Bam sounds yor in anime its much cooler yk i was disappointed that his name was not yor either way bam fits with his character so i like it
When Baam draws "the line" and says this is my power and this is me, is actually misleding because at that moment when Baam draws the line he actually breaks the spell that kept V's soul sealed away, because of his ability to use the power of all beings inside him, with spell broken he becomes much more powerful because he begins to use the power available to him, the power of V I think this is true because we've seen many times that Baam is able to nullify a spell or curse whenever he touches it, i also think it's true because the moment Baam draws a line he becomes far more powerful,so much more powerful that he can beat data big Z, and there is no reason why he became so much more powerful because of one line.
With Enkidu we saw that he was inside Baam, and that he came out, which means that there is a possibility that something inside the Baam can come out.
What I think will happen is that somehow V will get out of Baam, leaving Baam without the powerful battery that he used until now, and that the new teacher for Baam will be Urek as someone who is irregular, and that he will help him discover his true power and his true self.
What do you guys and girls think?
I personally prefer the line version of all names because that's what I'm used to. I started reading this series in webtoon in 2014, stopped right before the pandemic because I entered college and reread it now. Reading it again, I really liked the names because it just run off the tongue more smoothly like Jahad, Endorsi etc.
She's such interesting character
Yuri, Maschenny, Jinsung Ha, White, Kallavan, Lyboric, Yasratcha, Evankell, Kel Hellam, Dumas.
(((Hyped characters like Kirin or Robadon are out of the list. For example current Yama is a huge question mark atm. We just don’t have enough info to rank properly several powerful characters as such.)))
Mine goes:
Reasoning: Jinsung is one of the best Rankers Ha family has produced, so he should be way above Yuri. He had had a brief exchange with Maschenny, and he lost against Kallavan mostly because he was caught by surprise (if followed by the final blow, he’d have won, so I’d say they’re similar). White > Kallavan.
How’d you rank them?
What does he exactly mean by "to receive the three eye symbol" didn't Jahad wanted Bam dead?
So I was rereading and saw this. I was wondering if different font here implied that Rachel actually meant V and not Baam?
As if she knew V would awaken in Baam and she wanted to reach destination before V awakens. Obviously just reading this before would make you think she just meant here "take me there before Baam gets there". But now it seems like she was saying "Take me there before V awakens".
Am I just overthinking this? Or do you guys think Rachel somehow knew that V will awaken soon?
Anybody have any ideas how to sort out the webtoon app I can't get past the recommendations screen it's just buffering constantly
The lack of Lo Po Bia Elaine screen time.
I can’t be the only one who was hyped to see her return during Last Station. And in the opening chapters of S3 she and Hockney were on Bam’s team. I was excited.
However, we’ve been dealing with the Lo Po Bia Family for the majority of Season 3 and Elaine hasn’t been relevant once. The most we got was L Bozo and Bam talking about her but I think it’s a shame. We don’t even know how Elaine felt fighting against her own Family in the Nest.
I know she’s at Seolhyangwon right now and I can only hope SIU is cooking something with her but I think her absence in the current Saga is a big let down.
I’ll admit I’m biased since she’s in my top 5 favorite characters.
Side note, anyone else notice that Anaak has the same pupils as Traumerei?
I tried, and for the most part I was able to enjoy a good portion of season 2 this far, but I can’t anymore, nothing about the show makes me excited to watch it anymore and I’ll be jumping ship to the webtoon as of today
I took a break near the end of the marriage arc when they're escaping but after binging chapters I got bored up to that point. The pacing isn't bad but isn't great so I wanted to know if there any sign of it ending soon
Never noticed before but since she can’t fly she’s riding Rak lmaooo
So we're all sure that bam came from outsiders the tower right but I noticed something weird when rereading it from the beginning. There's Jahad's crest on the cave's walls.
Hello!
Brand new to the sub and first time posting anywhere on reddit, so please bare with me! I hope you'll find it thought provoking and send you down the same rabbit hole it sent me. 😅
I've recently caught up to the series on WEBTOON after first finding, and binge watching, the anime. After waiting as patiently as possible for new content I've began to start at the beginning with both at the same time! After reading the chapters that cover the first episode and watching it as well, I had a random thought.
