Dupe or Advice?

Hi - Can someone help me find a similar dress to the "Summer" Milla Nova Dress please?

I'm a modest bride so the customizations alone will be unrealistic. Not sure if the overwhelming splurge is worth it despite how much I love it on. Thank you so much!

Severe wedding dress regret *after* the wedding due to cleavage

So I will start with saying that I absolutely adore my dress and still think the gown is gorgeous. What I am regretting is how much cleavage shows and I am so worried about how the professional pictures will look, based on the phone pics I have seen already. I feel like the dress is overshadowed by my cleavage, because that's where the focus is.

For context, we planned a small wedding and had our ceremony in a park. We were getting married at noon and I had a lot of DIY decor stuff to complete the night before. I worked my job until the very last day because I was saving my PTO for our honeymoon. Between DIY and work, I had pretty much not slept that whole week before the wedding. The day of, I miscalculated my time and I was running late to my own wedding. I intended to add a mesh on each side of my chest in the morning, but I had no time (I did my own hair and makeup and adding that piece to the dress was also part of my "getting ready"). I really wish I had taken 10 minutes to add that mesh to my dress, even if I was late. At the moment, I just couldn't think straight.

I am tears writing this because I know there is nothing I can do about it now. I am just so frustrated with how exposed I was.

I have been crying the past two days because I am honestly ashamed and embarrassed knowing that pretty much all of our closest friends and family, got a good look at my boobs. I feel like the dress is ruined, because all the focus goes to my overly exposed chest. My husband is a gem and he told me we can go back to the park and retake pictures (with the mesh) so I have pictures that I am happy with. Truth is, even with new pictures, I am haunted by the hundreds of pictures that the guests have, with my entire chest exposed. I am trying to focus on the positive and to remember all the nice moments (which were many). But every time I see a picture, an overwhelming feeling of regret takes over. I could be overthinking it, but I can't stop.

I guess I am writing this post to see if that helps me to move on and stop harping on something that I cannot change....thank you all in advance for reading this rant. I posted a pic to give you all an idea of what I am so obsessed about. Thanks again.

Preowned dress sites legit?

I am looking at dresses and have found several that I adore on poshmark and preownedweddingdresses.com (nearlynewlywed directs to that as well) but am very hesitant because it... technically sight unseen, and Idk... I worry that the listings are "fake" somehow.

I know poshmark is "legit" (tho theoretically they could send a false product?). I just... i'm hesitant. Esp since one of my top dresses (based on style) is listed as a sample dress ~$100, down from $2k. It just seems... very much "too good to be true". Even tho there are pictures of the actual dress with labels/tags.

Reddit isn't super helpful, search wise at least, because it doesn't seem like many people have actually purchased... at least within the past year or so.

Any thoughts/advice?

Thank you!

Seamstresses: how feasible is it to alter a size 14 dress to a size 8 body

I feel like I was mislead by bridal boutique staff which resulting in me buying a dress that is actually too big for me.

Roughly how much would an alteration of this scale cost in the UK?

Thanks

No longer have dress regret!

I ordered my dress online (I know it was very risky). It was almost perfect. I thought it just needed to be shortened, since I couldn't even walk without stepping on it, even in my heels. I forgot to take pictures of how they're going to tailor this dress, because I was in such awe. It looked like a completely different dress with it fitting me correctly. I no longer have dress regret! I really am in love with this dress!!!

Would love thoughts on this dress

I’ve posted a couple of possible dresses on other threads but welcome views on this one. It’s from a retailer with a particular reputation where I’m from and I think it’s colouring my friends’ opinions. Welcome views. It’s for a relatively relaxed wedding in November.

Recommendations for faux fur stole/wrap

Hey everyone! I am getting married in January 2025 and am looking into getting a faux fur stole/ wrap to wear for any outdoor photos as well as transporting from the ceremony to the reception. I'm not sure what kind of wrap would look good with my dress and was hoping for some style advice from others on what would look best as I've never worn anything like this before.

My dress is this ivory satin off the shoulder ballgown from David's Bridal: (https://www.davidsbridal.com/product/off-the-shoulder-satin-ball-gown-wedding-dress-wg3979?defining\_color=121&defining\_size\_family=126&defining\_size\_dress=93&defining\_extra\_length=2&gad\_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAqAEId7pFcWEsDdqcxXHSQ32IhQZq&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7Py4BhCbARIsAMMx-\_JLlFbSizQ4Q2bmq6Nn6NdidX\_0VNnnJhUyB9ul86IxD2YGf2qOricaAqzdEALw\_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)

Here are other details about what I am wearing on wedding day:

-Jewelry: I will be wearing dangly, sparkly statement earrings with a sparkly bracelet.

