Fresh download (1.4) with latest version of inkstitch on Win 10. I am setting up a new laptop. When I select an object on the workarea it does not highlight in the Layer and object listing on the right hand side. Even when i click on an item on that list, it selects it on the worksheet but shows no indication of being selected on the list.
I was not able to find anything in preference or setting, this is driving me a bit batty.
UPDATE....the problem was in PREFERENCES-THEMING. The theme it was on for some reason did not show the highlighting..Win 32, but it shows up under minwatia and the other watia...it also cleared up the jumbo sliders for the work area.
Using the bezier tool to create a trunk on this tree as the original one did not look like we needed. I now have two separate groups but cannot get them to combine. I’m inserting a photo. Any ideas to get the two to hook together so we can cut them on the plasma cutter? Life tried combine tool, union tool and regular group, still not able to get it.
How can I do it?
Newbie here (I'm back, a week after my first project). The first house illustration was so successful that I thought I'd do it again for my parent's house - which, unfortunately for me, is made of brick.
What you see here took me 3 days of grinding to get it done, even with figuring out a few shortcuts.
When I started the draw on my Cricut, I noticed the pen retracing over some of the bricks (see second photo - I think those might be the ones?). This was just adding to the already painstakingly slow process, and I actually ran out of time and had to leave without the gift. When I did, the Bluetooth connection was severed and it stopped halfway through.
I'm ready to re-draw, but I would like to remove the overlapping bricks, if at all possible, if for no other reason than to conserve the stupidly expensive ink in the Cricut pen.
Is there a way to isolate them? Or to have all overlapping lines in the design turn into a single path so it doesn't take an hour and a half to print/draw it?
Is it just that we got what we paid for?
has this happened to anyone else. Ive tried rotating it but when i do it changes it shape too
I am working on an illustration composed of duplicated objects. When I reopen the file after a while, I will find that some objects have slightly moved out of their original position, which is very annoying. I keep returning them to their intended place but as I continue working, they will keep moving around. I have also discovered that certain objects move about a pixel every time I select them (here's a video) Other objects will also move about the same distance as the object that I was clicking on (picture). Any idea how to stop this from happening?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
So as if a person had colored it, but it has to be a different fill pattern each time and it should still be similar.
It should also be automated.
I'm looking for tutorial on how to make graphics like this.
Thanks
I'm trying to draw an arc but the button is always disabled. What do I need to do enable it? I don't see any option anywhere.
Hello,
I am new to Inkscape and can't seem to figure out an issue on my own. I am trying to create a set of waterslide decals that need to be a specific size. A business that will print these for me uses 50 mm by 75mm sheets of paper so that is what I set my page size to be. Now that the designs are done I need to print them at home on a regular piece of paper to confirm the designs' sizes are correct before sending them the files.
The issue is that whenever I try to export the file to print it, the quality is absolute trash. I have set the pHYs DPI to 300 in the Export Format options to no effect.
How can keep the page size and increase the quality?
What am I doing wrong here?
Thank you
im not acutely making it for a costumer im just learning and practicing. the name of the shop will go inside the pot or above the line but i have no idea wich font i should use
tell me what can improve + my friend told me that the middle top one looks a bit inappropriate do u agree ?
Hello, any idea why selecting this path the selected area is so much bigger?
Hey guys, I need to place a text in both Arabic and English with numerals accordingly
Is there anyway to do this, I have supposedly supported fonts and everything works on word docs, I tried copy paste text but that doesnt work of course, or should convert the text to an image somewhere else ? any suggestions ?
I've got a lot more to learn - sometimes things don't work the way I expect even when I'm following a tutorial but I'm figuring it out. A year ago I would have tried to do all the node work to connect free floating objects in my CAD software and it isn't even close to capable of handling as many nodes as the image for this job contained. Lots of lagging, lots of crashes and lost work. Lots of frustration.
Thanks for helping me avoid some of that frustration.
I made this on Inkscape! See WikiSandbox.org/wiki/"The 3 Summits" to view the SVG and name the resort, lifts and trails.
Using Arch Linux and Inkscape 1.4-3, Inkscape will randomly crash when applying path effects, especially the envelope deformation effect. It may crash when I'm moving nodes or curves around, and when I undo or redo.
When I open the automatic backup, I find that the object no longer has the live path effect. Instead, whatever the object looked like before the crash is now its permanent shape, so I'd have to re-apply the path effect again (or, depending on how bad the object looked before the crash, re-draw the object again).
Is anyone else experiencing this? I'll reboot into Windows in a bit to see if it happens there as well.
