Hey guys, I have a 2018 stelvio quad. Just got the oil done by my local shop, they have done it before no problems. This time when I left totally fine then got gas, put it in race mode and then had to stop right away then throttle body light came on and fuel code misfire codenow in limp mode. Cleared the codes and now won’t come out it seems. Has newer battery as well. Has anyone dealt with this or might know what to do? Thanks a ton. Love my quad so much!
Recently got and installed the SILA Blow off adapter plate. This is the first and only "mod" that I have on my car since it was cheap and easy to install. I like the whoosh/pssst noise the car makes when I let off the throttle as the turbo is spooled.
I am wondering if would need a tune or if this hurts the car at all?

Was at a video store looking at some old games and stumbled upon this one. Think it’s pretty cool there was a game! Has anyone tried it out? Is it worth getting?
Ai mai visto una giulia poliziotto?
10k budget for next car... would love to drive an Alfa:
I’m looking at Tonales (I know, I know - I’ve read through thoughts on the Tonale in this sub…). I just called to get a quote from my car insurer and they won’t insure an Alfa in New York. It seems so weird. Has anyone run into this or know why this might be?
My wife bought a Stelvio recently and discovered that the Alfa dealer in Charleston sells but won’t service them. Same in the other larger cities/towns in SC. The answer given is to drive to Rock Hill SC (3 hours away).
And recommendations besides the expedition?
Can I afford a new $90k Giulia QV with a $100k salary? Assuming a 20% down payment of $18k and 6 years of payments, I would have to pay $1k/month. Would this put a strain on my finances or is it an acceptable expense?
So to start, this is not to solve any issues, since there’re none. I’m just curious to other’s their recommendations and common practice regarding oil flushes.
I commonly change the oil with the recommended selenia digitek 0w30 every 10-12.5k KMs. With every other oil change I add the liqui moly engine flush per instructions.
What is your common practice? Do you do this at all? For me I don’t have any problems but i also religiously change my oil (quicker in periods where i’ve subjectively driven shorter distances), so it’s hard to pinpoint if there’s a huge benefit from the flushes, also with regard to keeping the multiair free and flowing.
Hi guys,
I've had my Giulietta for 10 years now and loved it but it's sadly time for it to go soon I think (I've put 107,00 miles on it).
I'm undecided what to start to look at. My work has an incredible competitive EV scheme (honestly they are insanely cheap) but I really don't like any of the EVs. They just feel like appliances (my colleagues have the usual Teslas, Audi, BMWs, Mercedes, ford etc).
Anyway, I after something new and want something with a bit of go (my friend has a 2022 440i and it's a riot). I was interested in the Volvo V60 T8 but my heart always draws me back to Alfas (my dad has owned them all my life).
Anyone with a Giulia or Stelvio Veloce assume you'd recommend it? How is the power? The 2.9 isn't something I could live with (or probably afford the maintenence haha) and I'm just a little concerned the veloce doesn't have much poke to it (haven't drive one yet). The MPG isn't an issues but it seems quite low for the power? (Not a concern, just an observation).
If the 0-62 was in the high 4s I'd buy one tomorrow but just concerned how it actually feels (I want the sensation of speed rather than actual speed - not that fussed on top trumps 0-60s)
I don't want anything as quick as my friends 440i as that is pretty ridiculous (0-62 is about 4 seconds) but want something with a bit of excitement when I drive home through the mountains.
Please save me from the EV hell.
I bought a 2013 Mito at the beginning of this year and only had one problem where I had to take it to the Fiat dealers for a check engine light and an oil sump replacement, but the other day after driving home from work and the car being perfectly fine when parked up the alarm went off in the middle of the night and the key fob wouldn't work to unlock it now the engine wont start at all. Thought it might be a dead battery tried jump starting it several times and nothing, so I called out an AA mechanic who tried everything to get it started even bump start by towing it up the street but nothing. At first he thought it might be the starter motor but by the end suggested it could be the ECM, any thoughts?
The electric windows will not close either due to the car being completely dead so I've had to throw a large blanket over the top of the car to stop the inside getting wet.
I’ve set my eyes on a Guila Quadrifoglio. It’s used with approx 60k miles on it. The reputation here in the UK from a lot of people is the age old ‘an Alfa is the best car you’ll ever own if it goes well for you but if they breakdown, they’ll be breaking down forever. Or a variation of that.
Is this even true? Where did this come from.
I worry as I’m buying a used car with 60k miles on it! This will be my first Alfa
I have a new Alfa Romeo Tonale but it seems I'm unable to download the My Alfa Connect app as it says its not available in my region on the Google play store.
Is there any way to get the My Alfa Connect app or are these services not available in every country?
I am looking at these second hand ones. Please help to how I might identify their authenticity.
Tyres are pirelli sotozero winter ones sizes correlate with oe specs - one good indication I see.
Hi
I am in the market for a new (to me) car at the minute and am struggling to decide whether I should follow my heart or my wallet. I LOVE the Giulia but doing around 12k miles a year (mostly commuting), I am torn between a petrol Giulia or a more economic diesel saloon (C-Class or 3-Series). I know there's a TD version of the Giulia, but it doesn't do it for me like the petrol does. The list price in the UK of the Giulia is a little higher than a Bimmer or Merc, which i could stomach, depending on how running costs compare. Would anyone be happy to share what their rough annual running costs are of a 200 bhp Giulia please? Real world economy, annual servicing fees/intervals, tyre costs/frequency, etc? I'm looking at around 30k miles, used and would also be considering a stage 1 remap, are they worth it?
Hi all, I just test drove a 916 spider and something that really surprised me was how stiff the accelerator was. It was really stiff but I didn't have to press down far to rev it. Is this normal? Or was something wrong with it?
I drive a VW polo gti and the accelerator is completely different. Nowhere near as stiff and it has pretty far travel to rev it.
Bit of a last hurrah, I'm looking for a set of the 18" GT Blackline wheels, in Australia. I know it's a 1% shot but let's see how we go. Open to international shipping depending on how absurd it is, if anyone is anywhere else and wants to offload some. Cheers.
I have a Tonale loaner. The physical lock on the liftgate is stuck closed and must have malfunctioned somehow. Now I can’t latch the liftgate, it just hits metal on metal with the U shaped latch. I lifted the latch all the way to the top and the horn sounded 3 times, but the latch is still locked. None of the buttons work on the hatch, the button in the car or on the remote.
I have work tomorrow and so tired. How do I get the latch to shut?
With winter coming, it was time to wash my ‘73 Spider and put it away for its annual winter siesta. I bought her new 50 years and 10 months ago. It still even has its original clutch @ 112,600 miles.
Quick note English is not my native language so sorry in advance for grammar mistakes.
I recently decided to buy myself my first car and I really want to buy an Alfa Romeo either the 2015 giulietta or a 2009 159.
I wanted to ask how good is the reliability of the cars and how expensive are they in maintenance and is it worth to buy a 10+ year old Alfa
