Hey there everyone! I'll be visiting Frankfurt for a little over 2 months (15 Feb - 3 May) and I'm looking for a reasonably cheap place to stay. I would greatly appreciate any help in these rushed moments!

Context: I'm visiting the Frankfurt Institute of Advanced Studies for a secondment period during my PhD. I'm very excited but definitely short on time to find good housing options. My PhD (from Italy) is scholarship totals to 1800 eur/month for the period abroad, which I need to use to survive in Frankfurt. So, the cheaper the place, the better... although I realize nothing will be "cheap" given the short notice. Around 600/month would be ideal, 800/month still doable.

I've already looked to "housinganywhere" and similar websites, but I was wondering whether anyone out there knows of cheaper alternatives.

I don't really mind commuting, so I'm open to places outside of Frankfurt, as long as FIAS is reachable within 1 hour of public transport. I'm okay with sharing a flat with people.

Ich bin auf der Suche nach dem schwarzen Matten Besteck was in einer Restaurant Kette „Kahuna Poké Bros.“ in Frankfurt genutzt wurde.

mein lieblingsbeispiel ist die tramhaltestelle am hbf. da haben fußgänger gleichzeitig grün wie die straßenbahn. das nexte beispiel ist die hedderichstraße. nach lust und laune der ampel haben dort fußgänger und die autos auf der schweizer straße 2x hintereinander grün. der bus auf der hedderichstraße muss warten. als 2 jahre baustelle an der mörfelder ladstr/kreuzung darmstädter ldstr war, hatten die autos auf der mörfelder eine kürzere grünphase als die anderen ampeln, was dann zu Verstopfung führte… vllt hätten wir weniger autoraser, wenn die ampeln gescheit schalten würden und sich jmd regelmäßig kümmert/überprüft, ob die ampeln zur verkehrslage passen?🤔

Hallo zusammen. Ich besuche bald Frankfurt, um ein Mädchen zu treffen, mit dem ich seit Monaten schreibe. Wir haben vor auf mehrere Dates zu gehen, aber das Problem ist es, dass weil sie nicht wirklich in Frankfurt wohnt, sie sich mit der Stadt nicht so gut auskennt und ich noch weniger (erstes Mal dort). Also wollte ich euch fragen, ob ihr gute Date Ideen oder Date Spots habt? Wir sind beide ziemlich sportlich und trinken keinen Alkohol und würden lieber was aktives machen, als z.B nur ins Kino zu gehen. Bisher hab ich mir gedacht, auf einen Kaffee zu gehen und in der Altstadt rumzulaufen (falls ihr ein gutes Café kennt, könnt ihr das gerne auch hinschreiben), Schlittschuhlaufen zu gehen, bouldern zu gehen und vielleicht in nem Park oder am Main ein Picknickdate zu haben. Aber, wie gesagt, ich brauche Hilfe, weil das ganz Standard-Dates sind und weiß nicht, was es sonst zu tun gibt. Falls ihr zusätzlich irgendwelche romantische Orte kennt, könnt ihr die auch gerne hinschreiben. Danke!

Hi, ab Sommer 25 werde ich in Frankfurt meine Schule nachholen, Nähe Südbahnhof. Derzeit wohne ich in Mainz und möchte ungern pendeln. Ich suche die günstige Möglichkeit in Frankfurt zu wohnen, gerne auch außerhalb (jedoch eher Richtung Mainz). Ich suche eine 2 Zimmer Wohnung, die Lage ist mir egal. Habe keine Ansprüche. Offenbach finde ich sehr schön, aber anscheinend auch teuer. Welche Vororte oder Stadtteile sind erschwinglich? Die Wohnung würde vom Jobcenter bezahlt werden, deshalb so billig wie möglich.

If I could give FIS (oberusel) a zero star rating I would. Please, before considering putting your child in this school be prepared to expose them to: drugs/smoking/ vaping, bullying, verbal abuse from students, unfair grading practices, discrimination from teachers and possible unresolved/ unsupported mental health issues due to stress, academic and social pressures; Children with mental health issues will truly struggle in FIS unless you are either: favored by staff or fight to receive support. This “fight” will take months and you will most likely receive: A. Weak learning plan B. Little to no support C. Support When it’s too late Speaking as witness, this school is not fit for shy/ socially undeveloped children. For example: Your child will not be protected by faculty in a case of bullying, why? Because teachers take a subtle part in FIS bullying culture. I have heard multiple conversations taking place between teachers v. Teachers and teacher v. Student where private information about another students is exchanged and name calling is involved. I was appalled when I learnt from a peer A COUNSELOR HAD SHARED PRIVATE INFORMATION ABOUT ME WITH MY PEER BUT ALSO ENGAGED IN NAME CALLING WITH MY PEER. This truly devastated me and made me feel insecure at FIS around faculty for the rest of my time there. Would you want your child to go through the same? Last but not least, FAVORITISM WILL AFFECT YOU CHILDS QUALITY OF EDUCATION. TEACHERS WILL BLUNTLY ATTEND TO A SPECIFIC STUDENT/ GROUP OF STUDENTS MORE FREQUENTLY THAN THE REST OF THE STUDENTS IN A CLASS DUE TO FAVORITISM. TEACHERS TREAT STUDENTS BASED ON HOW MUCH THEY FAVOR THEM NOT HOW HARD STUDENTS WORK IN THEIR CLASS. YOUR CHILD’S GRADE MAY BE HEAVILY IMPACTED BY A TEACHERS JUDGEMENT ON THEM NOT THEIR WORK.

Diesmal ging es darum, dass jeder seinen Führerschein oder Ausweis vorzeigen musste und bei mir hat die Kontrolle ca. 20 Min. gedauert.
