RULES

No "FOR SALE" posts. Feel free to hawk your wares in our sister subreddit /r/BitMarket - this means no goup buys as well. As common as it is in Bitcoin Mining, it is far to risky to be carried out over reddit.

No verbal abuse. If you don't have anything nice to say, it's best not to say anything at all. Remember, we were all newbies once. Mining isn't exactly a trivial venture.

No Referral Links. No Amazon/eBay referral links. No mining pool referral links. No mining contract referral links. No referral links, period.

No Promoting New Alt Coins. If there is a new alt coin out, this is not the place to discuss or promote it. If you have questions about mining that alt coin, feel free to ask away!

No short-URLs. Nobody should have to trust you before clicking on a link. URL-shortener services serve no use on Reddit as there is nothing restricting the size of your comment string.

No begging. Do not ask for other people to mine for your address. Do not beg for donations simply for lending a helping hand.

Anyone with Experience in Crypto Mining in Norway or Sweden?

Hey everyone,

I’m considering setting up a crypto mining operation in either Norway or Sweden.

Has anyone here mined in one of these countries?

  • What energy supplier do you use?
  • Any legal or regulatory hurdles to be aware of?

Thanks in advance🚀

Cheapest Way to Convert Mining Earnings to EUR/USD?

Hey everyone,

I’m mining with PowerPool and can choose to receive rewards in various coins like BTC, LTC, DOGE, ETH, etc.
I want to convert my earnings to EUR or USD weekly with the lowest possible fees.

What’s the most cost-effective approach?

  • Which coin has the lowest transfer and conversion fees?
  • Are there any exchanges you’d recommend for cheap and efficient conversions?

How do you handle this? I’d really appreciate your insights. Thanks! 🙏

Canaan Avalon Nano 3S vs. Braiins Mini Miner – Which One’s the Better Choice?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to pick up a mini solo miner and trying to decide between the Canaan Avalon Nano 3S and the Braiins Mini Miner. From what I’ve gathered, both seem like solid options for at-home mining, but I’d love to hear from those who have experience with either (or both).

Some of the key things I’m considering:

•	Efficiency & Hashrate – How do they compare in real-world performance? Obviously 1th vs 6th is substantial, and even at 6th the electricity usage wouldn’t be crazy, epically for a lotto ticket every ≈10 minutes

•	Ease of Use – Which one is easier to set up and manage?

•	Reliability – Any known issues or long-term concerns?

•	Best for Solo Mining – Which one gives better odds, considering the network difficulty? I have a feeling even 1th va 6th, it’s all such a long shot.

Would appreciate any insights, personal experiences, or recommendations! I’m really considering the braiins just because the screen is super cool and would make a good bookshelf accessory. Thanks in advance.

ETF Money is Flowing – will which miners Benefit most?

Bitcoin’s $105K breakout is being fueled by massive inflows into Bitcoin ETFs. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) and Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) have seen billions in inflows, adding more institutional FOMO into the market.

With ETFs sucking up supply, mining stocks are becoming even more important. Companies like Marathon, Riot, and Cango (CANG) could see major moves as Bitcoin scarcity increases.

I think Cango is particularly interesting because it’s expanding hash rate while keeping costs low through its partnership with Bitmain. Right now, Cango is maintaining 32 EH/s, with its average operational hash rate rising slightly from 29.8 EH/s in November to 30.4 EH/s.

Are you investing in mining stocks this bull run? If so, which ones are on your watchlist?

Any thoughts on the NerdMiner V2? Is it worth the $49.99?

I am extremely new to crypto mining, and only recently figured out how it all works. I am in the early stages of researching beginner rigs, and have come across a little $50 thing called the NerdMiner V2. It looks like an interesting device, especially for someone like me, who is concerned about raising my energy bill/carbon footprint. Would this be a good way to start?

Anyone Successfully Underclocked an S19j Pro to Run on 120V?

Hey everyone,

I mine with multiple S19j Pro units, but I have a few extras lying around that I’d like to get running—even at reduced power. The problem is, I don’t have enough 240V outlets available.