When Baam first wields the Black March he is able to gain her power in order to destroy the orb and move on the the Floor of Test. Throughout the Black March's appearance she is noted as 'sexist' and only preferring to give her power to male wielders. However, she appears as a blonde woman who (in my opinion) is eerily similar to Rachel. This is what provoked my rant!
The 13 month series weapons were apparently created as a way to split up the key to go to higher floors. Black March & Green April both have distinct personalities. Could the other 11 weapons have the same distinct types of personalities as well? And if they do, are they based off of the original wielder? This (finally!) brings me to my point.
Could the spirit of the Black March be Arlene Grace? Let's say yes. Her striking similarity to Rachel and Rachel's said 'knowledge' of Arlene and Baam's past has had me wondering if Baam and Rachel may actually be siblings. They seem about the same age, could Rachel be Baam's twin or close sibling? How else would she have found him buried underground?
Thank you to anyone who stuck through my ramble until the end. I would love to hear any other theories on the past, present, or future of TOG!
After months of using Reddit anonymously without an account, not even once did I think that I would have to create an account once again because a manhwa/anime theory pissed me off but man do I hate the growing consensus of Baam being V this whole time or that his power essentially is from V.
Unless his writing skills are affected by SIU's hand-back complications, or sold his soul to anime producers (you guys do understand that the feeling of battles being forced to the point of spectacle is to promote the anime, right? Even Bam saying fuck it yolo to Dumas coincides with the anime's airing), the whole point of Bam's narrative is not to find out who he really is but to overcome his identity and whomever he is destined to be by both fate (prophecy) and circumstance (society, personal relations, tower conditions). Bam's entire archetypal hero's journey isn't to participate in an epic showdown of good and evil or to dismantle the tower's bullshit socio-political structures but to recreate himself in the process of reconciling who he thinks he is and who the world wants him to be.
This is what we've been reading for a decade, right? Not a grand narrative to save the world or become the king of the tower or an axis or what have you but simply a story about knowing one's self. That's what the line is. That's what we read. Why are you guys trying to turn ToG into some generic shonen trash. If you want a shonen precedent, why don't you guys stop comparing this to Naruto-Kurama or Yuji-Sukuna. ToG isn't as shallow and half-assed. A more fitting comparison would be what Hollow Ichigo was to Ichigo, that is, Hollow Ichigo as a part of Ichigo that he rejects and even is afraid of but nevertheless a part of him. Ichigo was fucking traumatized of himself, of what he's capable of, of how far that side of him was from his image of who he was. He is in anguish despite the world demanding him to pick up his sword. It took us decades and hundreds of episodes just to arrive to the point in which he has reconciled the conflicting parts of himself. Also, if you've watched Bleach, every single battle isn't just a battle of who's stronger or who's more correct, every single battle is a moment of self-actualization, and the same goes for Baam (see White & Kallavan). I could go on longer but I already made my point. SIU deserves better readers. One could even argue the evident Nietzschean themes at work here, ubermensch, amor fati, and so on.
You guys are like the very reason Gege came to hate and sabotage JJK smh
Hey, I have been reading the webtoon for a while Im around season 2 episode 158 #238, and I have heard alot of people complaining about the webtoon translation not being accurate before season 3 and recommending switching to fan translations, and have also seen people with the opposite opinion. Would you guys recommend me to switch to fan translation for the rest of season 2 or just continue with the webtoon app?
A couple of months ago I thought we would easily have a long story before us but now I'm not so sure anymore. The power scaling was just crazy, and I don't know how we can go back to less than FH fighting rn. Of course there's still 8 other FHs and Jahad and possibly some climbing beyond floor 135, but do you think we're near the finale? At what % finished of the story are we? I'd say like we're in the last third with the current pace.
Saw while scrolling just now. Don't care for Fortnite but love TOG.
Bam has a pretty strong growth curve during s3, but it’s not nearly as large as some people make it out to be. Bam is approaching, if not already, the strength of a high ranker at the start of s3.
He fought pretty evenly with more average rankers (like Pan and that one canine person) but that was while he was restricting himself. From what we saw, in those two instances, he only used his basic skills.
Using Red Thryssa, Shinwonryu, and the thorn fragment allowed him to take off Gado’s leg pretty easily. With the proper setup, he also cut pretty deep into Kallavan’s arm (a lot considering his durability).
