A community dedicated to Kubera, a Korean webtoon by Currygom.
Kubera was gifted a god's name. Normally this isn't an issue, but something happened to the God Kubera. With her village destroyed on her 16th birthday, she assumes an alias, Leez, and flees with her rescuer Asha Rahiro, a powerful magician. Naïve Leez is forced to navigate between twisted fates and conniving schemers. Ever the optimist, she will carve out her own destiny somehow.

Let's just assume that Kubera will get an anime adaptation someday with UNLIMITED budget because of a multimillionaire fan. So, what do you guys thinks about the following questions:
If not, which part will you cut?
Are there any corrections/improvements that you can suggest?
Do you think there will be any problems in adapting it?
Should the prologue be adapted?
Which studios or a collaboration of studios is best for this adaptation?
Any preferred voice cast?
What about sura speech, how will they show it to the viewers?
Number of chapters/episode?
For me,
Yes definitely.
Make it a bit more Action oriented. Use Season 3 artstyle from the beginning. No censorship.
Explain the lore/ magic system a bit more at the beginning for casual watchers.
If we use webtoons approach by colouring the subtitles then how will they show it in dub and raw?
Yes it should be adapted as an introduction in the start of 1st episode before opening song.
My favorite studio collaboration:
1> Kyoto animation for character development and emotional parts.
2> Ufotable for action and fights.
3> Production IG for World Building parts.
4> MYTH & ROID for opening and ending songs as well as OSTs.
Takahashi Rie as Leez because I think she can imitate Leez's innocence, cuteness and her emotions accurately.
Already answered in 3rd question.
2 chapters/episode.
Feel free to add any more questions as well as suggestions to this topic and please do not say that Kubera will NEVER receive an anime adaptation in your answers since this is a WHAT IF scenario.
I am at the end of the other side of season 3, right when Ran, Maruna and his sister enter into the "time" place. Maruna and Sagara are talking about the future or present, I'm starting to lose track. The part that is confusing me is Maruna talking about meeting Sagara in the future. From my memory Maruna does not talk to Sagara until after they come back to N23, unless I am mistaken.
So unless they met off screen then I am confused right now. I don't understand how Maruna is talking about events that have not happened before.
Has anyone thought of ways to popularize the webtoon?
Are there any good summaries explaining what Kubera is about, in the sense if I wanted to recommend it to someone how would I get across how good it is
We can assume that this is something that will eventually happen, right? but how, when, and why?
Has someone thought about this scene? (Season 2 chapter 29, when the hoti yama spell thing on Leez)
Quite a lot of manhwa and novels are getting anime adaptations recently, like Solo Leveling, Beginning after the end, True Beauty, Lord of the Mysteries and Omniscient reader's viewpoint. Any hopes for Kubera getting an anime?
I'm going to parrot off what Tierra said and what I read on the wiki on the Finite novel. Basically, >!>!Ian had apparently nearly died a bunch of times when she was shagging it out with Taksaka and Vishnu had patched her up every time it happened!<.
Similarly Lucina, who is the female lead of The Dragon King's Bride which is a controversial manhwa for romanticizing the abusive and borderline pedophilic relationship between Lucina and Hakan aka the dragon king and the racist portrayal of poc, also nearly died from sex cause apparently, sex and getting knocked up by a dragon is pretty dangerous for women since they can straight up die if their bodies are not compatible. Lucina survived both because she had extraordinary healing magic.
Now that I think of it, both Finite and Dragon King's Bride have incredibly similar premises: both Lucina and Ian are dainty fair skinned women and both of their homes were destroyed by their love interests: Hakan burned down Lucina's castle cause her step brother had raided his tribe's tombstones and demanded Lucina's hand in marriage exchange while Taksaka (who was actually a disguised Vritra at that time) nuked Ian's village.
My favourite aspects of this story which is larger-than-life are its foreshadowing scenes, complexities of emotions and right in the prologue from the start where (I think if I remember right) it was stated how everyone is a victim of sorts. After having read the story from the start again, I do know that Brahma as a Primeval God is not trustworthy and does not really understand her own creations. It feels that she has no emapthy and is very narcissistic in her ideals, to the extent that she wants to use the power of Ananta to destroy the current universe.
I have a feeling that the Vishnu before the Cataclysm did cherish the universe. I do not believe that he was twisted from the start. I think Brahma and Kali/both had something to do with making Vishnu give up on the future of the current universe. The Vishnu that appeared in front of Asha (N5, Carte) was definitely a twisted Vishnu. It could have been Kali as well. The Vishnu that appeared in front of Menaka (who was Kali in hiding) resulting in Menaka taking on the sins of Gandharva was a stunning revelation. It could also be, and this is a hypothesis, that Kali was in cahoots with Vishnu. Since Vishnu is someone, who is all aware of all 'possibilities'.
I am curious about the real names of Maruna, Kalavinka and Yuta. I think Maruna's name has something to do with Garuda's name. And did Kalavinka take the name of Aruna ? Asura says so during the battle in N23 in the Sura Realm waged to kill Yuta, when she shields Maruna. Yuta and Leez's journey together has been phenomenal. They have grown around each other so much. Their chemistry with each other is intense. The angst between them is incredible and adds on to the story arc. Whenever I think about them, I think about the times they have sacrificed for the universe. I think about the times they have had to break each other's heart. I think about the times they have had to be apart from each other. Their love and care for each other is so strong that it transcends all possibilities of universes.
Maruna's character development is simply mind blowing and incredible. It has been such a fulfilling arc. It has surprised and impressed me in so many ways. I have felt so proud of this character and at the same time, I do believe that he has the responsibility to shoulder the sins he has committed over his lifetime. His time spent with Rao Leez and how the story skyrocketed even more is stunning. I loved how Ran and Maruna have interacted with many beings across different 'times'. I love the side stories that the author gives us. Yaksha and Jambavan' story. Kinnara and Airavata's story. Vritra and Kinnara's story. Vayu and the ancient human who was his betrothed. The stories revolving Tilda, Saha, Lutz Sairoffe, Ran, Rana and Hanuman. Kubera is one such mega story that houses many more stories inside it, owing to the incredible writing and visionary prowess of the author.
I am rooting for Kubera Leez to win, for the current universe to survive, for Asha to be punished for her sins and to see Brahma and Indra's face fall into despair and defeat. There are many more stunning aspects to this story. Feel free to pitch in more 💛🤍💚

So i saw on twitter someone doing a fanmade playlist for another manga/hwa and i thought it would be funny to made my own version but for Kubera with music that i used in my first reread and my first read + music that i think now can fill good spots in different moments of the series, so i made a thread on twitter with music that i think that will fit very well in a Kubera anime adaptation! (hope that at some point this thread will be filled with official music 😔🙏)
I post this here for someone who can be interested or want to made his own version of it (if you made one send it so i can hear heh)

As the question says, what do full-blooded suras think of halfs? Do they see them as inferior, do they hate them or do they just not care about them?
In season 2 chapter 111 (Last Stand 5), Leez tells Asha and Ran that she kept falling off a cliff until she was able to cast Bhavati Kubera, and that's how she learned it so quickly. After that Asha replies: "In any case, it wasn't the method I suspected, so it's fine now."
So, what do you think was the method that Asha suspected, and why was she more worried about it than Leez repeatedly dying?
