Beware of Glamlora

I'm having a small wedding dinner and decided to look for a nice white dress. I came across glamlora and found a lot of gorgeous dresses and thought "wow this is amazing". I decided to order three different dresses and two different sizes each, in hopes that one would fit right. I was a little bit hesitant when I checked out because I wasn't sure if this website was a scam but I ordered any way through my PayPal a $900 order and honestly I regret it because I should have done it through my AmEx so that I can dispute the charge.

2 days later I get an email from glamlora saying that I can't order more than one size per dress. They don't allow you to order multiple sizes per dresses. And if you do, you won't be able to return them. Also keep in mind, these are standard sizes not custom sizes. They claim that they make every dress to order. So what's the difference in having standard sizes and custom orders if it's all the same? Also they charge you $100 for shipping and the shipping is about 2 to 3 weeks out. After going back and forth via email with 12 hour delays on each end. I finally tell them that I want to cancel my whole order because now they're trying to force me to order one dress even though I don't know if the dress will fit me. Then they proceede to tell me that there is a cancellation policy and of course it's all in their favor because now they're counting every single hour and discounting that from my refund so from $926 now they are wanting to refund me $844. Of course they still want me to order a dress and say that I can return the dress if it doesn't fit but I don't even want to work with them and now I'm being forced to order from them because I don't want to lose a hundred bucks! This is so predatory. If you don't want to end up in a similar situation, super frustrated and pissed off. I would definitely not bother with this website. Unless of course you think that you can order a dress that will fit you right off the bat cuz that certainly is not my case. I am Super disappointed, if I could tell everybody in the world not to order from them I would, but I figure most people come to Reddit to figure out if things are scam cuz I know I did and I found a video of a girl that custom ordered a dress and her dress arrived super late and it didn't even fit her properly so I don't know why I decided that I could order multiple dresses and think that I'd have better luck. So keep looking, don't bother ordering from these people. Especially if you have an event coming up soon they're shipping policy is shit and their return policy and cancellation policy is all in their favor and you'll get screwed over. Save your money.

My original post was rude removed because I had put it under scams but once you read this you'll understand.

Wife’s Wedding dress is still not ready and we’re 9 days from the big day

Hello everyone,

I'm honestly at a loss right now and feeling pretty helpless as I try to support my wife through this difficult situation. She's understandably devastated, and I’m doing everything I can to find a way to make this right. She’s attended several fittings, most recently today, and each time, the dress has either not been ready or, even worse, altered incorrectly. The dress itself was purchased from a reputable shop, and the seamstress came highly recommended by them.

We’re in the Los Angeles area, and if anyone has any advice or suggestions, it would mean so much.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!

Dream Dress Disaster

Looking for this dress or any advice, I’m desperate and panicking. Posted in r/weddingplanning as well. After looking far and wide, I found this dream dress of mine (no longer made) at a local bridal shop in a size 14. I am a size 2. This past August, I was led to believe it was being perfectly altered and would be ready in less than a week. The owner of the shop called me today to tell me the dress has yet to be touched. My wedding is in 6 weeks.

Veil or Cape?

Honestly I LOVE the drama of a cape, but I think the dress has so much volume and flow already, that a veil might work better.

Based on this dress, what do you think?

Balykina brand - is this legit?

Found the cutest afterparty dress on a website that popped up on my instagram called Balykina but looks like this brand is fairly new and based in the Ukraine... can't find any reviews online but did find a dress on Poshmark for resale. Does anyone know if this brand is legitimate?

Shapewear for tight crepe dress?

In this photo I’m wearing the Spanx mid-thigh shapewear and I can see the line where the shapewear ends … crying since I spent so much on this.

Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for shapewear for tight, crepe dresses. Want to get it during Black Friday :)

Help me find a dupe!!!

I am searching to find a store or even online shop where I can purchase a gown similar to this. Its a Chiffon A line with a modern basque waist and lace back. I love this light and airy look and the basque waist!!!! I am in Ontario, Canada and ideally would like to stay under $2500. I am getting married in July so am crunched for time!!!

Good Jenny Packham 'Lotus' dupes?

A (true, ideally not champagne) gold or silver sequined wedding dress is my dream, and I love the idea of some cape action or dramatic sleeves! But where to look when my budget is under $1k?

I have looked at previous "gold" and "Jenny Packham" posts here, but a lot of the dresses linked are no longer available.

Like so many, I'm in love with Jenny Packham's lotus, cape effect gown. I'm looking for something a bit 'elevated' from some of the prom/evening gowns I have found online so far (think more bodice structure/detailing, or embellishments).

My ideal is a v-neck, a-line skirt, mid-length or cape-like sleeves. I'm a pear shape and size 46/16, so I'm also having a bit of trouble picturing myself in some dresses that I'm finding. Any pointers are gratefully appreciated!

Wedding Dress Search Questions!

Hey all,

So I've been scouring the internet trying to find decently priced bridal gowns. All I want is a timeless style ballgown silhouette. Bonus points if I can find a fitted dress with an overskirt so that I can have two looks in one. I've really been struggling with the fabric tho. I kinda feel like tulle or similar type fabrics feel kinda flimsy to me. I'd love something more structured like mikado or a jacquard brocade (the brocades are my fave but I don't see many with the overskirt option. Has anyone come across something like this and can possibly lead me in a decent direction? is this not popular?

Said yes to the dress 🥰

Two weeks ago I made an appointment to go to an Alena Leena trunk show to see one dress and ended up falling in love with this one lol.

I thought I was going to feel weird being by myself but honestly it was great. Just me and the shop owner. I didn’t say yes that day because my mom and sister were coming in to town to look at other dresses with me the following week (this past weekend).

Long story short, I tried on a few other dresses but nothing made me feel as dreamy as this one. I’m so excited and can’t stop thinking about it 🥰

Need help with civil wedding dress - ASAP

Hello everyone, I really need your help me to find the right dress. I hope you can share your ideas with me. I do not have so much friend to help me and I am not a fan of weddings so I am really nervous about it.

I am 28 year old, we will have our civil wedding in municipality and later a celebration in a restaurant (really good) with close friends and a family in the south of Italy. My mum is also suggesting me to buy second dress for the restaurant. What do you think, I still could not find the first dress!! :D. We will do this at the end of December. I am Turkish, and my boyfriend is Italian, so later on in spring/summer, we will do one more celebration in Turkey too.

Right now because of my budget and winter wedding, now, I cannot wear my dream dress. Also, I want to keep it simple, modern and elegant. I will attach some links, I hope you can open it. I normally wear size M (38).

Dress storage

Hi! I’ve bought a dress one year away from my wedding (far I know), what is the best storage method you recommend?

Currently, the dress is hanging in my bedroom and its garment bag. It has three hanging straps two in the inside of the corset and one for the trail.

I don’t want to damage the shape of it, should I lay this down on my bed? Should I invest in a steamer for the day in case it crinkles throughout storage time?

So many questions!

Hi! Help me find this please?!

I’m currently wedding dress shopping and I found this one online and I’m in love! The issue: it was on a website that I’m not sure I trust, “daisy style dress”. I tried doing a reverse image search on Google but I’m new to doing that and was unable to find anything other than that website, though it really feels like a knock off of another brand.

So! I know it’s a long shot but was hoping someone may be able to help me find this dress.

Thanks in advance, congrats to all and happy wedding dress shopping! ❤️
