Good morning!!
So this is my new apartment. It is a two bedroom, 86 square meters internal area with 13 square meters covered veranda.
I need help / feedback on the living room / dinning area layout + sofa choice.
For distance reference each tile is 1x1 meters. Also I included the Architectural plan in the photos with dimensions.
So, my current two options are two:
OPTION 1:
Either go with a Ligne Roset Togo sofa set of 1no. 2 seater, 1no corner piece and 1no. Footstool. - Reference photo 6. Corner piece would be placed by the window of course. Colour is indicative. Total length of the setup is 2.32m which leaves a spacious 1m corridor to pass through from the entrance to the kitchen / living area. PROS: Very comfy, stylish, allows for 2 people to lie down at the same time, achieve the L shape couch with less space, they will make the space feel bigger than it is. CONS: expensive, a bit low to the ground, the style is not everyone's cup of tea.
OPTION 2:
Go with a 2.4m 3- seater sofa, Reference photo no. 7 & 8 and have a single togo arm chair on either side of the sofa image no.10.
I have been considering sofa options for far too long I have to decide asap!! I need you help and suggestions!!
Feel free to give me other ideas!!
I am moving into a new house and have brown couches. The floors are also a darker brown vinyl wood. I cannot afford new couches and love the earthy, modern vintage type style. I’m obsessed with the tv stand above and trying to figure out how to make it work with the couches I have. This has a different color wood on the inside, so is there any way to make it work?
I thought about a black drum coffee table. Maybe an accent table similar to the oak color that’s inside the tv stand? What color rug?
Any ideas??
Thoughts on how to make this room into mid century modern.
I have rented this flat, it’s now completely empty (all the artwork, tv, plants taken away by previous tenant). Please help me make this flat feel like home! Many thanks in advance.
I recently moved into a new house in the UK, I was looking to decorate my room with some nice plants (real & fake) and I also wanted some nice shelves to put them in.
However, my budget is pretty low, and I'm struggling to find places that sell plants and shelves for cheap. I looked at Facebook marketplace, b&m, b&q, Amazon, homebase, garden shops, etc. but they all have steep prices. Even Facebook marketplace has crazy prices like £10-£20 for a single small plant.
Does anyone know of a place where I can get these things for cheap around Birmingham, UK? Would greatly appreciate any help!
Hello all!
I have this space here that separates my living room from my dining room and I have no idea what to do with it. It looks so bare right now.
I always imagined maybe a comfy chair and a gallery wall, but then it seems weird to put a chair there since it's basically also in the dining room.... I would love any suggestions!
I'm trying to figure out how to dress these windows. We need some kind of covering for them because the light hits the living room area in a way that can be very distracting. At the same time, we don't want it to be too much of a focal point as to how it's dressed.
Hopefully that all makes sense. I haven't asked for any design help like that before!
We have a small nook on a landing that is unused. It’s 36” wide and 26” deep. The photo makes it look deeper than what it really is. The room to the left is an office and the stairs go to a finished basement. I’m unsure how to decorate it. I’ve considered a fake plant, storage cabinet, or bookshelf. There isn’t an outlet or a way to easily install one here. How would you decorate this nook?
I don’t know what to put on the sides of my mantel. The top sticks out so I can put bookshelves right next to it. I have hit a brick wall with ideas (probably been staring at it too long lol) help!
Hi everyone!
Hoping to get non-biased opinions because my husband and I are split. Should we do a linen-y full length drape? Or keep it simple with shades? Don’t be concerned by the chandelier, its days are numbered.
Thank you!!
Hi! Got this painting from a family member, but not sure whether it matches the sofa and the bookcase. I'd like to hear your opinion.
Floor lamp or sideboard lamp? Styles?
So my questions are:
Details:
I was initially putting the paintings above the headboard, but then I can't lie in bed and enjoy them. So I am thinking of putting them on the side wall. The space between the windows is about 6.5 feet. Should the wall with the paintings get the accent color or should the color go behind the headboard even if the paintings are on the side wall?
I have reluctantly decided there's only space for 2 paintings, so I need to choose: Starry Night and either (1) Vase with Irises Against a Yellow Background or (2) The Siesta. I am leaning towards Vase because it is a portrait orientation which I thought might contrast nicely with Starry Night. Even though the Siesta fits the theme of a bedroom more nicely, lol.
I was initially going to put the paintings above the headboard, but then I can't lie in bed and enjoy them. So I am thinking of putting them on the side wall.
Starry Night will have a heavy gold frame (Mom gifted me a golden frame that's 28x24 inches and 4 inches thick all around. So the inner space for the painting is 20x16 unless I use matting and get a smaller painting). I thought I'd put Vase in a 1 inch black frame. I'm leaning towards also 16x20 so same proportions, but also considering 20x25 since it will have a thinner frame than Starry Night.
