Ledvance not intergrating with smartthings

I bought a Ledvance smart+ outdoor plug with matter/wifi.

I can add the device with Ledvance's app and get it to work - but when I try to add it through smartthings I get an error-code "39-501".

When I try to intergrate Ledvance system into smartthings - the device is not showing in ST.

Any ideas?

Switchbot integration problems

I have a full ZigBee setup using a smartthings Hub and a few switchbot hubs, the switchbot hubs are mainly used as IR blasters to control fans, electric candles, nightlights and a stereo. However this week all integrations have stopped working. All IR controls work from within the Switchbot app but no longer work via Smarttings which has broken a lot of our routines and light switches that would turn on the candles. Has anyone else had any issues similar? All our switchbot hubs had a firmware update as well as smartthings having an update so I don't know which is to blame, although I'm leaning towards smartthings seeing as the IR controls still work via the switchbot app.

Is SmartThings still good, or is there something better?

I've been using SmartThings in my house as a security system for 5-6 years now. I've got a bunch of contact sensors and motion sensors and that's about it.

I'm moving to a new home and debating on taking all my SmartThings stuff with me or switching to something else. Is SmartThings still a good system, or is there something better out there now a days?

Help with Bespoke electric range

Hi all. I purchased a Bespoke Electric Oven/Range back in May. It has worked fine until today when I tried to use the Smart Things app to access the inside camera. When using the camera, I didn’t think the oven light was on so I manually pushed the oven light button and ever since the internal light won’t cut on. Did I blow the bulb by accessing the app and manually cutting it on at the same time? Has this happened to anyone else?

I’ve tried taking the light cover off to see what kind of bulb it needs but the cover is super tight. Any tips for how to take the cover off without throwing the stove off the top of the mountain?

Old code causing problems

I have a zigbee smart plug that and a Samsung TV connected to my Smartthings hub (from 2021). Whenever a routine or scene turns the smart plug on or off, it turns my TV off or on.

I've tried deleting all the scenes & routines attached to the plug and recreating them and it didn't help. I went as far as removing the plug, adding a completely new plug, and recreating all new scenes and routines for it and it still turns my TV off and on.

I used to use smart lighting app to control these before Smartthings added native features and then I switched to just using Smartthings settings. A Smartthings button was used to control the TV and then it was moved to control the plug; but this was before I moved away from using smart lighting app. I still use the button to control the new plug.

Not sure what my next step should be to fix this.

3rd Party Smart Life Thermometer

My current setup is an Aeotec Smart Hub for all my ZigBee devices, set up through Smart Things, and then Smart Life linked through to SmartThings for all my WiFi devices. SmartThings then directly links through to Alexa and Google Home through SmartThings integration on both platforms. I have several 3rd party Thermometers set up through Smart Life. These have always been fine up until a few months ago where they started showing up as switches in SmartThings, so can't read the temperature anymore. I tried contacting Samsung and they blamed the information they are receiving from Smart Life, however if I log into Smart Life directly through either Alexa or Google Home it sees these correctly as thermometers and the Smart Life app itself also does.

Does anyone have any other suggestions / solutions I can try?

Automations out of whack

This started a couple days ago. At first it seemed every automation was executing at the wrong times. Like completely wrong times not even close. Pwoered down/up hub, did network repair, reset location. Now some automation are still missed but most of them run but are like 5 minutes late than what was scheduled. I used to trouble shoot with the old api but what can I do now to get down into it and see why things execute late or not at all ?

EDIT: looked at my.smartthings.com but doesn't seem to work have much. When I click on smartthings home in automations I get an error saying something went wrong try to install the app again. I am not even on an app, this is in the browser in windows 10

U-Tech Lock and Philips Hue

I have Home Assistant (run on my Synology NAS in docker). In HA, I have my front door lock (U-Bolt Pro that is set up in my U home app and Smartthings and connected to HA via Smartthings) and my entry way lights (Philips LED downlights set up in Hue). I am trying to set up an automation where when the door lock is unlocked it turns on the front entry way lights. I can get it to work if I unlock the door from HA, but I would like it to automatically work when I just unlock the door from the outside (via code, fingerprint, etc). Is this possible?

