Has anyone successfully linked and used an echo glow in Australia? I have no issues getting a new cord but I want to use it as a night-life for my niece/nephew when they come over.

I have my TV, which has crappy speakers, plugged into my Echo using the aux port.

If I decide I want to play some music by asking Alexa then that's fine, but is there a command to go back to the audio coming from the TV to the 3.5mm port?

I've tried stuff like Alexa, play input sound or Alexa play auxiliary audio etc...

The only way I got it to go back was literally turning the echo off and on again.

Generally I don't just switch to Amazon music in the middle of using it for the TV and usually giving it a new source awitches it over, but in this I stance I just paused my game I was playing so it wasn't getting a new input.

Has anyone tried and would reccomend the echo show 15 ? Or anything similar . I stream a lot on my tablet but that's on its way out so looking for something else . I dont really use it for anything other than streaming so doesn't need to be functional for games and other types of apps

I've recently purchased a basic protection plan for my Ring doorbell. I've now installed a backyard cam and realized that my protection plan doesn't cover both cameras. The question is, how do I purchase a plan for the backyard cam? I see no option for that in the app.

My kids currently share a room and a Toniebox. I’m looking at having them have separate rooms, but I don’t want to get another Toniebox.

-What would be a good option for bedtime stories/white noise/music at bedtime?

-The echo dot or the echo pop? Is there a big difference between the two?

-Is it worth it to get the kids version of one of those, or is it pretty easy to set one up for kids if you don’t get the kids specific version?

So I've got 3 echo devices at home and I have my ISP's modem on the second floor main bedroom (wifi ssid "A"), which is wired to a mesh wifi router that serves one access point on each floor (3 floors wifi ssid "B")

Whenever in at home connected to either network I can control my Alexa devices without much issue, (usually I only have to switch network when I want to cast YouTube to a TV on the other network because otherwise I don't "see" it)

When I'm away from home I can only drop in on the echo connected to wifi "B" and the other 2 appear as device unresponsive

This morning before I left, I noticed the yellow bar under the bedroom echo, so I started going through the menus on the device to check which SSID was selected (it was "A") and without changing any settings suddenly the yellow bar went away and device appeared on my Alexa app on my phone

Anyways I wanted to check up on our dog as no one is home today and surprise, device unresponsive again.

I would appreciate input on troubleshooting this one, I've already unplugged and plugged my echo a dozen times, I don't know what to try next, I'm no stranger to accessing the modem interface and setting up the ssid or checking on connected clients and stuff but I don't fiddle with other settings in there unless I know what I'm doing so if there's like some port forwarding sort of thing to be done I could try that once I get home

I’ve been searching everywhere on how to do this but have had no luck, I have tried putting an aux lead from my Echo Dot to my LG ultra gear monitor, but no sound is coming out, I’ve checked my ps5 settings and ensured they are on the right output. I’m thinking it’s maybe something I have to do on the Alexa app but I can seem to find anything about using a wired connection on there. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong or if this is even possible? Thanks.

Pretty much what the title says. I'm wondering if I can connect my Echo Dot 5 to both a Bluetooth speaker and my phone (also via Bluetooth) at the same time, and then play music from my phone on the speaker.

I've tried to scrape the internet but I haven't found anything remotely related. Thanks in advance.

I have my friend setup on my Amazon Family account, so she has access to everything I have digitally from her account. We can see each other's devices on our Alexa Apps.

She has been on my family account for about 2 years now and lately it's been getting a bit odd.

She lives in Indiana, I live in Virginia.

I was sitting here reading yesterday and all of a sudden, music starter playing. I did not request any reminders, timers, alarms, or anything to go off at a specific time.

But it turns out that she will request on her own Echo device in her own home in Indiana to play a song for her. But it will start to play on my device.

I don't know if you've ever heard the opening to Unholy by Sam Smith while reading a horror book, but it was not fun lol!

Any ideas of what is happening and why? How to stop it from happening?

I see no major differences so far but would love to know if I am missing anything.

Plus no unnecessary promos.

I just recently got an Amazon Echo Show 8 and setup the main account now for my mum. I have added all the family members on the Show 8 and on the Amazon Alexa app it shows all those members for the Amazon account that set it up (my mums)

But when I am trying to join the device (Show 8) on the Amazon Alexa app for me it has the same family member name but they are not apart of the family. So I can’t see the device or link my music and wonder how to do this.

Example: the photo is of my device which did not set up the Amazon Echo Show 8 and shows that I am not in the family on the Amazon Alexa app. So I can’t link my music or see the shopping list, etc, the device that set up everything shows everyone on the Amazon Alexa app including me and can see all connected devices and shopping lists. Etc.

