Play online radio channels?

I have several radio channel links that I want to play on my Echo. I used Radio Browser skill before but it stopped working for me. Is there something similar?

There is myTuner, but you need to tell it the specific station name each time. You cannot set a favorites list from what I know...

Auto connect to echo

Is it possible to have my iPhone automatically connect to my echo when I get home? I have to go into my iPhone Bluetooth settings and manually connect to my echo when I get home instead of just seemlessly switching to my speaker.

Alexa notification banner that some stranger joined my Alexa last night

I live in the middle of 13 acres on the side of a mountain and this morning my Alexa app sent me a notification that "{name}" has joined my Alexa, with two phone numbers for him listed. I called Amazon help and was walked through a series of steps and finally uinstalling and reinstalling the Alexa app. The new app has removed "Guest Connect" under settings and though it is still listed under "Notifications" that tab does nothing now. I want to find the notification I received this morning with this man's name and phone number. It does not appear under the phone's notification history and I cannot find it in the Alexa app either. If he could join my Alexa, he had to be within 30 feet of my Dot and I cannot figure out how he was unless he was in my backyard, which is spooky. The Amazon help rep told me there was no way to find that data but it has to be in the phone somewhere. Does anyone know how I can find it? My old data was still there when I reinstalled the app.

Researching this further, both me and my neighbor (too far away for us to connect to each other's Starlink accounts) both have Ring cameras. I found something called Amazon Sidewalk that links Ring cameras to each other by sharing our wifi connections to form a "neighborhood". That extends the Alexa coverage from 30 feet to hundreds of yards from our homes. And that notification that has now disappeared said something about two of my 5 ring cameras. I checked the video from those cameras and there was no notification so he may not have triggered them but they allowed the Alexa on his phone to connect to my Alexa through the cameras. So I suspect a hunter with the name that showed up on my Alexa this morning was trespassing close enough to our Ring camera's to join as a "guest" on my Alexa because I did not know that setting was on. He would have had to also accepted the invitation so it is still creepy. Look up Amazon Sidewalk, Big Brother is Watching.

Pairing Echo Spot (2024) and Echo Pop (2023) not pairing/ not compatible...please help

Ive selected the speakers to pair for setero sound, and Echo Spot - the new one from this year - and the echo Pop (2023) - and when itry and pair them it says they are incompatible and it will only allow me to select one, the other speaker is greyed out. Any tips on what i could be doing wrong? Seems like user error, since io would be very surprised if the latest 2 models of this line cannot be paired.

Question: Changing Region

I’m hoping someone who has been in a similar situation as I am can help me out here so I’m don’t end up doing the wrong thing.

I recently brought an echo, I’m located in New Zealand and when I try to ask Alexa “how do I make cookies” Alexa responds “Sorry, due to your language and location settings I’m unable to find recipes”.

So now I’m wanting to change that so I’m able to find recipes and unlock basically the full Alexa experience so I am wanting to jump to USA as my country because I assume that’s what is holding me back.

So I’ve looked online and saw about changing my country under https://www.amazon.com/mycd/ which I’ve done and set that to USA then I de registered my echo device and re set it back up but I’m still getting “Sorry, due to your language and location settings I’m unable to find recipes”.

I did see about it taking up to 24 hours to process the change is this what the issue is now or is there more I need to do on my end or did I not do something right?

Really hoping someone knowledgeable can help me out here please and thank you!

Show 15 still thinks there's a child profile when it's been deleted?

My 12 year old has always used our various non-show echos via just a standard voice profile under my account with no issues. Got a Show 15 recently and decided to try set up a proper Amazon Family and Household. Set up a child account for him, did voice and visual ID.

Don't like how it works - turns out Amazon Kids isn't properly supported in my country, so he's got a kid profile, but we've no access to parent dashboard or ability to tweek permissions etc, and his profile is way too locked down. He can't even ask for a song on Spotify. And with visual ID the widgets now say they're not available on a child account. So if he's standing beside me in the kitchen, my shopping list and to do list suddenly becomes inaccessible.

