In case you wasn't aware, when you asked "Alexa do you like worms" it used to sing a worm song. Now it just gives you info from Google. 😔
I just got an Echo show 5 and it doesn’t have Netflix. I thought that it came with Netflix all I had to do was sign in? I tried to install Hulu and that doesn’t work. Is there a work around? I want to be able to play the office while I’m at the office. Thanks!
When you ask echo what’s the news it brings up a livestream of ABC news. I love it! I’m wondering what other live service is available like that?
Hey all, new here and new to echo. Just got the Echo Show 15 last night. I've searched and tried all of the suggestions that I can find on google, but still can't get my apple music to link. Every time I try, it says I need a subscription and says it can't be linked. I do have a subscription. Anyone else have this problem and have you found a way to fix it?
The other issue I'm seeing is that my google calendar isn't staying linked. I set it up yesterday. Then it randomly unlinked. I set it up again. Then this morning it was unlinked again and I had to re-link it. This is not something I want to keep having to do as it takes away the convenience factor. Switching to amazon calendar would be a ton of work and not convenient since I have our whole family set up on a shared google calendar.
I wanted the echo show because I have ring cameras and love the idea of having that set up to my cameras, my doorbell, having a smart device in the kitchen for recipes, a family hub for our calendar/reminders, and all the other possibilities, but unfortunately it seems to be pretty glitchy and not giving great access to the things that I want to do. If I can get it working smoothly it would be amazing as I really want this to work for my needs.
I took a look at google nest but it doesn't seem to be as nice as the echo show, if the echo show will work like it promises.
I have an echo show that is stuck on the Amazon logo. I tried unplugging it for a minute, that didn't work. I held mute and vol down, and it showed entering factory reset, but then went right back to the logo. Am I stuck out of luck?
I'm getting bored now.
Alexa is sadly getting left behind...
The lack of AI integration, THE AD'S! And (for me) the UI...
Is Google (along with Gemini) the future of this area?
I don't know what's going on with Claude. Does anyone know what's going on? Either way, it needs to happen fast, as I think people will be dast moving away from Alexa if she doesn't catch up quick. Sad!
I have to be missing something. Someone told me it was because I had an older model, so here I am with a echo show 10-in. I can see the time and even the temperature on the home screen but how in the world is there no way to show the date?
Can you alexam emergeny assist button your home screen of an iPhone?
Can I turn off all ads? Every time I ask Alexa to do something she spends the next several minutes on an ad😡
Is there a way to program the Echo to only work as a chime and disable all other features. As I don't want Alex to play music, listen to me when I call it Alexa etc. 🤔
When i say "Alexa play some music" It keeps saying "sorry i cant do that" Its connected to the internet. What maybe the reason.
It told me the exact amount of red cards for a soccer game in 2026…um…what?
I’m about to do some sports betting.
Hi, my echo stops playing music after the ring doorbell has been ringing. Is there a way to keep the music playing afterwards ?
So we have been using amazon alexas for AGES. My husband makes fun of me because does everything really need to be connected blah blah whatever.
So we easily have about 2 dozen speakers, cubes, connected devices etc. In the living room we have a cube, 2 studios and a sub. in the bedroom we have a cube, and 2 2nd gen echos on our nitestands for a stereo pair.
Lets say over the last year we have had a lot of connectivity issues with these pairs, dropping sound only one thing working only the sub working etc. We have deleted groups, readded, deleted the devices and re added. They always show network errors.
NOW we were running 1gig cable internet with an orbi router and 2 satellite. we are in a 3br 1 story home thats about 1200square feet. Recently we upgraded to 2gig fiber we figured that would solve our issue since so many items get connected to wifi (appliances, smart bulbs, smart plugs, cell phones computers gaming systems tvs)
This fixed the problem for about 2 weeks, and it started happening again.
I had the genius idea that we should set up a second router (asus) to only handle the tv's, and the 2 theater pairs with the cubes. THATS IS IT.. Its on its own devoted wifi (gets 1gig fiber strength) and there is also 2 satellite with that also so the wifi phenomenal anywhere in the house on it .
This corrected the issue for about 2 weeks. The surround sound pair in the living room are maybe 15 feet apart and the sub sits between the 2 about the same distance away against a wall. ITs annoying to have to trouble shoot the (insert 10 curse words here) speakers every time we want to watch tv. When they are working though they sound AMAZING.