-Hair: I plan to have my hair curled and in a half-up half-down style with a veil; I will wear a lacy cathedral-length veil for the ceremony and switch to a shorter 30-inch veil for the reception. I also plan on wearing a flexible, floral sparkly headband (https://www.etsy.com/listing/1397510380/floral-wedding-headpiece-floral-bridal?ref=yr\_purchases). I'll either wear it the traditional way or backwards, not sure yet.

-Other style notes: I always wear glasses, so I got some new rose gold square glasses from Zenni (https://www.zennioptical.com/p/stainless-steel-rectangle-eyeglass-frames/32172/3217219)

If anyone has any links to faux fur stoles or wraps that would look good with my dress, I would appreciate it! Thank you in advance!

Rant/Need Advice! Fell in love with the Opera by Galia Lahav, but it was the first one I ever tried on (at the Galia flagship! lovely experience). Wanted to look at more just in case, but I had a negative/discouraging experience at the next bridal salon I visited. Should I keep looking?

Rant incoming!

Not sure if this is just what I should expect as a young (22) bride - any brides been in my shoes before? I went to Galia Lahav's NYC flagship to try on the Opera and I immediately fell in love. I went alone and it was a spontaneous, serendipitous appointment that landed on my 5 year anniversary with my partner! my stylist, Amy, was absolutely amazing - I truly felt like a bride and we absolutely hit it off and established a great rapport. I have nothing but good things to say, had an amazing experience, happy cried and walked out at the end to giddily call my MOH, fiancé, and some close family to tell them I may have found the one! I love fashion and wanted to try other shapes and designers, so I do have other appointments booked over the next month or so to shop around. Highly recommend their salon though, they truly gave me a lovely experience, and took the appointment seriously despite me being a 22 y/o bride. (Side note, the gown is a bit over budget but I've been looking on Still White, etc and have found several within budget that could work. Part of me is literally willing to pick up a side hustle to save if this is MY dress because it's an absolute dream! I'm planning on going back to Galia Lahav next month to try their new collection, and if I do end up choosing the Opera, I want close friends and family there when I officially say yes.)

I went to Bridal Reflections on 5th ave over the weekend for the Kim Kassas trunk show and though I didn't have the best customer service experience ever (we all have off days, I was a bartender, I get it) I'm wondering if I should keep trying new gowns because the experience was a fluke/discouraging, or if my lack of enthusiasm for the other gowns I tried was because none compare to the opera for me.

I tried the Isabelle by Kim Kassas, and some other gowns at Bridal Reflections, but I didn't really get to try most of the gowns I wanted to because despite me calling ahead and confirming, they were either out of stock, double-booked the dresses I'd asked to try for my 10am appointment and there wasn't time to try them, or my bridal stylist was unable to do up the corsets since the samples were too big on me and she couldn't figure out how to pin them (I'm 5'0 and curvy but petite overall) so I just changed into dresses that were easier for her since things were getting a bit awkward. the corseted dresses that I was able to get into were just too big in general even with pinning, so it was hard for me to gauge what it'd actually look like on me. at galia, they had clips so this wasn't an issue at all.

I was also disappointed that the stylist didn't make any effort to help style the gowns when I walked out to the red carpet/entourage area, and because I'm 5'0 it was difficult for me to do it myself with all the heavy fabric. At one point she had me walk out in a sheer dress with my underwear showing in front of everyone, and only informed me after the fact that she had nude slips that she could help me layer. I got about an hour into the 2 hour appointment and was counting down until it was over, which is not how I wanted to feel. I'm a younger bride (22) but I love fashion and was so excited to try some of my favorite designers there. I actually did try on the Opera a second time at bridal reflections, and still loved it, but because of the environment, I felt really doubtful and discouraged. One of the owners came out to pressure me into buying the gown right then and there, and was somehow simultaneously talking up the salon, talking bad about the designer, and talking down to me - all of which I found highly innappropriate, unprofessional, and skeezy. Galia would include alterations and having the gown custom-made to 30 of my measurements in the price of the gown, but Bridal Reflections said they'd take basic measurements, would not hem it to length, and that my alterations were not included. I was polite but declined, and in the end I wish I'd advocated for myself more or known what I know now. I felt like a bride at galia, but like I was just an opportunity for them to make some quick money at bridal reflections, and I'm not a diva but with the price point of these gowns, I do want to feel special at my bridal appointments.

I know this was probably just a fluke experience because I've heard great things about the salon, but now I'm doubting if I should try on more dresses in case I do end up liking something different, or if I should just go back to Galia Lahav next month. Made a post with photos from both appointments and would love your thoughts! (mirror selfies so my face is easier to obscure lol) 1-6 are from Galia, 7-11 are Bridal Reflections. post link
