Hello, is there a stargazing/skywatcher group in Northstowe? Or if anyone would be interested in joining if a new one is created?
The town is still remote and some nights could provide good conditions for stargazing.

Hi we’re a couple planning to move to Northstowe.
I see a lot of properties being sold in the area, could there be a reason to that? How’s Northstowe like during summer? We went to visit around noon time and surprised how hot it was, though it’s just spring.
Also, which mobile provider has the best signal? Three has one bar when we visited.
Looking forward to your responses. Thanks in advance!
Hi, we are in the process of purchasing a property in Northstowe. However, the search indicating that the property in a high risk of subsidence. It's a new build. We are a bit disappointed and worried about the situation, but since a lot of properties in Northstowe might also considered at a high risk of subsidence, interested to know if someone else has any similar experience? Any reported incidence yet?
Seems like a bit dead.
My partner and I are in the early stages of a first home. We've had our eye on Northstowe for a while - it is the compromise of size, price options and proximity to Cambridge with decent transport links.
Of what we have seen as available on the various developers websites, we're quite interested in one from Linden - but I'm apprehensive. Unfortunately developers like Taylor Wimpey are out of our approx £400k price range for a 3-4 bed.
The Trust Pilot reviews are overwhelmingly negative with only 2 stars (Vs 4 star for TW) but that's with a significantly lower number of reviews (<500 Vs 6k+).
We will get to chatting with the developer shortly but I just wondered if anyone had any insight on buying with them and in particular the aftercare and dealing with any issues?
Plus, anything else useful to know as a first time buyer!!
We live in neighbouring Oakington but really want to upsize. Does anyone know what the garden sizes are like for the different developers? Like is there one which generally provides a larger plot?
We currently have a 3 bed terrace but a large (12m+) garden, 2 car driveway and garage so I don't want to downgrade on that but it's hard to tell from their listings on Rightmove what the outside space is like. Many thanks in advance
After vowing never to buy a new build because of the horror stories you read, we're actually quite taken by one of the models at Northstowe (It's a David Wilson home). We haven't seen the site or a showhome yet.
My question is that do these houses look as good as the pictures? I've read that developers do terrible quality tiling, is that true of this brand? What do you actually get as standard, is there flooring and lawn included? If I'm bothering to buy a new build I don't want to move into a partially finished house, though nor do I want to pay over the odds for a tiny selection of poor fittings. I'm also worried about walking into the house and finding that details aren't what I thought, eg a fully tiled bathroom instead of part tile part wall. Do they go through every tiny detail like that?
Thanks for any advice.
Hi all, we’re excitedly are moving to Northstowe in the next two weeks and from Cambridge and I wanted to find out if anyone has any recommended movers.

Hi guys, do you think buying a 5 bed detached house is a good investment in Northstowe? We are going to live there and wondering how is the area? Thanks
Hi all, my partner and I were thinking of buying a house in Northstowe as we are looking for a family home and want to move out of city centre Cambridge. I wanted to ask for an opinion of how it is living in Northstowe and also how it is to get convenient local amenities. Also, both my partner and i drive and my partner works in Cambridge so how long as an estimate would it take to make it into Cambridge by car or bus and what the traffic is like at different times (rush hour etc). I'd really appreciate any info i could get cheers!