Anyone have any ideas, or experience this? Should I just move on and step away from my troubled relationship with Alexa before my husband asks for a divorce? lol
I have had a routine I setup thru the phone app for years. It's basically a combination of Alexa saying what she is doing and then doing it. Integrated with my Home Assistant smart home. So basically:
Alexa, Power Off
She then:
Says: I'm turning off the TV
Triggers: Harmony remote turn off the activity.
then I have two other announcements she makes and triggers
Had a Comcast outage for 4 hours the other day and suddenly it doesn't work. Basically what happens is when I saw Alexa, Power Off, she says "I'm turning off the TV". Then nothing happens and she doesn't continue to the rest.
If I recreate the routine same deal. If I take out the Alexa Says part it processes fine. So if I just do:
Power on the staircase lights
Turn off the TV
Turn off the family room lights
That works. If I stick "Alexa Says" commands in between these it never gets to even the staircase lights and never says the other commands either. So the integration to Home Assistant is working, just something gets hung up after those "Alexa Says" commands.
Thoughts?

Does anyone know how to set a routine on the echo glow where it will go a set color at a time and STAY there until next routine action?
I.e., I want it to go red at 8 pm and stay red until 6:50 am. I do not want tap to change color (or voice commands) to be enabled during that time. (Basically downtime for the device and “ok to wake” signals.
Cannot find this anywhere…
We gave our daughter (7 years old) an echo dot for Christmas. Thanks to the great posts on here, we learned we had to jump through lots of hoops to set it up so she could use her own Spotify account without it interfering with our own use on ours.
So long story short, her echo is on a completely different account than my Amazon stuff.
She has asked for a Kindle for her birthday. I plan on letting her use mine first before we entertain the idea of spending that kind of money on it. I’m going to reset it and set it up for a kid to use.
Is there any benefit to having her kindle set up on her account, to be connected to her Dot? Or can I set it up under my account? It would be way easier for me to push books to her kindle from my account. She does not have much internet access otherwise.
I hope this makes sense. Thank you for your help!
I recently bought an Amazon Echo Pop, after doing all the configurations I ask Alexa to start a song from my Spotify playlist but what happens is that it puts on a random radio. For example, I ask her to put "Rap God" by Eminem and she doesn't put the song but she puts "Eminem Radio Spotify". Is this normal or is there something I can do to make it put the songs I say?
I don't know about anyone else, but I am tired of seeing my Echo Show showing pictures from WICKED and suggesting to create a theme or suggesting other things about the movie. My timer has even adopted a WICKED musical sound without me doing anything! Highly irritating. Is there any way to turn this off (either the suggestions for the movie or the timer music or both)?
I have an eero 6 router and 2 echo dots 4 paired with Alexa home-theather. I have a device that doesn't get wifi and my echo could extend the mesh just enough so it can get like 10 mbps (it doesn't need more). I have tried to connect the echo dot 4 as an eero built-in, but it doesn't work. I also can't get the eero skill (it doesn't show up) . The device can add zigbee devices to Alexa and it shows up in the echo and alexa section. Is the echo dot or Romania has geographical restrictions?
Hi can you use to echo dots together with Bluetooth? Like if I use my iPhone or tv with Bluetooth can I have two echo dots play the sound? Or do I need two Bluetooth speakers paired together to do that? Was wondering as I have two echo dots. Thanks.
Alexa won’t play Wham! using voice command because it thinks I’m asking for Wham.
Is there a way to get it to play Wham! with voice commands?
I have 2 Echo dots (3rd gen) and an echo plus (2nd gen) which has a built in bridge for the hue lights. if I command alexa to turn on the lights, it will only work with the Echo plus. the Echo dots even listen as im talking to the plus device and say that the light wouldn't react, while Echo plus just turns it on. I need help
I started noticing yesterday that my Echo Show 2 has started activating herself and doing things herself. Yesterday morning, she played the news without asking (I have no routines set up), yesterday evening she was going on and off like someone was talking to her but no one was, and last night at 2 am she said "iPhone connected" "iPhone disconnected" by herself. I live in a house with 3 other people who were all asleep at the time, I was sleeping at the time as well. We have neighbors in houses on either side, but I can't imagine they were up and around either or that they would be able to connect. It's never done this before. Any ideas what's up?
What's the longer term review of these? Does it have the Echo Show issue of ads, plus randomly changing to whatever new thing Amazon have added, taking over the screen?
I literally want an alarm clock that has Alexa in it. The screen should show the clock, only the clock, and nothing but the clock, unless I specifically ask for something else.
How is the Spot 2024 for that?
Thanks!
