Make shirts, share them, have fun
A place to post your home made shirts where you have applied your design using a stencil , as well as tips, techniques, and info. We started with a focus on bleach shirts but please feel free to include shirts that include bleach and/or other embelishments ink/dye/fabric paint or pasta sauce.
If you report something please explain why. something pissed you off is not a good reason to report it
If you post someone else's shirt it will be removed, The only content you should post is your own. TLDR: OC only
Spray on, my friends.
VERY IMPORTANT DO NOT MIX BLEACH WITH VINEGAR OR ANYTHING BUT WATER. Here is why
Basically, yes vinegar will stop the bleaching process but it also releases very toxic chlorine gas.
Instead use a bleach neutralizer! Like this

I want to make a sweater or dhirt like this but I don't know what chemicals he is using. Any help is appreciated :)
hi, i got a color that was darker than the image (it’s athletic gray and I expected a lighter gray) and i want to lighten it a bit but not entirely bleach it. is there any method to do this?
thanks in advance!
The design is based on some song lyrics from a band that I've been really inspired by lately.
I'll use black textile paint to fix some of the places where the bleach bled a bit. I'm new to bleach art so it's not perfect, but I'm very happy with the result!
So my side job this year has been making shirts and bleaching with a spray bottle. I always wear nitrile gloves and a respirator with a 3M 6006 filter. I can tell it's working because when I remove it I can smell the bleach I couldn't before.. I always work with my garage door open and try not to linger in the area once I'm done with my respirator off. When I'm rinsing shirts I have the bathroom fan going.
But, I'm still finding I'm getting asthma now and then and I figure it has to be from the bleach particles. I replaced my filters on my respirator when I found I could smell through it and I could feel the effects (lasted around 3 months) Could it be that I'm just sensitive to this after several broncheal burns early on? I appreciate any advice.
I’ve just started taking on commissions and I’m yet to find a solid online stockist based in the UK that offers heavyweight, 70+ percent cotton black hoodies at a decent price. I used amazon when i was first getting into the hobby and found that brands will just send completely different percentages to as advertised, and i don’t want to use amazon now I’m getting regular work from it.
I ordered some from a website that were fruit of the loom but they arrived and feel so thin, cheap and kinda scratchy on the outside! I can’t in good faith sell that to strangers or friends, I want my hoodies to be something you could wear on a cold day and be warm!!
Any help much appreciated!
👍👍👍
Definitely will be making more, truly would recommend anyone to try themselves :D
Can I wash a jacket after bleaching with cold water and fabric detergent?
I have finished the main design on the back, but wanted to add more designs on the sleeves. The jacket has some cat hair on it so I wanted to wash it with detergent, but I'm not sure if that will mess up the fresh bleach i just used.
Should I just do a water only rinse cycle, dry overnight, and then wash with detergent tomorrow?
Is there a way to prevent the bleach from bleeding further than I want it to? A way to create a barrier so that the bleach doesn’t lighten past the border of the image?
This is my first time making bleach art on a shirt. Already sketched the design with chalk. I always wanted to bleach paint a shirt but never got to try it until now. I have gel bleach, the shirts 100% cotton and i have a bunch of synthetic brushes ready but i need some advice. How bright can the fabric get if i use gel bleach straight from the bottle? How can i build layers with bleach diluted with different amounts of water? What can i use to neutralize the bleach after im done so it doesn't eat through the fabric? Does using an iron help to get crispier lines? How should i use it to achieve that result? Should i use a blow dryer? I have some scraps of the same fabric and i’ll patch test it too to know how to work with the bleach :) I'll share the final product when it's done!
I’m trying out bleach painting for the first time and nothing is working. I’m using 4 old 100% cotton t shirts and tried bleach, then a brand new bottle of Target brand bleach (7.5% Sodium Hypochlorite), then Clorox toilet bowl cleaner clinging bleach gel. I don’t know what else to do!
