22lbs and feisty

Was setting up for another video out on the broad river, this dude took my line and ran, managing to get him up a 6ft bank was tough but I'm always happy to land a fish. Gamekatsu 7/0 Circle hook on a sort of Santee Cooper Rattle Rig. We may start producing our own soon!

Weight guesses??

I caught this chonker out of my mom’s lake, and my scale said 17lbs. However when I posted this I got dragged in the comments saying it was way smaller. For context I’m 5,10, could my scale be off? I’m fairly new to catfishing and I’ve never caught a channel this big so I really don’t know. thanks in advance:)

Dragging question…?

For those of y’all that drag baits for catfish, do you think you catch more, less, or an equal amount of big fish doing that versus drifting or fishing in one spot?

Lately, I’ve been catching large quantities of smaller fish (5-15 lbs) while dragging baits (mostly cut perch), but don’t seem to get bites from many larger fish this way. I’ve caught fish up to 52 lbs before this way (it was on a crappie head), but those bigger fish seem few and far between. Just thought I’d survey others to get some feedback. Thanks!

What footwear

I usually fish in old sneakers or flip flops from the bankbut have been thinking about switching to some style of boot. Since I bank fish it can get muddy and then there's the occasional broken bottle. Was just wondering what other bank fisherman wear??

What catfish do I have?

Caught them in the spring pretty sure they were bullheads. Gonna grow them up to be fish guy and old bait eaters. And pretty hearty fish after looking them up. Caught a few. Got too cold to be in the garage so I brought them in.

Think it's worth throwing some cutbait here for a few hours? Water Temps should be in the upper 40s.

HELP CATCHING- middle georgia area

I can not for the life of me catch a catfish, I have such bad luck. I recently have tried using chicken livers with garlic tied up in pantyhose at the ocmulgee river (amerson river park), and I got a few bites but no takers. I tried live bait once [I could only catch 1 bluegill :( ] and the fish tied itself up on a log or something because I lost the rig Tomorrow I'm going to go down to lake tobesofkee and try my luck with the liver. Any tips? ANYTHING HELPS

catfishing tips?

temperatures are starting to drop in alabama and catfishing has been a bit slower, what are some good tips to catch more? fishing off the bank into a big lake so how do i really know where they’re all hanging out? i’ve been using soaked cut bait and pre molded dough bait but is there anything that would get their attention better at this time? how about live bait? i’m fairly new to fishing and hope i can still catch in this weather lol