Some issue with the widgets on Smartthings

As shown in the screenshots, it looks like my home screen widgets for my Smartthings routines seem to be broken. The second image shows the preview of what they're supposed to look like, but as of this week they've somehow started looking like a weird oval shape out of nowhere. Wondering if anyone else has experienced something of the sort and if there is a fix for it.

Smartthings Energy compatible devices

Anyone knows of a way to find out Smartthings Energy compatible devices? I’m looking for Energy Meters for appliances that are not Smart and want to get the energy consumption reads on Smartthings Energy. Currently trying to avoid Smart Plugs because some of them connect directly to the wall.

I’m looking for something like the Shelly PM Mini Gen3 (which I don’t know if is compatible with Smartthings Energy) or DIN Rail switches.

Thanks

Is there a way to install a hub v3 w/out sharing location?

I'm adding another hub to try using it from another building. I've had a v3 hub for a few years and have had good experience for the most part. Once Samsung acquired ST, the app kept on asking to ALWAYS share my location, which I've never done.

In adding the new hub, it looks like I'm unable to proceed unless I always share my location. Supposedly, it's to detect my WiFi network, which we all know it's a HUGE lie.

Even if that were true, I'm connecting the hub through an ethernet connection anyway. That means there's no need for WiFi. However, it insists that I share my location.

Does anyone know of a way to bypass that?

Smartthings on Windows is worthless software doing nothing...

Sorry but i hate it when manual instructions tell you to do something in their app, but there is nothing like it in the app.

For example:
- Navigate to Favorites in the left menu

No menu at all

What left menu? All i see is a blank dark screen... there is no menu.

I can't do anything with this app. It's just blank with 2 homes which i cannot configure at all.

Smartthings compatible button?

I have a one floor lamp and a dimmer switch that controls my main lights in my office that I control via smartthings and alexa. I would like to add a button to place on my desk to control switching them on and off and ideally controlling the dim as well. Can anyone recommend any device which will work with smartthings natively I can buy?

Ideally one device that can control those separately so I don't overcrowd my desk but I understand that may not be possible.

Issues with Android Auto since update?

Been using smartthings for a while primarily to open my gate from the Android auto. In the last week since the update it's stopped working. See pictures. Clicking through doesn't fix it. I'm already signed in on the app and the gate control works on the smartthings phone app but not on AA anymore. Anyone else having issues?

PSA: Do NOT buy Smart Tags if you ever want no hassle warranty

I purchased a 4 pack of these things a few months ago and placed them on important items, one in a wholly different city. They all worked great but recently the one on my car keys began constantly disconnecting, graying out in smart things and so on. I thought perhaps it was the battery for some reason and changed it and reset the tag, but the issue persisted. Tried many thing but to no avail.

Finally I contacted Samsung for warranty and explained the situation to them, showed them I purchased it directly from them, etc. They asked me to do the basic troubleshooting and I did to no avail of course. So finally they offered warranty service and I was happy. Then I was told that actually I need to send in all 4 tags for warranty, even if the others are working perfectly fine. I was annoyed at this, but then also realized my other tag is literally in another city hours away. I was told that they still need all 4 tags and could not give me warranty unless I send in all 4.

I have no idea wtf to do now and it's going to be a pain to go get this other tag. So if you're thinking about buying these things, know that if one of them fails, you will have to send them all in, and God help you if they're not all immediately close to you.

Reolink Cameras / Doorbell Chime

Is anyone using reolink cameras/doorbells with smartthings? I recently changed over from Nest to Reolink, only to realize that there doesn't seem to be a way to integrate with smartthings. Ideally I just want to be able to automate the doorbell button pretty with some type of automation for alerts.

SmartTag to find my phone

Y'all I feel like I'm missing something very obvious here. I recently made the switch from a tile to a Smart Tag 2 for my keys that I frequently misplaced.

