The Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman controversy, the "unsolicited opinions about Israel" controversy, the Spider-Woman variant cover controversy, the female Thor controversy, the Batgirl variant cover controversy (a.k.a. the #ChangeTheCover/#DontChangeTheCover/#SaveTheCover/#WeWantThisCover/#CoverGate controversy), The Captain Hydra controversy, and similar issues are welcome. More generally, attempts to genderswap, race swap, retcon out "problematic" cannon, "desexualise" characters, and generally make comics more PC rather than creating new comics are welcome as well. These should all be considered under the #ComicGate umbrella term.
The "Wertham" in the subreddit's name refers to Fredric Wertham, a mid-twentieth-century cultural crusader against comics, most famous for his 1954 book Seduction of the Innocent. He either believed, or pretended to believe, that comics corrupt children and teenagers. His efforts culminated in the foundation of the Comics Code Authority, the dissolution of tens of comic book publishers, and the unemployment of hundreds of comic book industry professionals, most never to return to the industry again. His toxic legacy lives on in the regressive left's cultural crusade against comics in specific and geek culture in general.
This name was chosen because #ComicsGate goes beyond any single act DC, Marvel, or any other company or organization is directly and solely responsible for. It is a cultural war against the medium, and this name epitomizes it well.

Spoiler Tag How-To:
reddit does not have a native spoiler tag facility, so we've implemented one in the sub's CSS.
Use Markdown link syntax. The anchor section can be blank or can include a spoiler alert. The link section must include the string #s, a space, and then the spoiler content in quotation marks.
For example:
[](#s "This content is protected by the spoiler tag.")
is rendered as:
and
[Spoiler alert!](#s "This content is protected by the spoiler tag.")
is rendered as:
Multiple paragraphs and Markdown syntax are not supported for the spoiler content. Only plain text in an unbroken paragraph is supported. If your content stretches to multiple paragraphs, declare a spoiler tag for each paragraph. No workaround is available for Markdown syntax.

The one from the top of my head is Uncle Ben.
He's the one that made little girl lethal, and that he got caught with CP
TBH, he gives off red flags when he said."For me, it started with short stories, just written as a pleasant pastime avocation, which over time built into a novelized passion project about a beautiful but damaged, young girl(why not young women?), a titanically Wicked City, and a world of five vast empires, a world filled with characters that gradually became as real to me in my mind as our own, a world I sorely desired to share."
And the fact his comic is called Little Girl Lethal.
In the Defenders miniseries by writer Al Ewing and artist Javier Rodríguez, Cloud corrects Red Harp, stating that her pronoun is "they" rather than "she", while they (the Defenders, not Cloud) are fighting against Galactus's mother, Taaia.
Here's a /r/comicbooks thread on it, unsurprisingly locked. Please don't vote there after clicking through so we don't get accused of brigading.

Feel free to discuss below.
In the recently released Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #4, the Joker becomes pregnant and gives birth to a mud monster via a magic spell gone wrong. The mud monster then transforms into a humanlike form and events ensue. The whole thing is obviously M2F transgender wish fulfillment.

My are that since comicsgate creators are mostly fans, they don't have good writer practices like reading their comics with fresh eyes after a few days after they finish their comics to see the comic is actually good.
I also heard that there late delivery problem.
I don't know, i didn't even read comicsgate or comicsgate adjacent comics yet I only are those two from people.
Iron heart redeems Riri Williams as a character.
Full stop it's that's good. Tbh I thought all the Riri hate was overblown but it's understandable. You can tell this book is on another from bendis' take on the character. Bendis has typical Bendis dialog and had her even begging to be discriminated against. As a black person I found it and alot of marvel at the time kinda cringe. Like have you read the recent Miles "by odins fade" Morales? Anyway, I pretty much discounted the character after that. After seeing how cool the rippaverse is and how a black man started his own comic universe starring a black man I wanted check out the series marvel has to offer that were written by black people and who aren't like woke af. I started with iron heart expecting to get that same bendis treatment but I was pleasantly surprised.
Ewing masterfully makes Riri feel like a real person with real issues and faults while simultaneously making us like and root for her. Chicago is her Gotham, her metrapolis, her Dakota. And Ewing helps bring an authenticity to it, being from there. The whole book is authentic. The writing for example has slang that a young black girl would actually say. I'm a teacher and the girls at my school talk like riri. The dialog is less by odins fade and more lowkey.
The plot is dope where we see Riri isn't handed victory she earns it and doesn't always win. Her supporting cast is expanded on and is likable. Her "Jarvis" makes perfect sense and seriously is one of my favorite editions. She had her organic team up with Shuri and it was one of the best team up arcs I've read in a while. Like they immediately weren't friends. They slowly grew closer and had distinct voices. There's obscure characters from Marvels history given new life in that arc too. I love how they didn't do the typical woke up thing and make these black characters automatically friends and agree on everything. It was a earned friendship and I would love to see more. The art is top notch as well. You can't go wrong reading this series. Even the big bad felt compelling! I thought his connection to riri was very compelling and I loved how Ewing introduced him felt very organic to me.
What upsets me is when marvel has a great run like this but doesn't build on it. I would have loved to see more of this Riri and not whatever bendis did. Please check out a trade if you can and please go in with an open mind!
Y: The Last Man is about all men on earth dying except one. Wouldn't you consider that "Neo Marxist Man Hating Radical Femnazi" propaganda?
Or why doesn't anyone ever talk about A-Force? I thought that one had lame writing. How is it that everyone can complain about that one scene in Infinity War where a bunch of women characters play Keepaway with the Guantlet for two minutes, but no one talks about A-Force?
