I'm trying to get into the Fastboot mode of my Gen 2 Echo Show 5 I'm trying to mod it but I need help as I can only get to this screen. I need all of the options so I can get rid of the default OS.

I've got two WiFi networks in my house, and for reasons, I've had to connect at various points to both networks. Amazon has saved both networks, and the dots randomly change between them, which is a pain when eg playing music on speaker groups. When I set it to network 1, I want it to stay on network 1. And when I connect to network 2 I want it staying in network 2.

Has anyone figured out how to turn off the notifications on a single specific echo spot (2024) vs turning them off globally? Do Not Disturb shuts down the announcements and communication options. Turning off notifications shuts it down for all echos in the house.

When Amazon sends a notification, a bell and yellow underline shows up on the screen instead of the date and weather along with the clock.

Our Echo Show 10 was moved and the range, idle position and the motion follow is not performing correctly. Can I adjust this through the app?

I have had amazon music unlimited for a while and have enjoyed using my echos for listening to music. Lately I've gotten into old radio shows. Gunsmoke, Dragnet, X-1 etc. When playing music I do not get any commercials but when playing the old radio shows I am subjected to 2 ads every time a new episode starts. These shows are coming from amazon and not a separate service like siriusXM. What's the deal?

Is it just me, or is the flash briefing on the Echo Show incredibly frustrating? I used to enjoy having it as part of my morning routine, but lately, it seems like it’s defaulting to audio-only versions of the news.

For example, NPR has a video version, and the Echo Show used to actually show it so I could see the news—but now it’s just audio. Plus, out of all the flash briefing options, a bunch of them don’t even work anymore.

I mean, they are a successful company. shouldn’t they be putting easy to use? Navigating, organizing, smart, home, lights, etc., sharing skills across household accounts, it’s all so difficult to do.

And how do I get the default player to use TuneIn Radio? I like to listen to a local station (KXT) but the echo show default is iHeartRadio. IHeartRadio does not display the song that’s playing, TuneIn does.

Going to help for Amazon help is ridiculous. If anyone has any pointers or thoughts, let me know. I’m sure it’ll just end up being “It is what it is”.

Does anyone own the following combination? I want to know if an Echo Spot (1st or 2nd gen) will be able to unlock my door from the touchscreen when someone rings the intercom.

I have a Samsung TV S95C Alexa enabled + soundbar Q600B

So all the sound is frontal (TV speakers + soundbar), I was thinking if we can add an Echo Dot as an additional speaker that will act like a central rear speaker it would be great!

Is it feasible to add an Echo Dot (5th gen) to an actual soundbar?

The Q600B has BT but no Wifi , though the TV uses Wifi and manages the soundbar.

I gifted my girlfriend an Amazon echo for Christmas last year. Today her sister was using it and it played music backwards? Never happened to me ever and it's odd lol

Does anyone have a solution to get more relevant or useful cards in rotation? As I’m standing here, it’s shown me my Liked songs from Spotify, a song I listened to once three weeks ago on Spotify, Tennis news, one photo of a mountain, and then three cards depicting different products I looked at but ultimately didn’t buy on Amazon.

Is there any way to filter half of this garbage out, and get just headlines, the weather, and the occasional landscape/professional photo?

This is an older story maybe about a year old from my mom. According to her she was changing in the living room where the Alexa used to be. Randomly it opened the camera and repeated the phrase “Show me the other side” while she was changing. I have no reason to not believe her. What’s the possibility’s of what could have happened?

I use my Alexa as an alarm in the morning and play music from it. I’m trying to stay off my phone as much as possible in the mornings and it’s been challenging to get Alexa to switch the music from the echo to my Bluetooth headphones. I have both them and my phone connected but I even have trouble getting it to switch to my phone. I’ve tried saying “switch music to my AirPods” and other variations but it always says I’m not sure how to help with that. Any tips on how to transfer what I’m listening to easier? I can’t hear my echo from the bathroom where I do most of my getting ready

Me personally I use Focus as I hate alarms but need to use them and it’s the quietest one.

