What type of colored pencils are best for the paper of your typical coloring book?

I ask this because I wanted to do some coloring a while back and purchased a wax pencil set (Black Widow brand). I don’t know the terminology but they do not seem right for the medium. The colors are very light/not bright and vibrant. Also there is kind of a tactile ickiness that I don’t like the feel. I think people might know what I mean…like the way the pencil moves across the paper is like nails on a chalkboard; so not very relaxing. I’d like something more closer to charcoal or a canyon but still a pencil. Any tips. Thanks.

Looking for opinions. Coloring book creation.

I want to create a coloring book. I made one page so far and thought "I should get more data before continuing."

So, I invite the coloring book community to express what they like and dislike about coloring pages.

To me, I want people who really get the full experience of coloring books to have a chance to gain a close to perfect book.

I like to color in them occasionally, but find I really like drawing. So I'm looking to you professionals to help.

With the new rise in ai coloring books, I would like to create something that's meaningful and not just thrown together.

Here are some questions I could think of but feel free to add whatever comes to mind.

Background:

  1. Do you like blank spaces?

  2. Do you like more detailed images that tell a scene and take up the page, or do you like more simple images that is like isolated pieces of art?

  3. Should the blank space be reserved for a drawing page with decorative boarder?

General:

[A] Should I mix line thickness or keep it unified? [Clarification] Should I make lines thicker for overall shape and thinner for details?

[B] Do you like unified coloring books, or one with multiple/random subjects?

[C] Do you prefer one sided pages for displaying or to color on both front and back?

[D] Do you like side margins or top margins? (Where the pages all come together/ the part you would trim to get the page out)

Bonus important question if you can answer it: How do you feel about cardstock? This is what I will be printing on.

Once again feel free to imput whatever comes to mind. The questions are here out of my own curiosity. If you feel the need to answer some but not all I don't mind. Any advice would be welcomed.

I can't upload images for some reason.
