Is there a way to find entries on Discogs on the Pan Am Records label that have reviews? I used the advanced search to narrow it down a bit, but can I do more than that?
I want to know what their pressings are like in general. They press at GZ Media which is the 1st red flag to me.
I purchased a used 2-vinyl release for €18 with €7 euro shipping from Spain to Germany. I had bought an order from Spain recently and recognized shipping was like €13.
At first seller said he was having trouble finding the record, and then said he found it. I told him I quite wanted the record, and he said the post office in Spain is quoting him €20 for shipping. He seems weird, sending like a dozen full paragraph messages asking about the artists and if they are growing in popularity where I am but his seller rating is 100% with a good amount of sales.
He has my payment and is requesting for me to send him an addition €13 for shipping. Am I getting worked over here? Is shipping a 2 vinyl release really €20 from Spain to Germany right now?
I've got lots of 70s and 80s vinyl that I'd like to start disappearing of. What are the advantages and disadvantages of selling via Discogs, eBay or record shops?
Are different methods better for different kinds of things?
Just getting back into discogs, have an old inventory of vinyl I want to reactivate. Created a per item standard shipping policy but will probably eventually reprice everything for free shipping. In the meantime how do I offer free shipping on a per item basis? Eg, for CDs?
I've been dealing with some issues in regards to a negative buyer review that was left on my profile and I need some advice.
A few months back I placed an order from this seller that said they could add more items to it if I placed another order. The order in question was coming from another country and was estimated to take seven days to ship with an additional seven to deliver. I was going to space my orders out since they were kinda pricey, but I really didn't have to wait two weeks a second time so I ended up placing another order a few days later and made sure to notify them in the chat underneath the first.
A week has passed since I'd got the automated message on both of my orders and I hadn't gotten any sort of update from the seller, so I sent a message in one of the order chats asking about it followed by the other after a day or two, neither of these messages were given a response. After another few days I tried DMing the seller asking about the order, thinking it might get their attention. Luckily it did, and they sent me an order number. One order number, the second one.
My first order still had no order number attached, so I sent a message in the chat asking if this number was supposed to cover both orders. They did not respond. I get the second order in the mail a few days later and was met with my first order not being included. I sent another direct message immediately and they finally gave me the tracking number. My second order came within the promised two week time period, but it took two weeks for my first order to even ship along with an additional six to deliver. That's twenty days in total, my package arrived late.
Now if that were the only issue then I wouldn't have been as mad, but combine that with the fact they never shipped the orders together like they promised and the bare minimum in terms of communication I was given through out the experience, I was not happy with the service they provided. So I did the only sensible thing to do in that situation, I left a negative review detailing exactly what happened.
This was quickly followed by a response to the review along with a message in one of the order chats. They asked me where I asked to have my stuff delivered together and if my order arriving six days past the day I was promised was "so late" along with accusing me of "overlooking their efforts to compensate for the delay", granted I'm not sure how that's my fault when I was basically told nothing by them. So I pointed out where and when I said it and pointed out why I left the negative review in no uncertain terms. They continued to insist that it was successfully delivered within the three week time period (a time that was absolutely not promised) and they recommend I "choose other good sellers". So I did, I took my business elsewhere and dropped the conversation figuring it would go nowhere.
All went on as normal until about three weeks ago, when I was trying to add items to my cart only to be hit with a notification that my buyer score was too low. I checked on my profile to see a recent review from the seller, saying that I complained about my orders not being combined after not saying anything about wanting so (I did, and even if I didn't they never said I had to explicitly tell them) along with them lying about the items being delivered in the time frame they made up.
I immediately sent a DM to them telling them that the information posted in the review was wrong, calmly explained how it was wrong, and politely requesting the review be removed from my profile. They immediately fired back accusing me of "feedback extorsion" and told me to remove mine first. Keep in mind there was absolutely no threat whatsoever in that message and they were actively preventing me from buying from certain people. I immediately called out their behavior and told them that I shouldn't have to threaten them to take down the review because any seller with any sense of integrity should just do the right thing and not lie about people who leave bad reviews.
They respond asking where I asked for my orders to be combined, mind you this was something I pointed out multiple times at this point. So I send a message outlining the exact days and times I sent every message relating to the order combination in a way so clear cut that absolutely nobody could be confused by it. They ended up refunding the money for the shipping on one of the orders. At first I was under the impression that everything was good and that this person finally owned up to their mistakes and was willing to make things right. In response I sent a message expressing my gratitude for the refund and changed my negative review to a positive one to accurately reflect my experience.