In my searches, I haven't come across any new announcements or formal announcements that an Amazon Echo with Claude will be released. Has anyone else?

I did just purchase the latest 3rd generation Amazon Echo Show 8. But given it was released in 2023, I'm guessing it likely won't have Claude support. On the one hand, I could see Amazon wishing some of their existing devices had Claude support because then this could promote a subscription (unless it's only to Claude Pro and not Amazon). But I'm unsure of the tech specs of current devices and whether even a software update would be enough to allow Claude to access the Echo as an integrated speaker: well, an allegedly smarter alternative that is.

Bought an Echo Hub and a Echo Show on Sunday. Since then, no luck after connecting to local wifi. Keep getting the above frustrating message... Contacted technical support and they confirmed that "the team is dealing with a global technical issue at this time and are working diligently to fix it" but can not give an ETA.

Was just interested if anyone else here is facing the same issue. I'm located in Australia

I just wondered if anyone with both an Echo Spot and Pop could comment on how the audio quality compares. I understand it will be subjective and I guess depend on how the equalisers are set up, but I'd be very interested to have your thoughts. Thank you.

I’ve got two echo studio speakers and a subwoofer in a home theater pair, but because of space limitations, I’m much closer to one speaker than the other. Is there a way to have the further speaker be louder than the closer one and still have them all be in the same group?

Is this for real? I got and plugged it in today to BT stream after proper pair and had zero extra bass. been googling / setting poking all evening til I found this. This a true story from anyone with a current echo dot + ED Subwoofer paired proper in the app (yea i did pair them in the alexa app and confirmed all on same network and in same group)

I want my echo show 8 to play Spotify since I fall asleep to music at night but I don't want the screen lit or shuffling through suggestions, I just want the time. Is this possible? It seems do not disturb doesn't switch to the dark screen when music is playing. I have night mode on a schedule but it also doesn't seem to switch on.

I love my Amazon echo for simple tasks like timers,weather,reminders,etc. I also enjoy watching movies on some of the apps however I want a larger screen. Any way to get the alexa programming to work on another device? I saw they discontinued the 15 in screen.

Either Alexa goes "something went wrong," activates some other skill like Spotify or it "kind of" works (ex: screen turns off a second and then turns back on).

And this is on ALL of my Alexa devices.

Is Alexa going downhill or something? It seems like Alexa is getting worse with time. Is Amazon developing an AI version of Alexa or something to make it better?

Or is it time to switch to google?

My WiFi on my echo is saying incorrect password but it’s not. I’ve tried everything. Resetting, rebooting, nothing fixes this. Does anyone have a fix?

And let us know what happens because we are dying here with 'Alexa, spank my wife'... And it's a slightly different answer half the time.

We've been having this issue for about 2 weeks now. The screen go black and then won't come back. You can hit the mute button and you see the red line across the bottom but nothing. The only temporary fix has been unplugging and plugging in again. I'm hesitant to do a factory reset.

I have tried messing around with the nighttime settings and auto brightness to name a few. Some seemed like they fixed it but eventually it would happen again. I'm guessing they released a broken update but who knows how long it might take to fix.

Anyone else seeing this and if so, what have you done to resolve it?

I've had echo devices for a few years, and had one in my bedroom to listen to Audible books to help me sleep. A couple of weeks ago I purchased 2 x Echo Dots, 5th Gen, so I could pair them together in my bedroom and listen in stereo.
At first they worked, but yesterday for some reason they work fine with anything but Audible - I ask it to read my book, it tells me it's getting my book, then nothing - just total bloody silence! Plays music just fine, in stereo, but they now won't read my book unless I ungroup and unpair them, even though Alexa says it's resuming my book! So I can't listen to Audible in stereo any more. I've tried several times to reset the devices and set them up again, but still the same problem.

Does anyone have any advice to help me resolve this?
