ich bin gerade auf Jobsuche und weil die Alnatura Zentrale/Verwaltung bei Kununu ganz gut abgeschnitten hat, habe ich deren Stellenangebote besonders im Blick. Und da fällt mir auf.. das sind so einige! Da wird gefühlt im Wechsel regelmäßig eine Stelle frei in der Buchhaltung, dann im Personal, dann wieder in der Buchhaltung und so weiter. Die Stellenbezeichnung ist aber immer leicht verändert, vllt sind das also auch ganz unterschiedliche Abteilungen. Wundern tut es mich aber schon. Weiß da jemand mehr, allgemein wie so etwas zustande kommen kann oder konkret was bei denen abgeht?

Hello, It’s just as the title said. The people at the Rathaus registered my landlord’s address instead of mine. I did this back in December but never checked, but today I had to use it and it got refused because I provided two different addresses. I sent an email to meldeamt@darmstadt.de explaining what happened, but how long will they take to answer? Plus my visa application was submitted with the false Meldebescheinigung. I’ve found myself in a position where I need to exchange my license from the US to a German one. I come from a full-reciprocity state in the US, so I know I don’t HAVE to take the practical or theoretical tests. My issue is that Darmstadt Fahrerlaubnisbehörde literally has no appointments available, ever.

I’ve been checking for months now, at all hours of the day, and I am required to do this in person. I’ve contacted them asking if I can make an appointment any other way than the online portal, but despite their own website saying it’s possible to book an appointment at the office, they said no when I went.

I just genuinely don’t get how Darmstadt-Dieburg processes this by post, other cities nearby have open slots next week or even next month at least, and Darmstadt proper is just 🦗. I email, I call, I log on to the website at staggered hours during the day between 5am and 9pm just in case. Nothing is working for me, and now I’m at the point where I legally cannot use my US license to drive since it’s been longer than 6 months.

I’m just tired of feeling like I’m slamming my head against the bureaucracy wall (which, yes I know it’s part of the German experience).

Best towns or villages near Darmstadt

Looking into getting a job in Darmstadt and would love to be in a small town nearby. Any recommendations for a young family with an open budget? I’ve heard russelheim and neuisenberg or deitzenbach aren’t too great but are close by. Preferably someplace between Frankfurt and Darmstadt.

I had my bicycle seat along with the seat post stolen yesterday. And couple of days earlier I had the headlights stolen twice. Is it a common occurrence to have your cycle parts stolen? Or is someone just messing/targeting me specifically? For reference it happened in Mauerstraße.

It was parked in the common bicycle parking area among other cycles outside my apartment building. And all three times, it was in between the other cycles so it wasn't standing out, and neither does it look or is expensive. It's pretty unassuming dull looking, so I don't understand why they would specifically target mine? I use it everyday so it wasn't just parked in same spot everyday either. Why would someone go through trouble of search specifically my cycle, unclamp the seat post and steal it? With headlights I can understand, someone might have just yanked it out from the mount but seat and seat post? Especially since all the other ones looked pretty much untouched including the ones that was parked right beside mine.

I checked if I had accidently locked the cycle beside mine but that wasn't the case either. I check every time to make sure I haven't accidently chained someone else cycle to mine.

The only thing I could think of is, I chained my cycle to the tree, but only when the there was no place on the cycle posts, and it isn't uncommon for people to chain their cycles to the tree, lamp post or metal fence.
