Tired of him missing...missed the extra kick in the superbowl...3 in a row a couple weeks ago and another 2 field goals right now against the bills...like how is he still kicking? Wtf do they see in him, he is the worst kicker I've ever seen...I get scared everytime he comes up to kick
Manchester City is losing. Barcelona Lost. Real Madrid Won. Mbappe scored a grear goal. 🫡🫡🫡
How can a team bring 5 championships in one season without the King's Cup and not lose a game for a whole year, how can this happen? On the other hand, he says that the coach said that he doesn't like coaching and doesn't want to do it and the president of the club wants him because he brings trophies and doesn't ask for players and also says that the reason a coach achieves these trophies is only because of the players, such as binzema, Courtios, vini, Modric and Kroos have been in legendary form. So what do you think ? (He meant Ancelotti's period after Zidane only)
How can someone actually become a ref, is there a lot of competion?
I always thought that his skill level was on par with CR7, Baggio and Vardy but something was missing. Was it the hunger? I feel like he was content with having a run of the mill career and didn't take advantage of being the perfect physical specimen for modern football.
I’ve been given an assignment to make a business plan of an innovative idea that has not been implemented yet. i chose football as a base and the topic i chose was to put "sensor inside the ball for offside detection" but after some searches i found out it was already implemented and patented . it’d be great to hear what this community thinks.
We’ve already seen some amazing advancements like VAR, goal-line technology, and wearable trackers for player performance. But what about the next big thing?
If you could introduce a new technology or innovation in football that hasn’t been implemented yet, what would it be?
Interested in football and data/statistics?
I have looked at todays matchup:
And it seems to be a small advantage to Liverpool based on MCI's "poor" form.
Who do you think will take it?
I’ve noticed a growing trend of American influencers taking an interest in football and the surrounding culture, and I have to say, I’m not really a fan. While it’s great to see the sport gaining more global attention, sometimes it feels more like a trend-chasing exercise rather than genuine appreciation for the game and its deep-rooted traditions.
Football is more than just a spectacle—it’s a culture, a passion, and a way of life for so many. It’s a bit disheartening when it feels like it’s being used as a backdrop for content rather than respected for what it is. Just a personal take, curious to hear others' thoughts!
Somthing about me:
I’m originally from India and have played football my entire life. The sport has given me so much, and I’ve devoted a lot to it in return. I support Arsenal (with American owners) and East Bengal (which almost fell into the hands of the Glazers).
While I recognise that American investment—driven by large-scale capitalism—brings significant money into the sport, some trends genuinely concern me. For example, the idea of leagues playing official matches in foreign countries feels like a threat to the sanctity of the game. It risks undermining the local traditions and integrity that make football special.
When it comes to football media, I mostly follow UK and European creators who respect the culture of the sport—none of the overly commercialised or cringeworthy content.
Great peak at a young age but all physically washed up at the age of 26? His recent performances have been underwhelming, to say the least. His once unmatched pace and clinical finishing seem to have lost their edge. It's as if the weight of expectations has finally caught up with him. With every missed opportunity and lackluster performance, it becomes clearer that Mbappe's prime may have already passed.
His attitude is arrogant, and his impact on the team minimal. It's time for Madrid to take a firm stance and sell him to a club that can handle his ego and maximize his potential. Enough with the drama, the choking, and the underperformance. It's time for a fresh start, for both Mbappe and Madrid.
Disclaimer: Only post-golden era
People often call La Masia the best academy when players get promoted, play well for a few games, and then fade away.
I wonder if they’ve truly followed these players’ progress. I’ve seen many youngsters come up with lots of hype, only to fall short. Yes, La Masia gives opportunities, but that’s not enough to call it the best. Look at examples like Ansu Fati, Riqui Puig, Moriba, Nico, Eric Garcia, and Abde—they’ve all struggled to meet expectations.
Their talent identification for non-La Masia players is also questionable.
As for the current crop, players like Hector, Balde, Fermin, and others are likely to follow the same fate (in my opinion). The only one with real potential is Yamal, but the pressure of early success, playing too many games, and high expectations could break him before he reaches his peak.
What is the increasing obsession with people focussing on Ronaldo greater than Messi, Debruyne/Hazard , Salah/Bale or whoever:whoever. Is it not possible to enjoy the fact these incredible footballers all have lit up the game and we should enjoy seeing them play? It’s seems a recent ish phenom….strange row waste time on… thoughts?
When you watched his Barcelona you were mesmerized by their football, it was total football, their opponents didn't stand a chance sometimes. 15 years later when you watch City's games, and unless it is a big game where they are forced more, they are a bit boring to watch even though the principles of the tactics are similar but not exactly the same. Why?
Is it simply that the play makers of that barcelona team were xavi and Iniesta and on Man. City it seems the same roles have been taken by CBs like Gvardiol and Akanji? Is it that Guardiola became more defensive and ball possessions oriented after many defeats in europe?
Can we finally stop saying Serie A is defensive and boring? That idea might’ve been true like 20 years ago, but it’s so outdated now.
The new generation of coaches—like Spalletti, Pioli, De Zerbi and many others—have completely changed the way Italian teams play. Now it’s all about attacking football, pressing high, possession, and lots of goals.
Serie A today is one of the most exciting leagues in Europe. So yeah, maybe it’s time to stop with the "catenaccio" stereotype. What do you guys think?
I know they probably have overhead angles and stuff as well but the majority of the time they’re standing up in the technical area watching from that angle. Always wondered how they go about identifying weaknesses and tweaking their tactics from that angle.
I get that Jude Bellingham is being asked to play a “deeper role” at times, but let’s not act like that’s an excuse for his piss poor showing against Liverpool yesterday. A player of his caliber should be able to adapt and still influence the game, especially after the standards he set last season.
Last year, Bellingham showed he could be among the best players in the world. His performances for Madrid and even England at times proved he could dominate games, whether it was scoring, creating, or driving his team forward. He was a step above the likes of Musiala, Wirtz, Foden, and others we constantly compare him to.
But games like the one against Liverpool remind us he still has areas to improve. His touch was off, his passing was safe, 0 creativity, bad box prescense… Instead of making excuses about his role, we should acknowledge that a truly elite player performs regardless of where they’re placed on the pitch. If he wants to cement himself as the clear standout of this generation, games like this one can’t happen. I feel like he needs a few more big game CL receipts.
What do you think—is the criticism fair, or is the “deeper role” argument valid?
