For the past week Krita has been unusable. I didn't change anything in the setting, I updated to the new version and that didn't fix it. Moving the brush is so sluggish now it feels like its running slower, but I KNOW my computer isn't the problem.
It's not my tablet either because it still happens when I use a mouse, if anyone else is experiencing this or knows a fix please tell me.
I've recently started using Krita on my android tablet, and I'm already having issues with the Transform tool: namely that it doesn't work at all. I'm kinda getting by with painting over/re-drawing things I want to resize or rotate or whatever, but sometimes I just wanna doodle something big and then shrink it down to take up less space on the canvas, and it irks me that I can't do that on the Android version. I've looked around to try to find a solution, but it seems like one hasn't been found yet for a problem that's 4 years old at least and functionally removes an entire tool from the program.
Anybody know a simple workaround?
I'm not a low-level Krita user. To me this is just an electronic sketchbook with practically unlimited pages... or if Paint Tool SAI was more like Photoshop. Digital art in general is frustrating to me, and I've never used anything other than the Brush, Line, and Select tools... hell I hardly ever use more than 2 layers for anything. A simple workaround would be really appreciated, as I don't have the experience, or patience, for anything that would require me to learn deeper settings or features.
Constructive criticisms are welcomed!!
So recently I started a new drawing and I thought I'd use a screenshot of a reference I liked (I used a screenshot as the base bc the pose was confusing me and I'd thought if I made some kind of guide lines it would help). But a thing I've noticed is if you save that work that uses a png as a base it'll merge into one layer (I promised I'm not a traicer I just wanted to understand the reference better and then I kinda just kept drawing and changed a few things to fit the idea I had). But now all my layer are merged and I don't know what to do because this will happen every time I try and save. I'm aware that I probably can't get back to the stage where all the layers were sepret but I'd like some advice so I wouldn't run into this issue in the future (I can make a separate post showing the art if someone is interested) thanks for reading and sorry if mu grammer is not the best
I wonder if Krita has supports 3D. Like can you import 3D models, can you like edit or animate them. Or is there like a plugin for it? If not, will there ever be?
Hello all,
Sorry if this has already been asked, but does anyone know where I might find some alcohol ink effect brushes? I tried searching here, the krita forum website, youtube and just google in general. I can find the exact thing I'm looking for as a Procreate bundle, but I don't have an ipad.
Any help is appreciated, either a link I'm missing or where I might be able to get these commissioned.
Thanks everyone!
I'm trying to change some options in the 'Brush mode' part of the brush settings, but it's greyed out and I can't alter it? it's like this for every brush I have and they're all the default brushes. How can I fix this?
Tl;dr I have massively fucked up. I deleted files I wanted to keep, and got some pathing errors when I tried to recover from the recycle bin. In my infinite wisdom, I panicked, and did some things that I don't think helped at all, but manged to scrape some remnants of the .kra files.
I cannot open them; either krita doesn't recognize it despite being a .kra file, or 'maindoc.xml' is missing. I have one file that I'm desperate to recover in some way. I don't expect to retrieve layer information but it'd be a god damned miracle if it was possible. Even just a flat at the native resolution - I can work with that in some capacity. I can share the entire folder (and what's left of it), or only the file(s) I really want to save.
I did attempt a system restore to a point about a week ago; personal documents were still missing.
I used two different recovery softwares but I think it was too much for my system. It probably was part of what caused the rewriting to happen (using my computer at all).
I thought I had file history on; apparently not.
Yes I'm an idiot, also I hate onedrive. There was no restore using onedrive as it had no backup as I had it off, but files were getting saved there anyway. (Or something- honestly it's a stressful blurr that gives me palpitations now)
I apologize for my rambling, I'm honestly grieving over this; I'm not in the best mental staye right now. If anyone has any suggestions or is willing to look at the files it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi I’m sorry if the quality got nuked since I sent it to myself through multiple apps to get to Reddit on my phone.
I have been learning digital art and I am trying to learn backgrounds. I will put a figure of someone in the light in the foreground but before then I want to finish rendering, I just feel stuck on what else to add. Any suggestions on how to improve this?
Does the lighting need to be changed too?
Oh also unrelated but if anyone knows how to filter in krita to not change the art itself but to stop AI from using my work that would be awesome
Any tips would be helpful thank you !
I've been trying to figure out how to place one pixel at a time instead of the 9 shown for an embarrassingly long amount of time. I'm new to krita and online art in general and wanted to practice first with some Pixel art but I'm not sure what to do with the brush editor, or honestly how to do it. Any tips would be appreciated!
I started drawing about two months ago and decided to try digital as well. This is my first drawing with a Wacom tablet and it took almost two hours lol. It’s a really different feel from physical drawing but I’m having fun with it.
I’ve been trying to make an OC but it seems off to me in some way it’s my first time trying to use krita and the style idk where i should go from here any advice would be appreciated.
I'm using the steam version of krita and i'm on windows 11. I have no clue why this keeps happening
i just downloaded krita on my old huawei tablet (huawei mediapad t5) but when i draw the lines are like too much transparent , maybe this happens because my tablet doesn’t support pressure? can somebody help me. sorry for my bad eanglish i hope you understood
