Cam is on my stand tree. Got up in the tree at 5 this morning, buddy showed up 30 minutes later an hour before legal shooting time.... it's like they know lol
That is all. Happy hunting!
I'm looking to get my first longbow. I'm about 5'10 and my reach is 29.60 after doing the math. Being a 3 under shooter what size longbow is right for me if I want it to be a little on the longer side?**
Looking for a camera, thinking a GoPro or similar for hog hunting with my bow.
I’d like multiple angles, attaching to a tree to view hunter is easy enough. For chest/head mount does anyone have any experience or found what works best for good shot videos?
I’ve been eyeing this harness and j see it has great reviews but the disclaimer for the magnets throwing off compasses worries me. Has anyone experienced this harness actually messing with their compass?
Alot of new hunters will be passing through the sub over the next few weeks. We should extend helpful info on how just not to hunt, but also deal with post hunt. Just a suggestion. Lets grow our community with good info and a helpful hand.
I need to vent I broke two fingers at work this morning.. on both of my hands. My pinky on my right, and my middle finger on my left.. is a broken bones a reason to use a crossbows untill I’m healed up?
Hunt in Arkansas/Texas. Going to be warmer but will get pretty chilly late season.
Do you use a lineman's belt to tie off once your in the stand? If so how?
I bought 3 cheap hang on stands last year and loved hunting from them but they were too heavy to be mobile, so i bought a XOP cold world with X2 climbing sticks this year to be able to jump around to different spots. last year i just used a lifeline type system to tie off which was great for permanaent set ups, but that won't be simple to setup with my new mobile setup.
Was really excited and far more nervous than I thought I’d be, thank you Big Girl.
I had posted a while ago about hunting in a tree stand during high winds, 8-20 mph with gusts 35+. I'm a little sketched out to sit in my tree stand, but I'm thinking about just hauling a gray metal folding chair into my woods and posting up somewhere on the ground.
I have a good idea of where to sit with good visibility into my little clover plot, but I would be high exposed and will stick out like a sore thumb. What do people think? I'm thinking time in the woods is better than no time and I might get lucky.
Just now getting to where I can consistently hit the smallest spray paint dot I can make with a spray can and am wanting start getting into the mid range of pricing arrows, broadheads and fletchings possibly kit to do my own arrow cutting and so on. Any information/suggestions to help push me in the right way would be amazing
Last night was my first time hunting from the ground without a blind or tree stand. I sat against a tree and didn’t move. I was on public land and tried a random spot. Had a hunter walk past me so I moved 100 yards in the opposite direction he was heading. After sitting two hours right before dark I had a nice 8 point walk right in front of me 20 yards. I flung an arrow and went right over his back. He runs off and puffs twice and then comes right back to me even closer trying to figure out what I am. This time it’s too dark to see my pins so I just sat there waiting for him to leave when two more deer walk in behind him. 3 deer 15 yards away. Eventually one of them blew again and they all ran out but wow it was a rush! I’m hooked now. Can’t wait to go back and not miss this time lol
So I found my arrow I shot at a turkey Fall 22. It’s an Easton Axis. Send it?
I’ve been trying to grow my instagram hunting page for the last couple years but I think I’ve been shadow banned after posting several pictures of dead animals. Ive been bow hunting now for 5 years and am 100% self taught using YouTube as my primary learning resource. I hunt exclusively on public land primarily in Kansas and Missouri but will be heading to Oklahoma next week to hunt for two weeks and will be uploading pictures throughout my hunt. If anyone is interested in following my hunting journey I’d really appreciate you following @the_hunting_freak_inc_ Pic is of last years Kansas archery buck. I
