Anyone training for Hyrox or similar herein Frankfurt? Trying to find a gym where is more or less easy to train all the disciplines or where there are some nice group classes. My fitseveneleven lacks a lot of space to do it
Bare with me, as I need go back more than 6 years in the past. I was a consultant in Frankfurt and grabbed some fast food for lunch. As I didn't know the city well, I just went to a Döner shop with a good rating.
I wasn't satisfied and, I am quite honest, after 6 years I cannot be sure about details. Was it just the food, was it the service as well? Likely. In any case, I gave a two-star review on goggle maps without any further text input on the restaurant and went on with my life.
2 years ago, so 4 years after me posting the initial review I got threatened with a law suit as this rating was allegedly not valid as I was alleged not to have been a customer. Luckily, I had a photo stored of my 2-star food on Google Photos. After providing the details, I didn't hear anything back and I thought the situation is cleared up. Yes, I realize how naive that sounds..
Last week again a complaint was launched again the rating and I was offered by Google an opportunity to defend why it shouldn't be removed. I provided Grundgesetz Art 5:
(1) Jeder hat das Recht, seine Meinung in Wort, Schrift und Bild frei zu äußern und zu verbreiten und sich aus allgemein zugänglichen Quellen ungehindert zu unterrichten.
Seems it wasn't good enough as a few minutes later Google responded that the rating will stay hidden and I can use the legal system to get relief...
I personally rely *so much* on public ratings to be informed and I believe it is such a great mechanism to elevate great establishments and motivate the others to get better. The restaurant is now at 4,6 stars. Did it improve? If so, great for them! Or do they just remove all unfavorable ratings to appear like a good restaurant? I don't know! I fear the latter as they are dealing with bad ratings/reviews by deleting instead of addressing them.
I am now torn: My time is valuable to me. I don't want to waste it as I have been forced to defend against the claim. But it feels like sunken costs giving up now, and potentially waiting for the next few years when I get again a complaint about this again.
What are your thoughts? Did you experience something similar? Did you sue or let it be.
Thank you for your input!
I had a flight from Frankfurt Airport T2 on 11th December 2024. After the security check i went to the washroom and therefore removed my ring and kept it in the bag to keep it safe. I clearly remember that I had the ring until boarding started.. my husband says that maybe the ring fell while I removed the passport during boarding. I only realised that I have lost the ring on reaching the destination. I have raised a request with the airport authorities. I am here to seek help from this community. If anyone's having an International travel planned from Frankfurt I request you to please please check the boarding gate no. E4 if there's a gold ring with american diamond engraved It has a thick thread tied to it. It's not just a ring It's an emotion.. any sort of help / inputs for seeking help would be great!
Flying home after a few days in Frankfurt for work I feel so relieved to leave. I was unfortunate enough to have to pass through the Bahnhofviertel a few times and holy cow is it a disgraceful hellhole. Dirty, smelly and unsafe. Rubbish everywhere, soiled mattresses lying on the street, bins overflowing, broken glass. Homeless people sleeping next to puddles of vomit. People openly dealing drugs, gangs of men hanging around staring at you threateningly (I am female). Drunks pissing and shitting in the street. Endless crappy shops and fast food joints. No police. Frankfurt, how could you let it get like this? It’s shameful.
Hello everyone,
Next week is my girlfriend’s birthday and we would like to celebrate it with friends. We are going to be a group of 6 people. Do you have any recommendations of restaurants for such events which will cost around 20-25 euros per person to eat?
Gude,
Anyone know a good stylist that can cut short pixie hair that doesn’t cost me 50€ for a few strands ?
Hey everyone, i (27, M) recently moved to Frankfurt city for my job, and i hardly know anyone in the city. I'd like to know if someone of similar age group would like to hangout and visit Christmas market anytime soon? DM me if anyone's interested. 🎄

Hallo Leute,
Where can my 16 y/o friends and I get a cocktail in Frankfurt? We would like to have a nice mojito but don't know where to go
Any feedback? Quereinstieg als Vertretungsleher at Campuservice
Gude!
