Last summer, I bought these Samsung devices and am now trying to connect them to SmartThings. I thought I saw a SmartThings sticker on my devices, but maybe they fell off?
Samsung - StormWash 24" Top Control Built-In Dishwasher with AutoRelease Dry, 3rd Rack, 48 dBA - Black Stainless Steel
Samsung - 4.5 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Stackable Smart Front Load Washer with Vibration Reduction Technology+ - White
Samsung - 7.5 Cu. Ft. Stackable Electric Dryer with Sensor Dry - White
Just upgraded my mobile to an iPhone 16 pro max, and reinstalled SmartThings. Noticed my Q990D soundbar was not connecting.
Tried to re-add it but whatever I try, it gives an error when trying to connect to WiFi in the app - saying the device cannot connect to the network.
I’ve tried resetting the Q990D, rebooting the router, reinstalling the app, selecting 5gHz and 2.4gHz networks etc - all give the same issue.
It’s ridiculous - anyone know how to fix it please??
It seems like changing regions resets absolutely everything.
24 hours later, I was automatically signed out of SmartThings. When I logged back in, everything had disappeared. Smarttags, homes everything...
Only way to add again the smart tags was to reset them....so if you don't have access to them don't change regions, you will not be able to add them again unless, you manually reset them.
Incredible that such a company like samsung has such process to change regions, this is a joke.
Hi. I'm hoping some one might be able to help me. I had a Go Control garage door opener working with Smartthings for a few years now, but recently it stopped working. It would beep like it should but then would not open and close the door.
I figured after 5 years, the board was shot, so I ordered a new one and installed it. Worked great the first three times, but now the new one is doing the same thing, but intermittently. Some times it will work, sometimes it won't. I've checked the wiring and everything is tight, and it worked again after reconnecting the wires, but it then stopped again after a day. The door works consistently with the remotes and hard wired buttons.
I'm hoping I just got a defective unit, but before I return it to Amazon and get another one, I wanted to see if anyone here had any troubleshooting steps I haven't tried.
Thanks for any help.
So it seems now we have 2 apps, i can see my devices on both, as in phones, tablets, etc... but I can't see my tags. I used to see them, but after changing the region of my samsung account I don't longer see them, (the devices yes, not the tags).
I tried logging out and logging in, clearing the cache and storage of the app, nothing seems to work...
I am using an s24ultra.
Seems like changing región broke some things, i cant neither see my qifes device which she was sharing.
In the past I’ve bought the sylvania smart+ zigbee outlets and they seem to work great. They no longer sell them on amazon so I was seeing what anyone would recommend. I’d be looking to stay off WiFi if at all possible but not a total deal breaker if there is a good option. Just looking for something reliable and safe. Thanks!
I'm moving to a new home and wanting to expand my current SmarThings security system.
Everything I have in my current setup was bought a couple years ago and it's all Samsung Motion and Contact Sensors. I haven't really been paying attention to SmartThings stuff because I haven't had to change my system.. but now that I'm moving and expanding my system I'm not finding the Samsung branded motion and contact sensors anywhere? Is Samsung not making them anymore? What are some good ones to get??
I have an RF light switch paired to RF/Wi-Fi plug and 2 spare Wi-Fi only plugs. I'd like a single switch to power those 3 ON with a small delay, and power them OFF, same delay, but in reverse order. Automation helps with the first part: just wait till plug 1 powers on by the switch, wait, enable plug 2, wait, enable plug 3. Can't do this in reverse because only plug 1 can "read" the switch presses. The app can't add the switch directly, asking for a gateway, which I assume is this tiny box you'd connect to wiring behind your non-smart light switch and I don't want to put something inside the wall for this particular case. Is there another format that I could just plug somewhere, or better yet - battery powered? Another alternative solution, I guess, would be to get another Wi-Fi only plug, and use RF one as plug 0 "sending" state changes to other plugs. Any better ideas?
Context:
I need a an inexpensive water shut off valve than what YoLink currently has. If the all in one had pinhole leak detection I'd buy it, but until then I'd still like to be able to shut off my water if a leak sensor is triggered. Other options like Moen and Flume have reliability issues from what I read.
Is this even possible anymore to add a hub to another z-wave network? I went to the advanced user section of the web portal but didn't find anything there. Hoping this is still a thing and is possible. Any guidance or assistance would be great.
I just learned about the SmartThings app and the home monitoring features that it contains. I’m interested being able to monitor my sensors by arming or disarming via pin password whenever I enter or leave the house.
Based on the info I’ve found online, I think I need a SmartThings hub to connect to the app and then the hub allows the z-wave sensors to connect to it. I’m also interested in purchasing some aqara sensors which I know need a hub, so would I need both the aqara hub and SmartThings hub if I go that route. Or can I just purchase the SmartThings hub and get some ikea door sensors which are z-wave enabled and connect that to the SmartThings hub.
Is it possible to control my phone's settings through SmartThings? Specifically, I'd like to run a routine to turn on Theater Mode on my Samsung phone when my TV is turned on. I don't see any way to control phone settings in SmartThings. There's also the Modes and Routines app which seems promising, but there's no way to use a device state as a trigger, as far as I can tell.
I have a Cync color, changing bulb and a lamp. There's automation set up to monitor a door lock in the basement. I have family that leaves the door unlocked constantly and I just wanted a visual notification that the door has been left. Unlocked. The setup is straightforward. There's a precondition to check to see if the lights on. I really only care about this in the evening. If the light is on and the door is unlocked, change the light to Blue. On the other end, if the door is locked and it's between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (The normal time that the light is on), change it back to a white light.
