I'm hoping to get some help with Kodi's automatic library cleanup feature. I’ve added the cleanonupdate setting in my advancedsettings.xml, expecting it to clean my library when I update. But despite this, it doesn’t seem to be working as intended.

I found a related GitHub issue (GitHub Issue #21728) that appears to have addressed this problem with a code fix, but I’m unsure if this fix made it into the latest release build. Auto cleanup is still not functioning for me, and I was hoping to confirm if anyone else has encountered this or found a solution.

Can a synology nas be used in conjunction with an Xbox series x for movies? I’ve never had a nas but I’m tired of buying bigger external hard drives. I’m at the point now where I would have to buy a 12 tb hard drive anyways. I’ve used kodi for so long with no problems and don’t want to switch to plex or anything else. But I have read that there may be some issues involved and I can’t really find anything recent on the internet that pertains to what I want to do. I want to use my computer to burn the movies, then store them on the nas, then watch them through the kodi app on my Xbox. I don’t believe Xbox will see network storage and will have to run a usb from it to the nas. I just like running everything through my Xbox. Hoping someone will have some insight.

Hello, something strange is happening on my pc with Kodi it's not happening with any other programme and I'm wondering can anyone help.

I use my pc for mixture of gaming and viewing my content on Kodi. With Kodi when the refresh rate of the screen is set to 60hz with vrr enabled therw is flicker and HDR continuously gets engaged and disengaged. Turning off vrr solves this.

Now have the refresh rate at 120hz with vrr on Kodi is fine and normal no flickering HDR stays engaged.

It's a strange one and I don't know if my TV is the culprit or Kodi. It's not happening with any other programme or games when playing at 60hz so I'm stumped.

I notice with Kodi the refresh rate jumps all over the place in the gui in movies it's a perfect 24hz so that's fine.

Does Kodi not play well with vrr screens?

I love using kodi for most of my local play back and network playback.

However I use my Roku for my streaming services like Hulu and Netflix.

Is there something other than Roku that's maybe more "open" that works well and is supported for things like Netflix and Hulu? I've heard of Plex but not worked with it a whole lot.

Just got a new TV (TCL C855 / C89B), with Google TV 12.

I can't seem to get any of the file managers to get permission to write in /andoid/data/ (is working fine on shield/andoid tv v11).

However within Kodi, I can use the build in file manager to write files (settings) from USB back to the kodi user folder.

The only problem is, when you want to restore your settings.xml file, you can copy it from the usb to the Kodi folder, but when you subsequently exit Kodi, it is overwriting its settings file.

Is there an option to exit Kodi without it updating its settings?

I think this started happening after updating to the latest Nvidia drivers 566.03, but I can't downgrade now to test it since I'm playing a few games with compiled shaders and don't want to build them from scratch.

I'm also on the latest Win11 24h2, so not sure what exactly started causing the issue, but all the HDR settings are at defaults as far as i know, and it used to work properly until a week ago. Any ideas about why it would stop toggling desktop HDR when needed?

I seen to have trouble adding new programs to Kodi. In the past I would select videos from left menu then select Files find the directory and the files then add new prog. I could then go to TV Shows in main menu and play the show. Now when I do this the programs do not appear. Any suggestions please

Do you guys know any method to make the menu of any Blu-ray disc show up like it does on Kodi for PC? I've tried it myself, but it requires Java, and you can't have that on Android—or at least I don’t know of any way to make it work. Do you all know any secret method?

Hello everyone, how's it going? I have a question. I have a simple 5.1 home theater setup, but I'm currently only using 3 speakers: one on the left, one in the center, and one on the right, along with the subwoofer, which is connected directly to the P2 output of my TV (TCL p615) with a second-generation Firestick 4K. I’ve noticed that when I’m watching 5.1 or 7.1 movies, the audio sometimes sounds low, and it sometimes seems like part of the audio is missing. I believe this home theater system is actually 2.0 and simulates the other channels for the remaining speakers. My question is, is there any way to normalize the audio, like in Media Player Classic or VLC, to convert it to 2.0 so I get all the audio perfectly? I’m not too concerned about distribution, especially since I understand that this home theater simulates 5.1. I just want the complete audio experience. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks!

Hi I was wondering how are Mac Mini's for running Kodi. i have a spare M2 lying around or might sell it to upgrade to the new M4 Mac Mini.

I have head in the past the Mac's don't support all audio codes (like Lossless DTS-MA, Atoms (True-HD) etc)...but if I have a receiver that I can pass through all this to does it matter?

Im using kodi v20 (as its the last kodi to support MVC 3D), Windows 11 on celeron N4100 with Intel UHD 630

Ive connected HDMI to AVR, my AVR shows in windows that it supports upto 8 channel and DTS HD, TrueHD etc and i get passthrough through fireTV stick

In Kodi audio settings ive selected wasapi and in passthrough settings ive selected passthrough and selected all audio formats

Playing any movie results in LPCM singal and not Passthrough, can anyone help, it results in volume being reduced quite alot

I’m using my remote to adjust subtitles with the Keymap Editor addon. This helps get subtitles over the video for different aspect ratios, because in some files, the black bars are hardcoded, so Kodi sees them as part of the video so subtitles might sometimes be under video, sometimes over video etc.

