Hello

Hello. I have just stumbled upon this subreddit, and gee am I happy I did. I love elephant seals. I respect, fear and also laugh at them. They are truly awesome creatures and I hope to help your subreddit grow.

Incidents of Aggression

Hey everyone I am really interested in stories involving interactions between humans and elephant seals. I understand that the bulls can be quite unpleasant when provoked and that they can move much faster than one would expect on land.

Could anyone point me to some articles/books/videos documenting attacks on humans or really anything else interesting regarding human/elephant seal interactions?

Thank you!

Is it true that seals and sea lions have the foulest-smelling breath of any animal?

I've heard that from a zookeeper. Anyone know if true? Any first-hand experience? xD