I felt this was worth mentioning because when the topic of power scaling gets brought up, I see people believe that Bam had some miraculous jump from Ranker —> High Ranker levels of power at the start of s3.
How do y'all pronounce Traumerei's name?
Trow-merry
or
Trau-mer-ai
I say the first one
Hey Tog readers so i have recenly finished ToG and actually opened this account solely for discussing ToG and learning details about it.I want to ask you if you do know any Manga/Manhua at the caliber of ToG.I read a good amount of Manga/Manhua's but wasn't able to find anything like Tog so i guess there isn't one?If u have some solid recommendations please let me know.
The global situation outside of the tower is very, very bad. People go to the tower, because they believe the tower will bring them power. Power that will break them free from their miserable lifes. But they can't get in any more since Zahard closed the door. Then Arlene came out of the tower and told her adventures inside the tower. She also told the people about the tyrant Zahard and her prophecy of the one, who will change the tower. A lot of people went to the entrance of the tower to wait for the day the promised one will come. Arlene is dead now since the immortality contract doesn't work outside of the tower, because the administrators of the tower have no power outside the tower. Since her death a whole culture has formed around her tales, her prophecy and the dreams of the people, who live there now.
Rachel was born and raised there. And because dreams and prophecys don't provide food or a good life in general, her childhood was terrible. She was always very normal and the people made it very clear to her, that she is nothing more than replacable. Of course she never accepted that. She wanted to be the promised one.No matter, if it makes sense or not.
And there ends my theory. I don't know, how she thought, that her time to enter the tower has come, or how she learned about Bam. But I think she wanted to kill him before she met him.
I cannot wait until the whole manga is a show and I can force my future wife to watch it all against their will. When I have money to give it will be to the writer of tower of god. As someone who’s read and watched and read more anime/manga than anyone i know it’s a top 5.
Who is your favourite besides Baam?Mine was always Khun and it still is.And after Khun Hansung Yu might be the second.
Hi guys, I've wanted to talk about this for a while now. I know I'm on a TOG subreddit and there are a lot of people here who are passionate about the story. I got you, I was one of them. But unfortunately for me TOG lost all the magic that made this manhwa something outstanding.
To begin with, the power scale got broken as we have seen happen in several shonen we read. Baam became so, so strong that secondary characters lost their importance completely. And about this there are two important things. The first is that Rak, initially designed to be one of the main characters in history, has lost all its relevance. Not only him, but also Wagnan and even Khun—the latter less so because he still excels in some useful roles. The second is the trait and the new characters introduced, as strong or more than our protagonist, who, when they are in the same frame, participate in battles with mega powers and explosions, which has been repeated more with each chapter, as we are seeing with the heads of the ten families.
And then we see another problem. New arcs bring a bunch of new characters that confuse more than they solve and don't add anything to the relevance of the story (forgive me, but I don't care what so-and-so from that family is going to do). TOG missed the opportunity to develop old, well-crafted characters to make room for arcs that go on too long and have uninteresting conflicts. How many times have we had hype when new characters were introduced and then they were just another in the long list of TOG characters that were relevant and were forgotten?
And what happened to the mind games and incredible tests that TOG did? This initial creativity from SIU reminded me a lot of Togashi from YYH and HxH. Today, when we have something like that, the healthy developments are followed by battles with mega powers and mega monsters, on a scale worse than post-Toriyama Dragon Ball. Pretty complicated.
Please don't hate me for expressing this. If anyone else feels the same, please write here. If anyone wants to disagree, feel free to do so as well. I express everything as a way of venting, because TOG for me had a lot of potential. And... Well, that's it.
I've noticed for awhile now that the current chapters of tower of god have some of the best art the series has ever seen, but it seems the artists go a little overboard.
Maybe it's just me but I find it harder to understand just what I'm looking at, as each panel is splattered in a sea of colors and details like it look pretty but I really have to slow down and see what's happening. I think the tower of god sweet spot was around mid season 2. The art was great but it wasn't overly detailed and everything was easy to track.
Maybe it's just the evolution of the series and now that characters are stronger the art helps showcase the power, but at least it's not as bad as the absolute trash art that was beginning season 3.