The whole thing is just annoying, so I've deleted his profile. But the Show 15 still thinks it's there! Still says widgets aren't accessible, still locks down Spotify, and just prompts to "finish registering for Amazon Kids" although its not supported. I've scoured my Amazon account on my desktop, Alexa app and device itself and his profile does not exist anymore.

When he's in visual ID range the little circular default profile picture appears at the top of the screen, but it doesn't display his name or greet him. If I click on the profile picture, nothing happens. It looks like it tries to load a profile, but then just returns to the home screen.

Best to just do a factory reset?

Is there a remote for the Echo Show 10?

My 90yr old Mum has one of these 3000 miles away and it is our communication device, and it works well. However, she needs an easy way of controlling the photos that are displayed (after I upload them to Amazon Photos). She cannot use the touch screen, so is there a remote control that is (i) compatible and (ii) works on the default photo viewer that can go Back/Fwd? Failing that, does voice control work at all for this? (UK model if that matters).

Why Can’t I Find the Audio Jack For My Echo Auto?

At some point I was given an Echo Auto, and I tried to use it for my car—a 2000 Buick Park Avenue.

My car has no Bluetooth capabilities so I’d need to use the auxiliary audio cable that comes with the Echo Auto, but I can’t figure out where to plug it in. Supposedly, there’s supposed to be an audio jack near the radio/CD player console, but not in my car

According to online information, the Echo Auto is SOMEHOW supposed to be compatible with my car even though it’s an older make and model.

Was I misinformed? Am I not looking in the right spot? Was this a wasted purchase for my car?

Explain to me in layman’s terms.

Amazon echo show frozen

This week my Echo Show froze to a black screen with Amazon logo. No changes to location or wifi (all other Amazon Alexa devices working normally). I tried unplugging, plugging back in, resetting, and even deregistering from my Alexa app. Still keeps freezing on this screen. Any tips for support? Amazon keeps telling me it’s my wifi 🙁 Thank you in advance!

Does Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor upload data to the cloud instead of directly to device? And where is the data calculated for determining the light color?

I have an Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor, and I had an Internet outage all day. I couldn't connect to the AQM during the outage using the Alexa app, which I thought was odd because I thought it should just connect to my phone over WiFi rather than needing Internet. Once the Internet was back on, all the data from the outage period was missing.

I'm assuming based on this it's continually uploading to the cloud rather than syncing to my phone directly and that it has no onboard storage?

It still showed the green light during the Internet outage. I'm not sure if I can count that that was accurate during that time period or not (does it process and analyze data on the device or does it get sent up to the cloud and back to the device to tell it what color it should display?).

I just got a pair of 2023 echo buds and they suck. I’ve only Been able to pair them once and it took me 3 hours (and yes they were fully charged). The one time I got that’s to hook up the left earbud didn’t work. And every time I go try to pair them to my phone the light turns green for 5 seconds then shuts off.

Please if you guys have any advice please let me know.

I'm slowly losing my mind because Echo keeps playing "similar songs on Amazon Music"

Hi everyone,

I am not joking when I say that I am slowly drifting off into insanity due to my Echo Dot playing "similar songs on Amazon Music" when I just requested one song.

Spotify is my default streaming service and sometimes I just get that one song on Spotify but most of the time my Echo plays "similar songs on Amazon Music". Why? Please, somebody tell me why? And how can I turn this off? I don't want to keep adding "on Spotify" to my wishes.

There are only two accounts in my app. My personal account and my family account. Nobody, absolutely nobody, has access to my Amazon account and I live alone. I disabled "autoplay" for the family account and so far I don't see any option to disable it for my personal account.

Please, I beg you, it has to stop. I just want to listen to one song, not similar songs as well.... 😢

Making calls?

Hi everyone, I am a part time caregiver for my 81 year old friend who is completely blind but very sharp mentally. She needs the ability to make calls to a few people. She does not have an iphone but has an echo dot, set up to her grandson's iphone.

If her echo is set up with a cell phone, is she able to make calls directly on the echo just using her voice? Or would it be too complicated? Thank you!