Which file should I edit to limit the alignment menu options?

Hello, I couldn't find an answer anywhere so here it goes. I wanted to add a show to my library (naruto shippuuden anime with ~500 episodes) but without filler episodes. So the order is messed up and tvdb scrapper doesn't understand what's going on. Is there any way to fix it without storing the complete tv show? Thanks!

I upgraded my phone (iphone ios 18.1) and after the transfer, the app for sendtokodi does not work anymore. The icon stays, but when I click it it tries to download it from the app store, and it says the app does not exist. So, any alternative to “sendtokodi”? It was very useful.

hey, does anybody know how to get Italian subtitles on Kodi? I normally used a4ksubtitles but it now the only results are English subtitles. I am logged in opensubtitles.com (and with the correct credentials) but it fails to connect when searching for the subtitles. any advice? thanks!!

SOLVED: I don't know why but just by changing the password of my opensubtitles.com account it started working again

I could use some help: for the past few weeks, my library has been flooded with "Movies" labeled "Stream," "Playlist," and "Birth Certificate." This seems related to the BDMV folder structure, but it wasn’t an issue until recently.

Does anyone know how I can clean up my library again?

4K HEVC HDR is stuttering when playing back from Kodi 20.2. Every half a second it freezes for half a second and can't be turned off.  Only a hard shutdown (ALT+F4) of the whole Kodi will help.

Playing the same file using VLC works perfectly. Playing 4K HDR videos on YouTube works just as well. 

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

My setup: Asus PN50, 8GB ram, Win 10, SSD, 4K HDR TV.

I use the Composite add-on to access my Plex server and play movies and TV shows. Where do I need to place the external subtitles for a TV show so that they play automatically when I start the episode in Kodi using Composite? To be more clear, when I use SMB with Kodi and have subtitles in the same folder as the TV show, the external subtitles are the default selection, therefore I don’t need to select anything else. Can I do that with Composite?

I have been using Kodi for a while now and I am just trying to watch episodes of tv shows without having to go in and manually select episodes after each one is over. I am looking for a way to auto play a show or make a queue but I am having no luck being able to find the queue after I have added seasons and different shows to it. I am lost, any sort of help would be appreciated.

How can I change the fallback Arial-based font so that I can use it with any skin?

I’m using opensubtitles.com and today I can’t download any subtitle at all. It’s showing subtitle download error.

Edit: it’s ok now. I guess their API is having intermittent issues.

One particular show in my library does not have a TMDb entry, and so I created .nfo files for it. Those files seem to work, but none of the the jpgs that I've added show up. All of the thumbnails for the show itself and for all episodes are blank. The episodes are named S01Exx.mp4 and the thumbnails are S01Exx-thumb.jpg. I also have a poster.jpg. None of the jpgs work. Can someone help?

I don't know if it's a known issue or not.

I setup an FTP server, I can access it just fine from both my TVs.

Some movies can play perfectly fine (mostly remux/MKV files) but BDMV (ISO) files, KODI seems to struggle a lot.

It buffers like for 2 minutes then the "failed" playback message appear.

The files just works fine, and they work on VLC ===> But why am I not using VLC you say ? The infamous subtitle stutter bug is still present to this day.

Anyway, is there something I can do or I need to remux every file that I have into an MKV ?

Hi my setup to run Kodi is 4K Benq Projector 4550i, Onkyo NR7100 AVR and Beelink S12 Mini Pro.

Each time I play a video with HDR on kodi, it renegotiates a HDMI Handshake (Screen / audio goes out for 5-6 seconds) on the PC and then the screen comes back in HDR mode on my projector. When I stop the 4K video it again renegotiates a HDMI Handshake (Screen / audio goes out for 5-6 seconds).

For the longest time I thought this was just the process for HDR videos, but recently I installed Kodi on my Firestick 4K gen 1 and it plays HDR content seamlessly without any of these handshake issues. Would anyone know the reason for this happening on the PC? Is it because the PC screen is naturally not in HDR mode or wondering if this is HDCP related? Any input would be great. Thanks!

Is there anyone who can please spare some time on how to sideload Kodi on AppleTV 4K? I am abit confused about the app signing and how to upload it on the device itself.

Is it possible to make the red circle status icon stay on the screen while the show is being recorded?

Is there a skin or add on that can show all of my Movies as posters on Home Screen? My library is small atm at around 30 movies.

The default skin and some others I’ve tried just shows recently added or unwatched.

I know you can click on Movies and it brings up a list, but that’s ugly.

Hi, I have bought TCL 75C655 with soundbar TCL TS8211 and I am having issues when watching movies on Kodi that have 5.1 audio. I have watched Avatar and Inception on 5.1 audio and sometimes I couldnt hear what they are saying. When I am watching movie with 2.0 audio its alright. I have soundbar connected to TV via HDMI cable.

Can someone provide any tips how to fix low voice problems when watching 5.1 audio on my 2.1 soundbar?

Things that I tried so far:

• upping treble and lowering bass on soundbar
• night mode(not much improvement with voices and basses were terrible)
• setting priority of voices to HIGH in TV settings