As days passed however, the review on my profile never went away. I've messaged them three times since the refund and none of them have yielded a response. They always messaged back within a day, so that leads me to believe that they're actively ignoring me at this point.
Discogs staff has been absolutely no help with this situation either. I left a long message along with all the evidence to prove my case to Discogs support only to be told they don't deal with disputes involving reviews. So that left me to use the appeal feature on the main site and had to compress everything into less than 250 letters. It's been a week since I sent the appeal and I still haven't gotten a response.
I'm honestly at a loss for what to do at this point. The seller hasn't cooperated, Discogs staff seemingly has no intentions of stepping in, and I'm still feeling the review's affects. What's the next step from here? Do I start over and make a new account? Do I contact someone else on the site? Do I send another DM? Do I just put my negative review back and see if they respond? Do I just try to wait the appeal out? I'm honestly confused and not very happy at the whole situation, in anyone knows how to help then please tell me what I can do.
I've been using discogs for a few years now to buy records. But now I'm going to be moving from the UK to Australia next year and I won't be able to take all of my records with me. Does anyone have any advice for the best way to sell my records? I want to package them properly and everything, but I'm also concerned about buying a load of packaging in case my records don't sell. Any tips for a first time seller would be greatly appreciated.
I'm trying to make it work so that a search from the new collection page https://www.discogs.com/user/USERNAME/collection brings me to https://www.discogs.com/user/USERNAME//collection which is the old style page but not having any success so far.
Hey guys, so, it my first time trying to buy a vynil, and I know I am supposed to talk to the seller, and I did, but I don’t know much about it, like, how I’m going to be informed of the customs I have to pay? Is it like on amazon? I also heard about some people marking on the package a lower price, so the product does not get taxed, is this allowed? Does it work? Help please. Some tips would be appreciated to.
Time is currently 0846 Central Time. Every time I try to open Paypal to checkout, Paypal opens up but then kicks me (the window closes).
ANyone else experiencing this? Thanks
I saw someone mention that links are being blocked by Discogs in messages from reaching recipients, are email addresses also being blocked? I typically include my email address when asking sellers for pictures of an item before purchasing if it’s a high value item.
I’ve sent several emails to a seller about an expensive item and haven’t heard back, which could mean they’re just lazy, which seems strange when someone is trying to buy from you. And they have plenty of feedback so I’m not concerned it’s a spam account.
Is around 2 weeks that I have all the website upside down, someone knows how to fix it, or why this is happening?
Hey all.
First - yes, this is a new account. If the buyer happens to see this, I'm not trying to dox myself.
Second - Would love some advice, as I'm sure this isn't the first instance like this. Here's what happened...
Now for my questions/advice needed. I want to leave negative feedback for the buyer so other sellers don't also get ripped off in the future. My concern is that he'll retaliate with negative feedback, and I have few enough seller feedback reviews that it will make an impact. I'm also concerned that Discogs lack of support will leave me blowing in the wind if the buyer negs me to retaliate and I submit a request to have that removed.
Any thoughts? Let sleeping dogs lie and hope I win the PayPal re-dispute? Or should I go ahead with the negative feedback?
I'm wanting to warn others and lower this dude's buyer rating, because he's a scheming asshole and deserves it. I'm just hesitant to trust Discogs to deal with it if he pulls a douche-move and 'negs' my feedback after he's already tried to rip me off.
P.S. Fuck this guy right in the eye. I hope he gets robbed on the subway this weekend, wherever he is. Yeah, I'm salty about this...

Please Help!
Seems like I might have something that is pretty rare or at worst a pressing plant fuck up.
So I have a few import/live concert recordings, which show as unofficial releases and can not be sold. In the comments on the release page, someone commented that they wanted the release. I don't want to do anything to get banned on the platform, but I do want to sell these and it would be cool to see them go to someone who took the time to try and hunt them down.
Anyone have any experience with this? Leave it alone? Reach out, how? Any feedback/recommendations would be appreciate. Thanks.
Hello, is it possible to contact the seller before purchasing a record and ask him a few questions?