I've got the SmartThings app all set up, I can ring my keys and all that. The one thing I cannot do is use the Smart Tag to find my phone. Which I really would love to be able to do, as my phone constantly runs away from me (ADHD brain. I use the 'ring my phone' feature on my Garmin way more than I should).

I go to services under the tag settings, toggle on the "find phone or tablet" and I get a "check your Network connection and try again."

Under the Find my Mobile settings, I attemp to turn on "offline finding" and don't even get an error message, or just attemps to toggle on and then goes back. If I go to turn on offline finding through the SmartThings app I do get the "a network or server error occurred."

I've tried on data, and various wifi networks. Even did a network settings reset. Still nothing.

Tl;Dr "offline finding" keeps giving an error and is unable to be turned on. Any suggestions??

How to See Location Mode without Going into Submenus

So, we use various modes in our house a lot. Home, Away, Night, Walking, etc.

At present, when I just want to check on the mode of SmartThings I have to go into sub menus. Am I missing something or is there an easy way to glance at what location mode SmartThings is in?

Thank you for any help!

SmartThings Find Tag Not Near You

Has anyone else been seeing notifications from SmartThings Find telling them their SmartTag isn't near them when it is. I've been getting multiple alerts from different tags today and both are sitting right in front of me. Battery is good. My wife had the same thing happened to her the other day with her tags.

Motion detector zigbee lights.

Help I hit a snag and don't know what to do , so I have turned to you guys. . I'm trying to set up lighting for Halloween. The plan was simple, normally I wanted my white porch lights on, however when motion was detected they would switch to red. Once there was no more motion they would go back to White. Here's the snag, I can kind of get it to work however the gap between the white lights turning off and the red lights turning on needs to be almost instant for this to work. Thanks

Smartthings app keeps asking me to add neighbors lights!

My neighbor has obviously recently gotten a matter enabled smart light, I don't have any matter devices or a Smartthings hub however my app keeps showing a pop up asking me to add this light to my account. I get it multiple times a day and it is very annoying. I can't seem to find a way to stop the app asking me to add it. I have even tried to add it and it says I can't as I don't have a hub!!

Any ideas?

Can’t use the app to start my washing machine

Hi all, I recently got the Samsung washer model WW11BB944DGBS1. I’ve had no issues with the app for weeks until now. I had been able to load the washer and then start it on the app when I was at work so it would be ready when I was home. However over the past 2 days it no longer lets me control it from the app. I tried again holding down the phone button on the washer to activate smart things but still nothing.

It lets me send a cycle to the washer but I have to manually press start on the washer. I can’t pause or turn it on within the app even when smart things is activated on the washer. The options for start and pause etc are greyed out. Anyone know how to help with this? I prefer to have the cycles start when at work so they’re no sitting in the machine for hours

Connecting Sonos One Speaker to Samsung TV via a Hub

Hello! I recently got a Samsung tv and want to connect my Sonos one speaker to the tv. The smart things app states I need to use a hub to connect the speaker and tv.

Any recommendations for a hub to be able to connect the two ?

Family Hub 9.0 Forced Ads from Food App

The Food app is now displaying widget / banner-style ads for its own functionality directly on the home screen. These are not widgets that can be removed and the Food app cannot be uninstalled. These ads also cannot be hidden for more than 24 hours. I personally feel this is unacceptable and I want to know if this behavior might violate any form of consumer rights. ChatGPT (which I know is not a lawyer) had this to say:

  • Consumer Protection Laws: Consumer protection laws prohibit companies from introducing new features that adversely affect the product's original functionality without the consumer's consent. If the ads were not disclosed at the time of purchase, this could be considered a deceptive practice.
  • Breach of Contract: If the fridge's advertising was not part of the original terms and conditions or user agreement when you purchased it, this behavior might be in breach of contract by altering the product's functionality after sale.
  • Implied Warranty of Merchantability: Products are generally expected to perform as advertised. Introducing ads that cannot be turned off might violate the implied warranty if it significantly impairs the product's intended use.

I've already opened a ticket, and if anyone else would like to open one you may call 1-866-813-2404 and ask for Family Hub support.

Does anyone have ideas on how (or even if) we can fight to stop this behavior going forward?