I’m wondering if anyone has successfully underclocked an S19j Pro using custom firmware (Braiins OS+, Vnish, etc.) to make it run efficiently on a standard 120V outlet. I know the stock PSU isn’t designed for 120V, but if underclocking could drop power consumption low enough, it might work with a step-up transformer or another workaround.

Also, just to be clear—I’m not looking for replies saying it’s not worth it due to power costs, and I’m not interested in hearing “just buy BTC,” because I do that as well. I’m considering running one for solo mining and taking a shot at the lottery.

Has anyone done this? What firmware/settings worked best for you? Any recommendations or warnings?

Appreciate any insights!

As soon as the mempool emptied, it filled out again, enjoy the new TX fees bros

After two years of a Full mempool, the mempool finally cleared by block number 881851.
Here's Mononautical's tweet about it: https://xcancel.com/mononautical/status/1885882423130345587

But as everyone was gearing up to write their FUD tweet, and write they did, the mempool immediately filled up again.
Two huge spikes of transaction flows sent the Mempool back 30MvB.I guess there is no rest for any of us, the miners!

Is a gpu dock and gtx 1660 good enough

I’m on budget, i found a gpu dock for £20 and geforce gtx1660 for £90.

My aim is to stack BTC, not sell it for fiat. I also don’t pay for electricity.

I’m only spending £110 but will it be profitable, would i be earning profits after 2 months?

My lenovo desktop is a intel core i3 which i’m going to carry on using for browsing, and a external gpu for gtx1660 fully focused on btc mining.

Is this a good set up?

Any recommendations? open for it all

Help! Do you have insights into this opportunity to build mining facility? Pro opinions needed on mining container, place to source rigs. Where are trustworthy places to buy mining rigs? Canaan, Whatsminer, Bitmian? Where to buy used hardware in Wyoming, US?

Ok, so I've been mining BTC since 2015, and done well by having a HODL philosophy, coupled with a trading strategy focused on selling hype and buying panic.

I started with S9's and R4's from Bitmain that I purchased with BTC, directly from Bitmain.com and it was always a good experience.

When I was ready to re-up my investment around 2019-2020, I didn't go with the S-series from Bitmain (Everyone at the BTC conferences I went to said the S17 was not super reliable) and so instead I mined with the Avalon A1246 Series from Canaan. While not the most efficient, those things were flippin' tanks and very robust- I am a fan.

I didn't reinvest in hardware during the crypto winter of 2021-22 because hardware prices were affected by the "irrational exuberance" of the previous market surge.

Around late 2022 early 2023 my hookup on grandfathered electricity rates for the commercial property I own expired, and they jacked me up to $0.17 or higher during "peak hours".

I shut my 2 PH/s setup down, dumped all my rigs on eBay, and put the money into BTC and SOL.

All last year I worked on finding a new setup, and I am almost ready to deploy a respectable amount of CAPEX on an off-grid setup out in the oil fields in my geographic region.

It has been an endeavor, as the oil business is rather predatory and the potential to get taken advantage of is high- but the numbers so far look solid, and I am ready to commit capital in the next 60-90 days.

Our electricity cost is very low, so the business model is built around high volume of older/less efficient machines - I am not opposed to buying used, well-maintained rigs if anyone knows a reputable vendor. A lot of the rigs on eBay are used and abused to the point that I probably would not buy them.

Which brings me to the main point- what are your opinions on these vendors?

I was hoping to work with UpStream Data, as Steve Barbour is rad, but I am boot strapping this and self funding, so I am looking at powermining for the container because it is a bit more cost effective, and I'll be sourcing the genset locally.

https://www.powermining.io

I've worked with https://altairtech.io and they are awesome-

Also, from what I can find, these are the official sites for the main ASIC manufactures, can anyone confirm the MicroBT and Canaan sites?

Bitmain (Antminer) – https://www.bitmain.com/

Canaan (AvalonMiner) – https://canaan.io/

Is this legit? https://shop.canaan.io

MicroBT (WhatsMiner) – https://www.microbt.com/

Any thoughts on the rack mounted MicroBt stuff, or immersion cooling in general? I've never done either, so I'd appreciate insight.

The way things are looking, I'll have space for ~160 3500w rigs, with a total capacity of 350kw, but I can expand to 500kw if needed.

What do you think?
