Clean hands is one of the most disgusting things I have read. This chapter made me physically uncomfortable to be in my own skin. How Qing-Jao tried to kill herself and her struggle with the oil was almost too much to read in one sitting.

I felt as if I had become a clean-freak that needed to wash my whole body and it hurt me to see her suffering especially since it was done by her father. I don't have much to talk about here, I want to forget this chapter. Great read though but dear god did I have to read that.

Janes reveal to Valentine was awesome. I thought it was so cool how they brought in the Spooky action from a distance from Quantum mechanics. This phenomena was thought up by Einstein from a hundred years ago and the ansible is a perfect application of this discovery. I really like how Card was able to bring a perfect explanation for the futuristic tech that is used.

I find myself really liking Jakt and Miro and I am surprised that I could fall in love with these characters. Especially since I was only looking forward to reading about Peter, Valentine, Andrew and Bean.

It's not a terribly crazy idea if I'm being honest. Think of Starways Congress as Chairman Mao. They manipulate and use people for political gain. They brainwash youth so they can carry out what they need. Think of Qing-jao as a Red Guard. She's young, and her mind is fairly convinced when confronted by an adult. She sees adults as her superior. Everything they say can't possibly be wrong, otherwise they wouldn't be an adult. She obeys whatever her superior says. It's not off, in the brainwashing department at least.

I think something showing Gloriously Bright, the Pequeninos, and Jane would be appropriate, as I think they are the three keys to the story. Maybe Ender and Miro.

Kovano is the mayor who succeeds Bosquinha in Xenocide. He's not like a important character, but I do think he's cool for that one meeting where he just roasted the crap out of Quara. I laughed so many times during that chapter. Anyways, who do you guys prefer and why?

I'd probably just teleport somewhere for kicks.

Would you accept to have a speaker for the dead,

• talk about your entire life (basically all your secrets good or bad)in front of your family, friends and foes?
• how would you feel to be at a ceremony for someone you know, and learn of some disturbing secrets they had?

the twist towards the end was one of the best bits of the whole series.

Well, I've acquired the modship of this subreddit, and it is my fondest hope that all 7 Xenocide fans (according to XKCD) will join me in making this a fun community to discuss the books in the Ender's Game universe, particularly in the Speaker for the Dead strand of the story! Come on in, suggest changes, make posts, and above all, show your love for the Xenocide!