College student child with sleep disorder needs help waking up with remotely controlled echo

My college student daughter can't wake up on her own and she lives out of state. How can I control her echo, turn up the volume to the max, and talk to her through it? Does she need to set up her device under my account? Or do we somehow link our separate accounts? I need to be able to use my phone app to control her echo. Thanks for your help and advice!

Edit: Please go to https://www.hypersomniafoundation.org/ to learn about her debilitating neurological condition and form of narcolepsy before making judgemental comments about me or my daughter. I asked a tech support question. She is in year 3 at college and has tried everything. Things like shock alarms stop working over time and she wanted to try this method rather than continue to pay someone to come wake her up every day. It is a living hell to go to bed at 10 pm and wake up at 6 pm the next day realizing you missed everything...work...a test, etc. She currently has a system she made from items at Home Depot and a runaway alarm clock that dumps water on her in the morning and has someone coming over every day to make sure she is moving. We've never had echos before and were wondering if this would be cheaper than paying someone every day to stay with her until she is out of bed. She is asking for help. This is her choice to try the echo...not mine. She has accommodations for her disability through the university and is under the care of a neurologist and takes meds for it. Thank you to those of you that gave tech support advice! Truly grateful. 🙏🏼

Amazon Show timer shadow

So this has been an issue for a few years now and not sure how to fix it. It's upto date of firmware but when I set a timer it shows on screen but then it's like the backbackground zooms along with the time and it's now the same timer showing twice. Like a shadow and i can't find a way to make it go away. It did for a few days when I set the background to default but now it's doing it again.

Echo Spot (2024) Plays Fanfare/Jingle After Command

I just added an echo spot to my setup, and the device plays a “fanfare” style sound after I issue a command. For example, ‘Alexa, put on a 5 minute timer’ followed by a short ‘fanfare’ sound.

I have no idea how to turn it off! Tips online suggest going to the app to see if a routine or theme is turned on. As far as I can tell, there are no themes or routines turned on.

This hasn’t happened with other recent echos I’ve installed (gen 5, 2022 installed in 2023).

Any tips on how to deactivate this feature?

Are there any sleep sounds apps that will play on speaker pairs?

The current setup.. echo dot speaker pair in the master bedroom. We have one routine we use at night "Alexa goodnight" which turns off the two bedside lights and does an "alexa, ask rain sounds to loop". But it only plays on one speaker or the other, depending on which heard you.

We used to use another Skill for white noise that was really good but it seemed to just randomly stop working. Are there any better ones out there that will play on a speaker pair? An amazon rep told me at one point that no skills can do this... so I question why I even have these devices anymore...

EchoLink and Mac music library

I own an Echo Link which I control from an Echo Dot for playing SiriusXM and Spotify. The Dot and the Link are part of a group called "Livingroom". I'm open to reconfiguration as needed. I'd like to stream music from my Apple Music Library on my Mac or, maybe, my iPad. How do I make this connection in the Alexa app?

Echo 5. Generation in a shared apartment

Hello everyone. We are currently switching our system from Google Home to Alexa Echo. All smart devices now work. Now we are faced with the following problem:

As a shared apartment, we are both adults, but we don't have any shared appointments or shopping lists. So that should be separate. To do this, we linked our Amazon accounts and trained our voice. With Google it was possible to register multiple Google accounts and then add your own Spotify and calendar to them. Google then recognized this through language.

To my question: Does this also somehow work with the Echo? So far I haven't found a setting in the app to assign the calendar to a voice, especially not in Spoitify.

Theoretically there are three of us, but my boyfriend probably doesn't need the features.

Sorry for the bad English, I'm from Germany and use a translator.

Echo Recipes Language and Location Error

I bought an Amazon Echo. I live in Switzerland but I am English so am looking for English recipes. When I ask Alexa I am being told that my language and location don’t match. I have been to both the Uk and USA customer services both of which are passing me back and forth. I have changed everything on m profile to an English address but the machine is still picking up that I am from Switzerland. I have now been told to go back to America to change everything to American. However I have lost faith and really don’t think they have any idea if this problem can in actual fact be fixed.
