Is there any economically feasible alternative to the commuter train to London?

As title suggests, would like a cheaper way to get to London everyday. I work in Central London Mon-Fri. I can get to my place of work easily from King's Cross, the commute itself isn't awful (though not great) but the cost is unsustainable. Does anyone know of a cheaper way, for example a station to drive to and park at that is cheap enough to make the fuel worth it? Or anyone wanna car pool to this mythical station with me haha!

Edit: forgot to mention commute includes a ten minute bike ride to and from station from South Cambridge

Security tag removal

I bought a jumper at Bicester but they forgot to take the security tag out. Does anyone know if any shops in Cambridge use this type and can remove it for me!?

Kans Zaman vs Little Petra restaurants

Looking to have a sitdown meal with the family and wondered if anyone has experience with both and could comment on any preference? Noticed LP has a lot more feedback but believe that is due to KSM being newer

Where to find free menstrual products?

I’ve seen some schemes online that gives residents free period products but I’m not sure where to actually find them.

The sanitary products sold at supermarkets have become really expensive for me and the quality is poor. If anyone knows where I can access freely available and easily accessible sanitary products, that would be really helpful.

Is there a meetup for this sub?

I'm thinking of meeting new people, possibly even a regular pub evening or coffee situation after work - is there something like this already that's casual and easy to join, or am I the change I want to see in the world?

Best nature spots to find wreath decor

So this year has sucked a total load of donkey and I want to do something nice and festive that also connects with nature without causing any damage. Are there any good spots to find pine cones/needles, berries, holly bushes, anything like that? Serious answers only - I'm talking a year of people dying on me left, right and centre, financial worries, health problems, rejection etc - I just want to do something nice that I can feel proud of once I'm done!

Love theatre? Musicals? Opera? Ballet? Music? Want to see more in Cambridge?

A volunteer-run, established digital publication - is looking for reviewers between the age of 20-40 to attend shows, and write reviews following the show. No experience writing reviews is required as we're looking to provide accessible reflections to others within this age demographic.  Good English is a must but we're not writing essays - reviews are usually 400-600 words and we do provide a star rating.  The main T & C is that reviews must be submitted to the editor for review within 36 hrs - we aim to publish all reviews within 48hrs to provide theatres/productions with ample time to use our reviews in promotion. All shows would be comped - usually 1 ticket, sometimes we're lucky and you can have a second for a friend.  Reliability is a must but we understand sometimes things happen and all we ask is communication with the Editor in these instances. If you are interested please drop me a message.

Repair café or hackerspace

I’m moving away and want to donate a few bits of equipment (pretty basic) for electronics repairs to an active repair cafe or hacker space that is helping the community.

Any hints?

Those looking to buy from the new waterbeach housing estate..

Don't. I live with someone working on the site building these houses, and it's shocking.

There is so much shoddy workmanship all over the site, and wrong materials used for fire safety and insulation. It's bad, and it haunts us both to think about the poor sods who will end up living in them. Especially as these are not just inconvenient issues for the homeowners, but potentially life threatening. The companies involved are aware, and they made it clear they are not interested in hearing about it. This is sadly also nothing new or special in this sector.

I've reported it, alongside evidence to the relevant people, so I can only hope now that someone will catch it before someone is living in them.

Drumsheds transport

Hello,

I will be going to Drumsheds (near Tottenham) on Fri 13th Dec. The event finishes at 3am, anyone know of a cheaper way to make up some of the distance at that time or is it no chance and just going to be taxi back? Thanks!

Just curious has the earl of Beaconsfield closed down? Everytime I have walked past there in the past few weeks it has been shut at all hours of the day/night.

Car Theft

I had some stuff stolen from my car around the newmarket road area by the football stadium. Happened sometime on Friday or Saturday this week. Any info would be appreciated. Laptop is a surface go with some stickers on the top, including some studio ghibli stuff, coffee companies, and one that says "manifest that shit"

I’m looking for a fishmonger in Cambridge that keeps and sells the bones and heads after filleting fish. Only tried Waitrose so far, they don’t.