Hello! I am going to start working in Frankfurt in March and need to find an apartment. How difficult is it to get an apartment without visiting in person? I’ve been checking several websites (ImmoScout, Kleinenzagen, Wunderflats…), but I’m afraid of being scammed.
Hey guys, this question is aimed more at internationals living in Germany.
I'm currently studying here on a type D visa (it says valid for Deutschland on it) but i don't have a residence card yet (just applied for one).
I'm planning on travelling to Amsterdam for Christmas, would that be possible with this visa? I've tried calling various ausländerbehörde offices to ask this question and have gotten no response.
Have any of you travelled in the eu (or Netherlands) with this visa? If so did you have any issues at border control. I'll be taking the train from cologne and there's border control at Arnhem Centraal.
Also, I'm a non-eu citizen.
Thanks
Hallo zusammen,
Danke schonmal!
Hey everyone, here's the situation, my landlord is threatening to keep my entire deposit if I don't pay for extensive renovation work in their apartment. I am leaving Germany in January and they know that. They said if I had a problem I can just sue them, probably as a bluff - but I have legal insurance so it looks like I will actually just do that.
However, I have no idea how to choose a lawyer especially on such short notice. I already called a legal hotline and they think I have a good case, prejudice c. €3k or a bit more, but I don't know if that's enough for a serious lawyer to be interested... Any advice?
Thanks a lot in advance, anything helps
PS: I don't know if sub rules allow for direct recommendations so if you know a good lawyer in the area please also send me a DM!
Bought a ticket through the RMV app to take the train to the airport. I bought it while still at the hostel, looks like everything went through, no problem, I can see the ticket in the app so I go on my way.
Guy comes around to scan tickets and I go to open my app, but now there's an error. It shows I've purchased the ticket but won't go to the next screen where he can scan things. I think (?) its because of the lack of service but honestly idk, I just know one second I could see the ticket and the next I'm getting an error.
I'd missed a train and this one was running late so I was already running behind schedule to get to the airport for an international flight so I'll admit I wasn't paying as much attention to the conversation as I should have been. This guy didn't speak much English and I don't speak much German but I was able to show him my email receipt as proof of payment. He didn't let up but through Google translate we managed to work out that I could just pay him directly for the cost of the ticket. It should have been 6.30€ we even typed it out since my German isn't that good and I wanted to make sure we were on the same page.
Like I said I'm in a rush so I just tapped my card and went on my way. Only now I'm looking at the receipt and my bank statement and it's saying 60.00€. My best guess is that he accidentally charged me the price of a fine instead of the ticket like he said he would. I can't do much because I didn't notice until after I was at the airport but I'm wondering if there's anyway I can challenge this once I get back home?
I have proof of payment with a date and time on the receipt. I was able to show that I had a ticket in the app. And just given the conversation I had with the guy I don't even think the 60€ was on purpose. I'm guessing it was a reflex from fining people because we both agreed on that 6.30€ number and I was under the impression I'd just be paying the cost of the ticket to cover my ass.
I was a little annoyed to pay twice, but now I'm actually pissed to have payed for a ticket AND a fine. So yeah, do I have any hope here? Could I contact someone in English and try to get a refund? Or am I just fucked? If I'm fucked, where is my best bet to give feedback so something like this doesn't happen again?
Welche Museen könnt ihr empfehlen? :)
Finde online nix dazu. Can someone relate?

Hello,
My wife is trying to apply for the permanent residence, which I already have. She filled the online form, and the email is a bit weird, saying the appointment is for a Sudent Visa? The appointment is for may (we received it 7 weeks ago, so in total 8 months of waiting). We called ABH and they said the system had made something wrong, and to call again. Second time she called they were very rude, and said "dont call again you have to wait". Is it really taking that long for a permanent residence appointment? I was able to get my appointment for 7 weeks, 2 and a half years ago.
Hello everyone,
I have recently moved to Frankfurt from another city and just registered today. But I have an appointment at Auslanderbehörde of a different city (that I moved out of) next week to extend my current residence permit as a student.
Will they still process my application considering i moved out a week before the appointment? Or will they deny? Has anyone done this before?
Thanks.
