Are there any apps that present a “daily suggested workout” that takes into account my experience level and biometrics?
For example, I go for a run and struggle, the next day it shortens my suggested workout.
Or I work out hard on Monday, on Tuesday or recommends I do some light stretching .
Sorry I know it’s been asked already but can’t really find a straight answer. If I’m doing a mix of walking and running like running 1 minute then walking 3 can I just set it to outdoor run and it will know when I’m walking, I know you can add a new exercise each time you change but that’s a lot of fiddling around and it resets the total time and calories with each workout making it harder to see a total
Atm I have a series 2 and looking for a new Apple Watch, but I don’t know which one I should buy. I use it mostly for exercise and daily use and would like something with a good battery but my budget is not the best😬 does anybody know how much of a difference there is between the series 7 and 8? I looked at the apple website but it doesn’t look like there are much of a difference between the two
Do you manually set your heart rate zones, or do you let the Apple Watch determine them? What is your reason for your choice?
So this was a day I simply went to work and came home. My job is a night shift security officer. I sit most of my 8 hour shift and might get up a couple times and check people in or out. Then I go home and sleep, wake up to eat and then go back to work. In NO world is my activity more than sedentary.
Here it says I’m burning 3000 calories. I put my information into a tdee calculator and it says my sedentary is 2400. I’ve been eating too much for years apparently just listening to my Apple Watch
Just for information sake: I’m a 5’8 male at 40 years old and 253lbs. I went into health app and the resting calories says 2500. That seems like what my tdee would be! But the active calories just randomly added on top of everything? Is insane
Did anyone get these in the US this year? I don’t remember seeing them announced.
Twice today my Apple Watch has started a Yoga workout that I wasn’t actually doing. The first one lasted for over two hours before I noticed and stopped it. I have deleted both from the Fitness App, but my Exercise Ring hasn’t corrected itself. And I just got an undeserved Award for most exercise minutes in a day. Not that it really matters, but it’s kinda annoying. I’m blaming the latest update. This hasn’t happened before. I’ve had this watch for over a year, and it’s my second Apple Watch. Not sure how to prevent this from happening.
For the past year I've been working out very consistently but my VO2max reading for apple watch still has me at high 30s to low 40s. This is listed as below average for my age and I'm kind of confused about why it hasn't gone up.
I typically run on a treadmill for 60 min (usually around 8 miles) 3 days per week and lift 3 days as well. I go on a long walk pretty much every day with my wife and kids. I also have a peloton, which I use a couple of times per week after the kids go to bed.
I log pretty much every workout I do with the exception of BJJ, because I have to take my watch off. It just seems crazy that my VO2max hasn't increased at all in a whole year? I know that HIIT workouts are the best for VO2max but seems crazy that I would be so low with no improvement at all. Has anyone else had this problem or have any advice to improve it?
Is the Apple Watch calorie count accurate or closer? I know compared to Garmin on many workouts it underestimates in comparison but is this underestimated number more accurate and realistic than what a Garmin gives? I know calories is something watches can’t truly depict accurately but I’m asking if the AW is more accurate than the Garmin projections
A few days ago I did a 6.5k competition run and sprinted the last 200m or so. I finished and looked at my AW telling me my heart rate was 200bpm. Did similar runs in the past few months always having 199-201bpm after a sprint. For some reason my AW assumes my max HR is 191. Why would this happen? I think the max HR is adjusted every month but it doesn’t change. Am I misinterpreting max HR?
Just wanted to share abit about how this app and watch has completely changed my life when it comes to my relationship with food and calories. It feels weird saying this about a simple app and watch but the numbers don’t lie. It’s like a game for me to close all the rings every day. (Not as much on the weekends) And using the Health app to track my macros was tedious at first but now it’s as normal to me as brushing my teeth in the morning. Im 6’1 and was 357lbs in late April and now I’m currently sitting at around 285lbs. It’s hard to express the huge change in my quality of life, it’s almost night and day. Once in a while I’ll catch my reflection in the mirror and still be surprised at how different I’m starting to look. The once unimaginable pipe dream of me being around 200lbs again is looking more and more feasible now. I am confident I’ll get there and it’s all thanks to this app and an Apple watch.
Recently started running. Those three dots between 4-11 are me pressing “end workout” and then opening the front door to my kids fighting.
I noticed while working out that my heart rate zones are inaccurate. My resting rate is around 80, zone 1 around 80-100, zone 2 around 100-120, etc’
However, I can be at 140BPM and it still says I’m at zone 2. Any ideas how to fix it?