So i signed up, put my inventory in , saw the “pending” notification in the inventory, and seemed like all was good and was in a waiting period. today i seem to be banned . No message from discogs, unable to login to support because I’m banned. No message in my gmail or discogs inbox. No way to contact them. Seriously , what’s going on over there ? I’ve never seen such incompetence. Can’t even contact them. How does someone contact them while banned (for no reason)
I have a new user (no purchasing feedback) ordering a record from me. It's a relatively cheap record. <$15. He's saying his address in the system is not correct and it won't let him change it. He's sent me, in a message, the correct address. City, State and Zip are the same but the to is different, both the old one and new one being a little strange. What's the risk in me sending it to the address he messaged me with instead of the address in discogs? How can I get screwed? TIA.
I am new to using Discogs and I am curious about what the general accepted etiquette is for the site and community. I will mainly be using the site as a buyer, and I would like to understand what should and should not be expected from sellers.
For example, what is acceptable to ask a seller through the messages feature? Should I be asking certain questions before going through with a purchase?
Just want to make sure that I won't be stepping on anyones toes when buying records, and also cover my own bases so I don't end up buying something that I didn't expect. Thanks everyone.
Anyone else getting popups for Discogs articles? Like whack-a-mole, close one and another opens.
Had to stop selling today. Got an order for a single record -not high value but intl. shipping. After the fees I'd get about half of what I listed it for, so its not worth the hassle of packing, customs forms, trip to the post office.
Do many of you hobby sellers only sell in your own countries? Does it make sense to keep going with price/policy adjustments? As a seller I'd have to hike prices so high for intl. shipping it would suck the joy out of it for buyers.
Hello everyone! I come across allot of N/A in the description does that mean “not available” or something else? If it means not available why do they put it up for offer?
Built a fun tool for Discogs! 🎶
Who out there shares your taste in music? I’m working on a tool that connects you with people who have at least 10+ releases in common with your collection. Once matched, you can explore each other’s music libraries and discover gems from other like-minded listeners.
No algorithms, no fluff—just authentic music exchange, like back in the day. It’s all about finding those hidden gems through real people.
I tested this on Discogs and found some surprising matches:
When I look at my catalog listing with details, the selection margin down the left side (mobile version website) has some selections shaded with orange, some with grey, and some just white. Does this mean anything?
Hello guys, as the tittle implies.
How can i do this? there is a filter for sure and i know a few people who did this but how is it possible? looking for all the stuff with no year!!
thanks in advance!!
Recently recieved my first negative hit after years of using the platform and realized some sellers wont sell to someone under 99% positive feedback. Its been more than a month after submitting a feedback removal.
After an entire week the seller told me they were missing multiple items in my order. Told them it was rude to take a week to notify me of the error and to cancel my order. The seller ended up cursing me out and sending me the refund.
Then I noticed the feedback. It claimed I called the stores within three hours of asking for a refund, only one item in my order was missing, and that I yelled at them "Your holding my money hostage". Complete insanity. Not a single truthful statement here.
I left negative feedback and it got removed. All it said was "Seller left untruthful negative feedback, cursed me out, and took a whole week to notify me that they did not have most of my order."
Sorry for my language. Am I just fucked? Permanently stuck with defamatory feedback? I should of had the hindsight of not ordering from the seller. They had alot of negative feedback with unhinged comments attached. Simply thought the couple thosand positive outweighed it.
Update: Literally hours after posting this, the feedback was removed. Crazy.
Has anyone added a new entry into Discogs? I just got a new vinyl but mine in a limited edition camo print and discogs didn’t show my edition. I made a new entry but while I entered the barcode into the correct section when I try to scan it it still says no match was found or if I type in the album it doesn’t show in the see all versions. Just curious as to what I may have done wrong in creating the new entry?
I have recently finally got all my vinyl onto discogs. A good portion of it is jazz. With a lot of jazz recordings a lot of the musicians who have released solo LPs also get credits on other musician's LPs. It got me wondering, which musician features the most in my collection. Is there a way to get to this from Discogs? Seems like the data would exist as each musician is tagged on the LP page.
I know that correlation doesn't necessarily imply causation, but in this case, I think we can come to the solid conclusion that Discogs' infuriating cookie popup is firmly to blame for the drop in vinyl sales worldwide.
Your move Discogs. Maybe you should just offer free shipping if you want to see more sales happen on your platform?
