/r/CasualPokemon
The place for casual Pokémon trading and battling.
INFO/RULES
/r/casualpokemon is your community for all things related to Pokémon breeding, trading, and battling, but in an atmosphere welcoming to all skill levels.
Here you can post trade requests, look for Wi-Fi battles, get tips and advice, and generally connect with other players.
Here's what's NOT allowed:
No trade requests for 2 IV+ Pokémon. Hidden Ability trades, and specific nature trades are welcome, within reason. A Pokécheck system is coming, but we're still working on it. In case of Pokétheft through trade contact the mods.
Smogon sets are welcome, but we encourage people to play with Pokémon they like, not just Pokémon that are "strong". Any harassment will get you the banhammer.
When requesting a battle, please state in the body of your request whether your Pokemon have been EV trained, IV bred, etc. This allows players to choose the skill level at which they will be battling.
Any Attempts to sell Pokemon for real-world money, or other goods and services, is outside the spirit of r/CasualPokemon and not allowed. First Offense will get your post removed, and a warning. Second Offense is a permaban. Please use /r/PokemonExchange.
Follow the reddiquette

Who wants to battle
1: What is the point in specifying what game a Pokémon can travel to in the GTS? Isn’t that determined by species? E.g. I deposit a Pokémon & say I’m looking for a Cranidos, under “Games it can travel to” I can select BDSP or Legends: Arceus. Is there any quality a Cranidos could have that could prevent it from being able to go to one game or the other?
2: I haven’t been able to find anything about this, but in the messages at the bottom is there a community lingo of sorts? E.g. if I say “I want to trade for a Pokémon that is strong in battles” I’m looking for an Alpha, but if I say “Please trade Pokémon with me. Thanks in advance” it means I only want something pre-Gen 8, or with a very punny name?
In the picture I’ve circled both the things I’m talking about.

Looking to trade flapple for appletun
Well, personally I am a hardcore Pokemon fan since I was three, so ever since I had the pokemon sword on my Nintendo Switch, I was so pumped up to get trading pokemon around the continent with other players. But here's the problem (however if you have pokemon home/ GO/ Discord in your cell phone and that's fine, you can ignore this if you want to), which is really hard to get the ideal pokemon you really desired to get because you cannot communicate with the other guy who might come from another place using Nintendo Switch. SO here are some tips ( there are five of them)for anybody who wants to complete entire their Pokedex after months of me playing the game itself during the epidemic and hopefully this sharing can help you a lot and have fun.

I hope that my tips and advice can help you guys out by preventing any one of you to step onto the same mistakes that I have made in the past and enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks

any cool shinies, nothing in particular :)
Don't really intend on keeping the Reshiram whrn I restart cuz I won't be able to use it for most of my game, so might as well trade it for a Pokémon I want. PM me if interested
I came across this server and noticed that it welcomes casual battling. I know by the looks of it FFA's (Free-For-All's) are pretty much not a thing anymore but I was wondering if anyone here does them.