So basically I want to join the family through my phone so I can control all the devices and see the shopping lists from my account.

I hope this makes sense I am trying to explain it the best way I can.

Last Saturday I tried setting up a routine, for something to start playing at a certain time, for bedtime for my niece when she comes over, however it told me it can't do that from the device, I would have to use the app. I couldn't do it then because it's not my accounte, and the holder was busy, so I never really got around to it since. However a couple nights ago, the routine randomly started, and also on the wrong nights and wrong times. It's supposed to be only Friday and Saturday, and start at 8, but as far as we know, it's every night, and starts at 9. Why would a routine randomly start more than a week later?

Hello, my wife just bought an Echo Show 15 that was delivered today. We hooked it up and got everything connected, but the device is having two issues:

• It won't display any widgets in the widget screen (it's just an empty blue screen)
• When we try to update the software it kicks us back to the home screen

The device is running on 7.5.0.1 out of the box. I did a factory reset and went through setup again to no avail. Based on searches in this sub it appears that we are running an old software version that may explain both of these issues, but without the device seemingly being able to update itself I am at a loss for how to continue.

Any assistance would be much appreciated!

I've got A New Echo Spot and New Amazon Smart Plug, as well as an old Echo Dot (3rd Gen). My plug should turn on at 10:04, be On for Two Hours, then turn off. 🤷🏾‍♂️ It sounds simple. I've followed every guide I can find. BUT none of them mention "Suppression" for one minute. It keeps getting put in there. Is that the problem?

I just noticed my Nvidia shield skill wasn't working anymore.

I unlinked it from my Nvidia account and when I attemltto relink it, I get this error in the Nvidia login page.

Am I missing a configuration value somewhere?

I just purchased the new Echo Spot alarm clock and I am finding night mode to be very buggy. I have to set to go into night mode when the room darkens, So my room at night goes pitch black and the device will not go into might mode. I have to tell it to turn my bedroom light on and then off again to get it to go into night mode. If I use the schedule for nightmode it will not go back into nightmode if I talk to it when the schedule has it set to nightmode. Is anybody else seeing wonky behavior with nightmode?

Dear Amazon:

On the next firmware upgrade perhaps you can give users of the Echo Spot 2024 the option to see the LARGE time display instead of what music/media one is listening to. The time display on the music/media listening display is too small. Thanks.

My echo keeps turning on my bedroom lights at 6am before my routine even starts.

There is no routine telling it to turn the lights one, they even come in a different tone of white I use in my routines.

I already reseted it, got no idea what to do. It will keep waking me up before time.

So can I make a custom command to alexa to do custom RGB things? Like if I say “a thousand Suns” and then she turns on all lights in my room? And if so, can I make it to where she does it on a timer to where I say something like “In 7 hours turn on a thousand suns” and she can do it or no. I’m not a professional at alexa at all so pls lemme know (Sorry if it’s poorly written. Not that great at grammar)

I use my Echo Dot 3 mainly as a bluetooth speaker, occasionally I ask it to play songs from Apple Music.

Recently Alexa will not resume bluetooth playback, instead when I ask to resume or unpause, it starts playing a random Apple Music station or whatever was playing last, it won't resume bluetooth.

Update: I talked with Amazon and finally got it figured out. You need to deregister your device, unplug, plug back in while holding volume down button and mute button. Once Amazon logo shows up release buttons. My device had pending updates and that why it wouldn’t work.

It's REALLY infuriating when I've paused a video or a recipe (or just about anything) and then I walk away to do something else, and when I come back, the Echo Show has gone back to the Home screen and I've lost whatever it is I was paused on. For example, if I'm watching a video on YouTube and I decide to pause it, after 10 minutes BOOM! I come back to the Home screen and I have to go searching for the video all over again! I'm using the Echo Show 8 3rd Gen.

Apparently, there's no fix for this. After complaining about this on Amazon's own support forum, this was the response I got; "I'm sorry, but the time for returning to the home screen on an Echo Show device can not be edited" Short and not-so-sweet.

I'm posting this here in case anyone might have found a workaround for to stop this from happening.

My colleges WiFi has a thing where it takes you to another page when trying to sign in, but for me it doesn’t give me that option when trying to connect through my echo dot (5th gen). Is there a way to do it specifically?

We got 2 of the kids echo’s. The problem is they both want to listen to bedtime music and it will only allow one to listen at a time… how do I fix that?
