I just wanted to say thank you to the Devs. Ever since I was a little boy I have been interested in airplanes. I have some very fond memories of playing Crimson Skies in my pj's on a Sunday, with the joystick my mum and dad bought me. I even have a fleet of rc planes, with a spit and finishing work on a mustang. Yes I am that guy. So when I heard of this game being in Closed Beta about 12 I signed up and was instantly in love. So over that time I come back to this game every couple months. So thank you for being my rebound game.
how do u play light, medium and heavy tanks? what tank do u spawn first on what map and how do u approach enemies
I've heard from some video I can't remember, that there are secret vehicles on the war thunder wiki, and you can only view them ingame through that method, can you help me find them?
Hi, is there any way to unlock the “left alt” key for normal use for anything, in my case for “free mouse camera look” which is under the “C” key in default. “Left alt” is for “show mouse cursor” in default and even if I remove this, it still doesn’t work for the free mouse look. Also when I press “left alt” my right mouse click “zoom” does not work.
Is there a way to unlock the “left alt” so that it works normally for a specific thing?
Team killing shold be enabled for ground and arcade battles
Radar afterburner and aircraft repairs shold be modifications
Mouse. And keyboard shold be removed
The grind isn't long enough make it 5x harder to get to top tier
Only heat and apcr should be free if you want to use any other shell you need to pay ge
Only people with a premium account should be allowed to cap points
Repairs shouldn't be allowed mid battle its unrealistic you should have to wait for the end of the battle in order to repair ur broken barrel or engine
When I speak of a tanks-only mode, I'm not advocating for the removal of the current gamemode.
After all, doing so would make most SPAA vehicles completely useless, not to mention the fact that I would be no better than the gatekeepers who say "No, a combined arms mode should be the only gamemode available, and everybody should be forced to play the gamemode I like."
Instead, what I'm really calling for is the addition of a separate tanks-only mode on top of the existing combined arms mode. I see no difference between this and there being separate "sub-modes" such as RB, AB, and SB. It gives players more options, and more options always benefit the player, and subsequently the game, does it not? The only semi-plausible argument I've heard against this is that it would increase queue times. But again, as a general rule of thumb, it is my avowed belief that giving players more options will create a net positive in player attraction and player retention in the long run.
The fact that there have been many posts made on various websites goes to show that there is at least a decent amount of players who would like to see the addition of a tanks-only mode, and while I can't speak for everybody else, planes really kill this game for me, and not having to deal with them anymore would entice me to start playing more.
Planes are absolutely abysmal in AB. It's gotten so bad to the point that you're pretty much guaranteed to die in anything without a roof, or even mediums and heavies for that matter. It's a bit better in urban maps, but god forbid you get fire arc or flanders. I've started putting the following message in chat at the start of every game: "If you use planes, you should be lined up and SHOT." because of how bad the state of AB is.
Hey guys, rn I have 32.56 GJN in my Gaijin account after selling some items that I didnt want. And Im grinding the german ground tech tree rn and I want to buy my first premium vehicle. And that is the Leopard 2a4. Im waiting for the sales, but idk if its worth it. Thanks in advance! (Note: I just finished the Swedish air tech tree)
Protecting bombers feels more rewarding (and sometimes is) then going straight for the enemy in a suicidal head on.
I’ve been flying my P-38J-15 (amazing plane btw) and got bored enough to protect bombers. I’ve got the climb and the time to actually get up there (or near) them and so many Do-335s are like “oH deFesEleSS bomber DonT miNd iF I do” just for me to swat them with my 50cals and 20mm.
Sometimes I’ll get 2-3 kills and maybe on occasion 4-5 (leave my bomber boys alone you sliver lion looters)
I have become so sick of playing the Panther:
Constant upteirs and fighting cold war tanks
Armor doesn’t really protect from anything (mantlet screws you over in all but F, many tanks you fight can just pen the UFP anyway, and don’t get me started on sides)
Speed isn’t even all that great
The size of the tank is crazy, it is beyond difficult to conceal the thing and it’s such a big target
The gun is really the only effective thing the Panther has going for it.
Maybe I am playing it wrong (yes, I am staying at distance but I often get outsniped, especially by HE slingers (2s1)) and there are games where I have outperformed myself in panzer IV that I bring for lols.
My first premium after 300+ hours in the game.
I am trying to sell it I got it out of a tool box and it sucks I just want the money is that possible???
From what I understand, there’s the base vehicles you unlock through research, a few premiums vehicles, and the vehicles you buy on the Gaijin website? Why aren’t these shown in game, when you buy them online you have access to them like any other vehicle? How are they worth 30-$60 if they aren’t straight up pay to win? I think I’m misunderstanding something
(I think it’s called projectile degradation)
Last time I played was back in 2018 when they were just starting to add copters. When I left off, I had gotten to mid tier 5 in Germany and early tier 4 in Japan, with some American and Italian premiums as well. I stopped playing because higher BR's brought with them better players and I felt like I just couldn't compete.
Lately I've been back on my plane hyperfixations and have wanted to get back into War Thunder. The problem is I barely recognize the game now with all the modern vehicles and weapons. It's a little intimidating. I'm still mostly interested in flying props and earlier jet fighters. But I've heard planes like the 262 are getting harder and harder to enjoyably use with uptiers against more modern fighters being common.
The new Swedish tree also looks promising, especially the Finnish premiums. But again, I know very little about the current state of the game.
Is the fucking 75mm just straight up ass. I’m having a hard time penning basically any other mediums even up close. To have a fair shake I have to bring out the 76.
It’s not a shot placement thing either, even on the side not angled it rarely pens. I see a panzer IV? Dead. T-34? Dead. Kv-1? Dead. Tiger? Even more dead. Fr tho even the lower BR tanks have been giving me a hard time
Do the American guns from the 76 onward perform any better.
