I'm the original owner of a 2015 Limited with about 220k miles. When driving at normal speeds, say below 60mph, it shakes and shudders when I apply the brakes. It's started doing this for maybe the last 5k miles. At lower speeds it's more pronounced, so when at maybe 25 or 30 it seriously feels like the engine is going to stall. The RPMs drop and it the tachometer needle seems to pulse. It's worse at lower temps.
The dealer has no idea, they replaced the PCV valve and said they can't duplicate it. That isn't true, but they don't seem want to to deal with it.
Thanks in advance for anything you can tell me.
Friendly reminder for anyone considering a Fumoto valve for their Crosstrek to make oil changes easier: Fumoto's Cyber Monday sale is going on now. It's only 15% off, but they rarely offer special pricing. **Code is CYBER24 (it's in tiny font at the top of their web page lol) https://www.fumotousa.com/?utm_source=mailing_list&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Black+Friday+24&utm_content=15%25_off&R6wF9AvbqY=B89D6AED20E25F5ECA2CFB81F0B9A883
So I just bought the Sharptones and are on the way to me. Aside from the horns themselves, do I need to buy anything else to be able to install them on my 2018 XV? What does a "wiring harness" mean? Can you just not use the relay that comes with the horns and use your own wires to wire up everything based on the inatallation diagrams provided by the horn manufacturer?
I am having a recurring cycle of issues with my 2018 crosstrek. 77,000 miles. When I start the car occasionally it will initially fire the ignition, fail, pause for a second or two, than refire and the car will start. During that drive or the next one the car will be really stuttery in the 20-30 mph range. This will usually trigger the dashboard Christmas tree of lights mid drive. Lights will turn off on their own after a few drives and the starting and stuttery shifting issues go away for a couple weeks. This is the third time this all has happened. The first time the shop brushed me off because the lights turned off the morning I took it in. I previously had an issue with the ignition coil. The software recall update had been updated when I bought it used but the coil ended up already being damaged and broke in the middle of a drive. Should I push for the ignition coil to be looked at again or other ideas to what the issue is? The car is almost paid off so it’d be nice to keep it for a while but it seems like this car routinely has minor issues and I’m kinda ready to trade it in for a Toyota.
I have a XV Crosstrek 2015 and i need a new driver side wiper (left side) and wondered which model do y'all use
Gettin chilling in Minnesota! Glad I have garage parking 🤣🥶 Also showing off the lights, thinking about loosin the lights and doing a different roof rack( this one is trash and starting to rust) any recommendations on racks…?
2016 crosstrek. Cooling fans work but only turn on when ac is operating. So I know they work so no need to check for relays or connection (which I have) my blue coolant light turns on when engine is cold and turns off when engine is at operating temp. So that would mean my ECT is working. I have felt radiator hoses and the top gets super hot and the bottom is not anywhere near as hot so pretty sure I need a Thermostat.. my big question is why in the world is there no check engine light/ a bad thermostat isn’t going to effect the operation of my cooling fans… do I need a new ECU..?
Dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree just in for the holidays. abs light, traction light, hill assist, blind spot detection, even the rear wheels on the Subaru aren't spinning when I jack up the car. Everything is going to the rear left abs speed sensor, I replaced with 2 Amazon sensors and still not working, should I get a OEM one from the dealer for 4x the price? What else could it be?
My wife has a 2019 Crosstrek 2.0 CVT Limited w/Eyesight, ever since I replaced the driver rear trailing arm eyesight has been disabled. Could the headlight level sensor that attaches to the trailing arm disable eyesight if it has an issue?
The passenger window control buttonon the driver's side gave up and broke off a few thousand miles ago. I'm finally annoyed enough that I want to fix it.
Do I have to replace the whole control module? I thought I saw a part # for just the button but now I can't find it.
I can finally put my 200k badge on! I'm sad I missed watching it roll over.
Hey y’all, my mother-in-law has a 2014 XV. About a week ago all the lights on her dash came on, and her cruise control doesn’t work anymore because of it. She took it in to a dealer and they replaced some kind of oil valve and said that should take care of the problem and it did temporarily, but two days later, all the lights are back on. Anyone have an idea of what might be going on?
Imagine you’re an alien landing on Earth for the first time — that’s how much I know about cars. I recently bought a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek, and today, on the first cold snowy day, my car completely died. I have an outdoor garage in a very cold city in Wisconsin (yes, I know!). I’m pretty sure I need to replace the car battery(thanks to google!). I did some research on Amazon, but I got confused by all the different sizes, brands, and options. What battery would be the best and most reliable for winter conditions? And is my car’s battery Group 35 or Group 48? Current battery picture is attached! Thanks!
Just bought a 2014, it’s just the regular key start option, but I haven't been able to find a specific answer online. Does this model have remote start, or the capacity to add it?
My work uses industrial TIMKEN for their new assemblies. Wish I knew this before I got my wheel bearings could have had them order the HA590648’s from the distributor wholesale! 🤣
