Landcruiser that we had on order to replace our 110 ( we figured maybe the LC would be a better own long term) just arrived and we could go test drive it. We did, and all we can say is that it was a hugh disappointment. We've been in our 110 for 3 years, love it. Haven't had a single issue. But as mentioned above, we figured maybe the Landcruiser would be a solid investment for a vehicle that we can keep for the next 10+ years. It probably would be, however it's not even close to the quality, ride, comfort and space as our current defender. We found the hybrid system to be a complete annoyance, we were constantly aware that it was working behind the scenes. We found the engine noise in the cabin to be quite loud, and the ride was ridiculously rough and bouncy.
The materials inside felt sub par, and for a vehicle that size it felt super cramped and small inside (I'm 6'1" wife is 5ffa)
I was really expecting more from the LC and I was a little disappointed with what it is, however it made me feel soooo much better about our decision to buy the 110 in the first place. Looks like we will be keeping the defender long term (let's see how reliable it really will be)
I'm not saying the Landcruiser is a terrible vehicle, it would be an amazing choice if we were coming out of anything besides the Defender, but for a $103k CAD vehicle, it better wow the socks off me, and it didn't.
TLDR: Defender - YAY Landcruiser NAY.
Thanks for coming to my talk.
I am now the proud owner of er of a 1995 Defender 110. I drive it regularly to work and need to show ID to the base guard. Since I am in the US and my Defender is right hand drive I have to wind the passenger side window down manually every time to show my ID.
So I bought an electric window upgrade kit and went to install. Opened up the door panel and there is no room to fit the electric motor without cutting up a perfectly good inner door panel.
My question is: will the later inner door panel that has the cut out for the electric window motor fit inside the early door? I see a couple of differences but overall looks very similar. Anyone out there done this conversion or has some advice for me would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 2024 P300 S - Pangea green w white top :) - that came w the 20β five spoke alloys. I want to add 18β steelies but understand that the current brakes are too big and would need to be replaced. Has anyone had or success or difficulties w this? Seems like it would be straight forward, but Iβm not mechanically inclined.
Iβm considering getting a 2025 Defender 110 X Dynamic SE, and ordering one through the dealer to have all the specs I want. The dealer stated that there is no negotiation on price when ordering oneβ¦and I canβt tell if they are bluffing or if this is a common policy. Has anyone recently negotiated prices on a newly ordered defender?
Looking at a new set of tyres for my defender and deciding to switch sizes from 285/75r16 to 255/85r16, this has limited my options for tyres a lot but Iβve come down to either the Yokohama geolander MT or BFG km3. Just wondering if anyone runs these tyres in this size and what they think of them, my biggest worry about the BFGβs is that they run smaller than advertised, my current Ko2βs when measured are barley 32β tall
Please help.
So today I decided to change the diff oils on my 97 300tdi. Without hesitation, I threw in 80w90 and called it a day. I took it around the block on a test drive and could hear a very faint rumble when coasting to a stop.
I got home, checked the fluid containers, and realized it was GL5. I have since drained the fluid and left it draining in my driveway until I can acquire GL4 tomorrow morning.
Will GL5 hurt the diffs after only being driven about a half mile and then dumped? And how do I flush the GL5 out completely?
Does anyone know of in vehicle safe for handguns that fits somewhere in a 2023 Defender 130? Iβm not entirely picky on the location of said safe but want it somewhere in near the front.
Thanks!
Does anyone have any experience with painting what I believe to be original fenders on the defenders?
Can it hold paint? Or crack after a trip or so?
Thanks ππ½
I've long been a big fan of Land Rover (Defenders in particular). I'm considering doing a trip covering large swathes of Africa. Reliability is everything, and I'm curious if anybody would β in good faith β recommend Land Rovers. As far as I can tell, very few militaries or international aid organizations use Land Rovers anymore. The de-facto standard seems to be the Toyota Land Cruiser (United Nations, Doctors without Borders, Red Cross, special forces, list goes on).
Does anyone have any thoughts? I'm all for following my heart, but I also need to be sensible. While Iβm still early in planning, itβs going to involve both very remote areas, as well as potentially areas requiring caution (night travel not recommended). I do not want to break down.
i used to look around their website and suddenly they shut down. itβs a shame because they were the defender workshop that attracted me the most because they were low priced and also very good looking. what happened?
Greetings all,
Has anyone ever attempted to install and retrofit the windscreen to be a drop top?:
Is this a nightmare? My 94 ST D90 has the roll cage.. but damn does this not look amazing to me:

I would be willing to forgo the role cage if i CAN get 5% near looking this good.

Looking to buy this 1993 Defender 90. Appreciate your thoughts on the rust situation. Apologies for these horrible pics. Many thanks.
