Hi All, I got married in Jan 2024, and it was beautiful weather and the dress didnt get any stains on it except stains from sweat inside the bodice. My wedding dress is a ball gown with a hoop so its massive and places are quoting me saying $1500-$2000AUD for dry cleaning and this is just money that I don't have. Some dry cleaners are really scaring me saying if I don't it's going to really impact my dress over time and I will regret it. Do you all agree with that?
Didn’t think I’d be going for a second look or a reception dress, but I recently went to BHLDN / Anthropologie weddings for my best friend’s dress shopping appointment and this caught my eye when we were browsing the online catalogue for her. It totally has a subtle Vivienne Westwood corsetry vibe!
Unfortunately our local BHLDN didn’t have this dress in store, but I’m contemplating ordering it and just swallowing the shipping/handling fees and restock fees if it doesn’t work out. Would that be crazy???
I absolutely love the dress I ended up picking out (dress #2 in my previous post for those who are wondering!) and am absolutely over the moon about wearing it for the ceremony, but it is a large ballgown and I do wonder if it would be difficult to dance in during the reception, even with some good bustling. Any brides who feel strongly one way or another about having a second look / reception dress?
I found a dress that I LOVE, but when looking at the picture if me in it I felt like I was pregnant on it. I know it's me overthinking, but any brides with this issue that regretted it?
I am trying shape wear too, but I fear I will hate my pictures and regret it
After ~40 dresses, this is the only one I truly love. Haven't bought yet but plan to.
Thing is, the neckline is a little low for my more modest taste. I plan to meet with a seamstress in a week but want some background knowledge and potential solutions before going in. This was a try-at-home sample and if I can't get in within the next week, I'll have to return the dress and visit with only pictures.
First things first, I zipped into this dress okay but wonder if it's the right size. Based off my bust measurements I need to go up a size, but even with this current size I had to clip in the sides a bit. I basically need more cup less band, but it's unclear if going up a size will get me that. I bounced around a bit and I'm not spilling out, but I definitely wish I had more full coverage.
I do want to ask for a front center boning to give me more support. I'm hoping that would prop up the neckline a bit too?
I don't really like the look of nude or white mesh covering the cleavage. I'm open to adding a lace applique but I'm not sure how good that would look with this sweetheart neckline.
I’m already married 😂 but I just saw this dress in a NYT wedding announcement and it is just the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Does anyone know what dress it is?
I love the off the shoulder look, lace design, corset top, and a line shape of the Holden. However, I have decided I want a tea length dress and when I tried it on, I felt that the Holden was too heavy because of the many layers of fabric. Does anyone have suggestions for dresses that incorporate the elements of Holden I like but are tea length and lighter? Or would folks suggest that I get this dress and have a seamstress hem it and take out layers? I am worried that will not be possible or would change the shape of the dress too much. Thank you so much!!
Ordered it without the slit and extra fabric to line the top so it’s not see-through, can’t wait for it to come in and try it on again! 🩷
Hey yall!! I have pics on my profile but I fell in love with the Opera by Galia Lahav and it’s out of my budget. Nothing else has compared and I’ve even tried other strapless, basque waist, plunge neck lace dresses. Looking for under 8k. Any dupe recommendations or advice?
