The logo: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candy_Crush_Saga#/media/File:Candy_Crush_logo.png appears to have an overall top to bottom gradient, and the letters have a kind of bevel. The bevel gives the brighter interior highlight- that traces out the letters around the vertical gradient. Any idea how to recreate that effect?
Does anyone else find working with text on this program incredibly infuriating?
The text in the screenshot is supposed to say "Grace Evangelical" and it read fine at first. Then I increased the font size and now it's overlapping and I just don't understand why it's doing that. Is there something I don't know about?
Also, there always seems to be two boxes, associated with the text. The dashed one that goes around the words, but then what's the second solid box and why is it so offset with the text?!
Yesterday Inkscape was working fine. Today I've downloaded the unstable version of GIMP to work on some new features and when I tried to open Inkscape again I've got a message about "libsigc-2.0-0.dll not found/or couldn't load it" whatever...I don't know if it was related, but I did uninstall GIMP 2.99 and re-installed Inkscape.
Now Inkscape opens normally, but I can't access the "Preferences Menu", when I click it nothing happens. Also, as soon as I open the software, for a split second, a pop up appears and then vanishes...don't know what it is.
I'm using a laptop connected to a DELL monitor, if this might have anything to do with the problem (but I'm working like this for almost a year without any issue...).
Does anybody have a clue on what's going on? Thanks!
EDIT: The pop up that flashes when I start Inkscape says "Dialog Window" but it has no content, it's completely blank (for the half a second it actually shows up).
I have a stained glass pattern that I would like to modify. It's like a coloring book page with just black lines. Trace bitmap just creates a copy of it. There is nothing to ungroup. Am I missing something? I'm still new to inkscape but I'm pretty sure this has worked in the past. A Google search has not been helpful. Thank you!
Is there a way in inkscape to have multiple defaults per tool?
In the tool preferences, I can set "This tool's own style", which is great. However, I noticed that especially for the pencil tool, I use multiple defaults often. E.g. different colours and stroke width. I use the Dropper tool, but it's lacking as it doesnt set fill, stroke and stroke width at the same time.
ways how this could look:
Is it possible to edit path handles without clicking and dragging them? Can I pull up a text box or something to change a handle to, say, 20px long at 150 degrees? Or would I just have to figure out where that is and snap the handle to there?
Whenever I draw a rectangle, and convert "object to path", I should end up with 4 paths and 4 nodes.
Alas, I end up with 8...each corner gets two nodes.
I seems like that, by default, my corners are rounded...even though the rectangle tool is clearly set to "0" for corner radiuses.
Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to avoid this?
I have a couple of pages within my project. On my 1st page I want to create a button that users can click and it takes them to the 2nd page, and another button takes them to a 3rd page. Is this possible? Are there good tuts for it? User will see the project as a pdf file.
I'm a newbie to Inkscape, and therefore I would like to know if somebody has already done this without sharing the original file to an unknow server as " https://www.pagecoveragecalculator.com/ " .
This feature helps at getting better print price offers.
Thank you !
Hi, I see in the Inkscape description that it can open EPS files but it seems to be impossible. I've installed the latest version - is there something I'm missing?
Maybe someone would be so kind to enlighten me please. I have done this a long time ago and can not remember how I did it. I did NOT align all shapes by hand, this is the only thing I know. Pattern-along-path and Scatter seem also out. I thought the "Align and Distribute" Panel was somehow involved but I did not found out how. Maybe some of you have a tip for me. Thx!
I am trying to copy a layer from one file to another file, ctrl c and v doesn't work
Logo that it's going to be applied to.
Hi everyone! I need to figure out how to replicate the stained glass appearance in the photo (Not including those vertical/horizontal dividers). It doesn't have to be exact just something close. I'm using it to create a logo for a church.
I'm relatively new to Inkscape. Although I've used it minimally in the past, virtually all my training has been in Adobe Illustrator, so I'm going through some learning curves. My first thought was that I should create a pattern sample and use that to fill 9 degree radial segments for the rays and use each ray section as a clipping mask for the pattern. However I need to figure out how to make the stained glass chunks progressively get bigger as they go further out. As far as color, I think the only answer is to apply the fill color after I get the glass how I want it.
While Illustrator is vast, I'm finding that Inkscape is as well and with it being opensource software, there's a ton of features I've never even heard of. So if anyone has any advice, tips, and tricks, please please let me know! Also let me know if I need to clarify my objective. Thanks!
How do I stop my colors from turning dull when I export? This is usually never a problem for me so I don't understand what is happening. I have not changed any sort of settings from their presets. The first image is a screenshot from Inkscape and the second image is the same file but exported as a PNG.
I am trying to remove this gray color behind the chimp, making it transparent. I have no access to photoshop and am a noob so.. yeah any suggestions?
Anyone have a suggestion for a cutter compatible with Inkscape/Windows?
I need to print/cut laserprinted labels, so registration mark reading is a must.
Currently using Roland GX24 with Illustrator plugin. It works, but it needs a ridiculous amount of tweaking to start: keep old version of Illustrator, set clock back a few years so the plugin will start, etc
Pretty much as title. I know that this is possible on cousin Illustrator, but I haven't had much luck finding if Inkscape has a similar function. Any help?
I'm trying to create a Colour Ramp using interpolation but whenever I do use it, it creates this giant X that covers my entire image, nothing get's rid of it aside from undoing in interpolation. What's going on here? I'm new to Inkscape (like, 10 minutes new), so naturally I have no clue what's going on. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.
Hello,
I've been following an old tutorial for inkscape on my macbook and I need to add some print lines to an object but under extensions/render there is no layout tab and no print lines in any other tab as far as i could find. Does anyone know how to add that options to my extensions or where the option is now?
I traced a bitmap and it came out looking good, but it's got too many nodes and it's unwieldy. I did 8 passes and threw away the background pass. I want to "flatten" it so that any node on top of each other combine or something like that. Is there any way to do this?
TIA
completely new to this app, does anyone have any ideas where i could find design tutorials for inkscpae?I couldn't really find any on youtube
edit: I’ve made a few designs already using Inkscape this past week and I’ve messed around with all the tools. I’m just a hands on person I like to see how people do their design in a tutorial to get a better feel especially complex designs & When I searched it on my laptop on youtube there was only 2 design tutorials I could find. The rest were all Inkscape tutorials like how to use it that’s why I said I couldn’t really find any.
