Feel like every place closes at 9-10.
hello, I updated my wardrobe with new suits (who said I got fat?) and was trying to find a good alteration who knows about suits. I go to an alteration in Laguna Niguel but more to fix a simple jeans. I need a tailor guy who can understand cuts/british-italian style etc… Eventually I can also buy directly from this store (building the suit from scratch)
I'm in central OC but I'm curious if any place sells it at all?
Didn’t know what flair to use. If you lost your car keys at Fashion Island next to Santa and Rolex I turned them in to the concierge.
Restaurants that do vongole right with a healthy portion of clams. Specifically clams, not mussels or other seafood. Taking my elderly parents, so no loud atmosphere or “hotspots.” Willing to drive anywhere in OC.
A friend of mine who lives in Orange County is currently facing homelessness, and I’m desperately trying to find information or resources that might help her find some stability. I live in Texas, so that’s unfortunately easier said than done.Â
For further context, my friend and her mother have abruptly lost their primary source of income. My friend is chronically ill and can’t work. Even if she could, there’s no way she could find a job in time for it to make a difference.Â
So, my question is, has anyone else here been in a similar situation, or known someone who has? If so, were there any local resources that helped lessen the blow? Also, is there anywhere to rent in the OC that isn’t ungodly expensive? As of now, they live in Laguna Niguel, but I think relocation is an option.Â
I apologize if this post goes against any rules of this sub, I’m just desperate. Please let me know if there’s a more appropriate sub.
I was on Katella facing East about to make a left on Bloomfield. I was literally the 3rd car waiting to make a left turn. It turned green and all of a sudden I was on the intersection and it was yellow and then it was red even before I fully left the intersection. I don’t believe I saw the cameras flash but everything was so quick. I’m pretty sure my speed was 5-10 mph. Crazy. Will I still get a ticket even if I’m pretty sure I passed the first line of the intersection while the light was green/yellow and if the cameras did not flash?
Edit: speed was not even 5-10 mph because the car in front of me was rolling slowly and that’s probably why everything happened so fast. But it still felt like that yellow to red was too quick.
I currently have medi-cal through Healthnet and my medical group is Associated Hispanic Physicians. I wouldn't mind changing to a different medical plan or medical group.
Hey All - was practicing jiu jitsu for a few months at a studio close to my house but they didn’t have a beginner’s track. I was basically practicing and grappling with 10 year veterans, which wasn’t fair to them and stressful on me. So I stopped going.
Any recommendations on dojos that actually have beginners classes and track? Irvine or south of Irvine would be most preferable.
Thanks!
I'm trying to explore more fun places to study that are close by and have a nice environment! So coffee shops and libraries and stuff. I'm in west garden grove area, so moon goat is a good option but it has been super busy lately and the wifi isn't great. I am also looking for places by the beach to try, recently I tried bogarts for the first time and it was awesome. Thank you!

So our Samsung front loading washing machine is stuck shut and won’t unlock or turn on. After manually draining it and troubleshooting with Samsung, we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s broken.
It’s still covered under its Costco extended warranty. However, the warranty company is requesting for us to send in a repair estimate. Problem is, everyone repair tech we call is charging >$100 just to come out.
Anybody on this sub a repair technician or knows of one that is willing to provide a repair estimate over the phone for a more reasonable cost?
TIA!
Hi! Does anyone knows a agency for Home health aide around OC? Thanks
Check out this Instagram reel I made about Knott’s merry farm !
I have 2 weeks left to complete 8 hours of community service. Most places won’t work due to deadlines. If anyone knows a specific place/company that works in my time frame, that would be much appreciated. The deadline is Dec. 16.
Some city subreddits have this fun Geo-guesser challenge so I thought it’d be fun if we had one in OC!
The only place I know of right now is Joe's Italian Ice, which is great (love the variety of flavors), but often has a long line. Any other spots in Central or North OC with soft serve?
Yesterday at Lakeview (near Kathy May)/Central Park a man openly smoking dr0gs, carrying a baby, and letting his older kids ride their motorised bikes (baby motorcycles) on the grass threatened to kill someone’s dog - 3x.
There is video and photos of the guy (not sure if it’s appropriate to put here).
Stay aware - and stay safe, people are extremely hostile these days.
I've be visiting my family in Garden Grove from Dec 10 - January 6.
Im from a different country so Im not really familiar around the place. Looking for a cheap place to train Muay Thai/BJJ/MMA while Im in vacation.
I want to know about the combat sport culture around Garden Grove and can anyone recommend places that will make my vacation worth while!
Thank you!
As the title says, just looking for fun stuff to to do for both kids and adults in and around this great city.
The hotel is in Dana Point. Laguna Niguel doesn't have coastline. Why would they want to be associated with a city that doesn't have coastline? Is it because Laguna Niguel sounds "resort-y"? Always thought it was odd. Does anyone have an idea?
I am relocating to OC and have decided that renting in Laguna Woods would be advantageous considering the crapshoot that apartment complexes present. I plan to use LW as a base, but explore the hiking/beach scene as well as seeking out live music. It seems like many people on Reddit are young males. Is there anyone older on here who can reach out, even better if you live in Laguna Woods and can give me some inside advice.
