Rules
  1. BE NICE TO EACH OTHER:

The mod team has a zero tolerance policy on any racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc. remarks. Any hate speech against any religion, race, gender, or sexual orientation or just being excessively rude will result in a permanent ban.

  • ELO TAGGING:

  • All links to replays should begin with the ELO captured in square brackets such as [1534]. The ELO can be found in the bottom left corner of a replay, or by using the lower of the two rankings after a battle. If no ELO is present, please use your best guess or use [????].

  • SUBMITTING A TEXT POST:

  • The text format is for sharing a replay(s) centered around questions/discussion (i.e. using a replay to support the topic), teambuilding, or general discussion of PS exclusively. Theorymon posts are not allowed.

  • SUBMITTING A LINK POST:

  • The link format is for sharing replays directly. Please see Rule 2 for formatting the title correctly.

  • CONTENT:

  • Refrain from posting stale content. This includes replays with low effort sweeps, or where your opponent is rude. A close loss is more exciting than an easy win.

  • ADVERTISEMENTS:

  • Please no Twitch/Youtube (and the like) advertisements, leagues and tournaments may advertise using the stickied post.

I want to build a DOU team featuring Spiritomb. What’s the best build for it and what should I give it as a partner Pokémon?

My original plan was to make it a Pursuit trapper but given the fact Pursuit is banned, I knew that wouldn’t be possible.

I’ve got a Specially Defensive one at the moment, with Sucker Punch, Foul Play, Will-O-Wisp and Disable. I’ve given it the Figy Berry and Infiltrator too.

Showdown Random Battle (Gen 3) is the most inconsistent game I've ever played

The timing and frequency of crits, misses, paralysis, sleep length, damage, team matchups. So hard to comprehend what you're going to get every game.

In-game I decide if its worth my mental energy to work through a match where so much bs is happening.

Normally if I stay determined I actually come out on top but feel exhausted after- then I play again :/

https://pokepast.es/300fcbf40692c8fc (I started playing only a few days ago, I have no idea what I'm doing)

It's for ubers btw (It's completely obvious but the bot said I should include the tier so, yeah)

Trying to ladder with this team but having issues past 1300 rating - is it a skill issue or a team issue?

    https://pokepast.es/eaef38f5be94c725

This is a pretty standard sticky web offense team for gen 9 OU that I came up with, and I always use ribombee as a suicide lead, with a first turn sticky web and a second turn stun spore if I'm facing an attacker/spinner with tera ghost, or skill swap if I'm facing a utility mon like gliscor.

The rest of the team is just optimized for setup sweeping. Is this a good team strategy?

    Is this team annoying?

(New player here) After I won a battle against a guy, he said on chat something like "I can't help but give applause to your team despite how deplorable your strategies are" (I took it as a compliment lol)

Is it really an annoying team? It's basically just a bunch of ideas I put together in a team.

    Showdown music volume?

I've been playing on showdown for years, and I'm not sure if it's just a me issue, but every time I get into a game, I have to turn the volume way way down, for reference, usually it sits at 60% but on showdown I often have to turn it down to 20-25% Is there a volume slider on the site that I missed?

Can you help me improve this 7G OU team ?

    https://pokepast.es/bcf642a693a47342

7G OU is by far my favorite tier (tied with 9G PU), and I would love to learn how to teambuild and be able to play with "my creation", because until now, I mostly used Sample or teams from other player. (Also i'm pretty bad, all-time peak is around 1450 with a fake stall)

I've never bien a good teambuilder, but once again I try. Here is a team I built, and I know it's far from perfection. Can you please help me improve this team ? The only thing I really want to keep is Technician Breloom, because I love Breloom, and I don't want to use Poison Heal.

    Thanks in advance !

    OU or Ubers?

So I've been playing in Ubers cause I thought it was normal and logical. Now I see a way to many people asking about OU than Ubers and I'm confused about why there are more OU players than Ubers. Is it cause their favorite pokemon are in OU? Should I be playing OU too?

Why are most of the ‘Other Metagames’ using the Gen 9 dex and not National Dex?

I really wanna use some goofy and fun strats with my favourite mons in metagames like Anything Goes, Almost Any Ability, Inheritance etc but almost none of my favourite Pokémon are in Gen 9 (cheers Gamefreak). Why aren’t these metas Nat Dex?