If I go in and mess with the color of the light and then operate the door lock, everything works as normal. It will change blue and then go back again as many times as I lock and unlock the door. If I let it sit for a couple minutes everything stops working. Then if I go back in and mess with something in the light through the app and then go back to the lock it starts working again but will stop if I leave it alone for a couple minutes.
Does your Z-Wave thermostat controls page reliably show the current thermostat "State" - Heating, Cooling, Idle?
I've been trying to create an automation to track the number of hours my furnace is running and alert me when it's time to change the filter. I created a timer/counter (thanks, TAustin) and added routines triggered by "State: Heating" and "State: Idle" to turn the timer on and off respectively. But it didn't work because the thermostat "State" doesn't leave "Idle" -- even when the furnace is running. I think this worked in the past, but not now...
I was using the SmartThings default driver but have also tried the "Mariano" driver. I have a GoControl (Linear) GC-TBZ48 Z-Wave thermostat.
Is it just me? Is your Z-Wave thermostat correctly reporting its state? Thanks.
Hello, I'm new to smarthings, I bought 2 bulbs and I'm trying to add bulbs to smarthings and appears grayed out. The Hue App says it needs Hue bridge.
Do I really need the Hue bridge or there is a workaround??
Thanks in advance.
I'm struggling to set up my Aqara Roller Shade controller in my hub (version 2.3.41-17. I've tried the following:
Any ideas?
Help me please. I've got a couple of smart plugs which seem to be giving me duplicate devices in SmartThings called "outlet 1" and "outlet39". As a test just now I've taken one of the problematic smart plugs, disconnected it from the smart life app and then reconnected it through the Tuya Smart app. As I was new to the Tuya smart app this was therefore the only device added.
It shows up fine in the Tuya Smart app as one plug, however the second I link Tuya through to SmartThings it links 3 devices. "Xbox Smart Plug" which is what I named the plug in setup and then Outlet1 and Outlet39.
I also have SmartThings linked through to Google Home and Alexa. Outlet1 and Outlet39 show up here too. I then unlinked SmartThings from Google Home and instead linked Tuya directly. Only Xbox Smart Plug imported then which would suggest the link between Smart Life / SmartThings and Tuya / SmartThings is the issue.
I also have a similar issue with some thermometers which show up as switches in Samsung SmartThings but work fine within the Smart Life app.
Edit: Plug I'm currently trying with is this, however there's also others from different manufacturers
I have a house full of Lutron Caseta original switches. I've just changed a few of the switches from the original to the Diva switches, because I like the function that you can set a pre-determined brightness level when tapping them on. However, I use ST automations to control two Casetta switches at once - example would be my master bathroom can lights, and master bathroom vanity lights; if I toggle on/off the can lights I want the vanity lights to mimic - and ST allows me to do that fairly easily.
Hoever, I'm having issues with the Diva switch - ST doesn't register when the the can lights turn on.
Does anyone have any experience or have a workarround for this?
What are everyones favorite thermostats for smartthings? I have honeywells right now, but they don't integrate too well.
I have a smart tag and I want the button to trigger a google home automation.
I have linked smartthings to google home.
I have set up a virtual device in smartthings. This device has a routine to change my smartthings location to home.
I can see my Samsung TV in google home but I can't see the virtual device so can't use it as a trigger in google home.
It would ideally like to trigger that I'm home since this influences other google automations but even just switching on a light would be good.
I'm happy to write a google home script but again can't see the smarthings virtual device.
Am I missing a step? Thanks in advance.
I recently had my garage door opener replaced, and since then, all my SmartThings ZigBee switches in the garage have stopped working. I tried troubleshooting everything and even started replacing the switches, assuming it was just a coincidence.
Then yesterday, my wife opened the garage door while I was using my Bluetooth headset, and it immediately disconnected.
I thought consumer appliances were supposed to meet FCC interference standards — is this not the case? Has anyone else experienced similar issues with newer garage door openers?
Hi I have a couple of sonoff SNZB-01 and a SNZB-01P buttons. I've managed to add them to smartthings however they do not seem to update their state. Thei don't report battery status nor when the button has been pushed/held. I've tried resetting them and re-adding multiple times and always have the same behaviour.
I've also tried both the standard smartthings zigbee button and the RDG ZigBee Button drivers. I have around 20 aeotec pico switch/duo switch and 14 aeotec pico shutters spread throughout the house and those work fine.
The button is the same whether I try adding them in a room away from the hub (but where I have aeotic zigbee devices working) or right next to the hub (although not sure it the connection is direct to the hub as there are also aeotec devices in that room).
Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be and how it can be fixed. I need some physical buttons so the Mrs can activate some routines when she wants.
Edit: Just wanted to add that I've just tried adding a sonoff presence sensor (SNZ-06P) and I get the same behaviour, it's added without an issue but afterwards it does not report any status (no motion). I'm using the sonoff edge driver on this one.
Every time I try, to add any device a browser opens with a "pretty-print"(??) error message. What am I doing wrong?
Does anyone know if there are plans to release the Smart Lock Guest Access life application outside the US, specifically Australia?
It's been a couple of years since I lost access to the RBoys app with the platform updates, and whilst the my.smarthings.com/advanced website is a workaround, it feels clunky to use.
I tried asking Samsung, but they just give you the runaround.
