I just recently bought some furniture, and there was a random piece of cloth that was stapled into the couch that had nothing to do with my couch itself and it was never reupholstered. This was a brand new couch. It was tied three times and it has a brown piece of paper in the middle of it. My dog started forming at the mouth yesterday and I’ve only had these causes for two days. Today is the second day, and my dogs refused to even go downstairs.
Has anybody ever had any luck finding previous years merch? I’m desperately trying to find a 2018 poster but I’m not having any luck for that specific year.
The site is now 404. Damnit.
Heard a rumour floating around NOLA at the moment that Voodoo won’t return ever. At all.
Instead, C3 is going to take advantage of no Bayou Country Superfest, and move their country festival named “Two Step Inn” from Georgetown, Texas to the bigger and more touristy city of New Orleans, LA.
Two Step Inn has historically taken place in April, around the same time as French Quarter Fest and Jazzfest. That sounds like a logistical nightmare for everyone in the city.
There are other variations of this rumour which say the lack of tourism from people who weren’t from the Gulf South also helped to kill Voodoo. Not sure what I believe in regards to that.. I personally believe the shitty lineups in the later years after Live Nation/C3 dipped their hands into it probably had more an effect on why people chose to not spend money at that festival.
Since country music is so popular right now, it seems like the perfect money making idea that could only expand “year after year”
C3 will then try to mask no Voodoo by pointing at their shiny country fest that is thriving and growing “year after year” and say why would you want a Voodoo?
Little do they know or care that Buku has been ripped from us as well, and it’s only a matter of time before everyone on Jazzfest’s lineup is either performing in a wheelchair or dead…
Transmitting from Nola, has anyone else heard anything like this or maybe even different?
I got this poster at Voodoo in 2004. I found it attached to the back of the door of a porta potty. I’ve done a little research but can’t find anything on it. Does anyone know if there was a promotion or something going on?
Just wanted to share and bring back memories. I have several posters from over the years. I wanted to show them to people who would appreciate them. I was lucky enough to get it signed by the artist. More coming soon.
This Saturday is June 10. This is important because on both 6/10/21 & 6/10/22, the festival announced they were “taking a pause” for the year.
Perhaps we will see a better announcement this year? Likely not, but maybe! They did renew their web domain in the last year.
Well, yesterday, we hit a milestone 4,000 members on the sub! Unfortunately we've hit this milestone at a time when it appears that Voodoo might never make a comeback. While I still hold out hope that one day the fest will come back and be bigger than ever. I'm incredibly grateful for all of you on here and our combined love of this great festival! Hopefully I'll see you all again under the live oaks on a Halloween weekend!
[Heard from employee of Live Nation] Apparently Live Nation doesn’t want to work with Rehage Entertainment (VooDoo founder) because the owner is no longer a favorable person to work with. And since Rehage still has partial ownership of VooDoo the show won’t go on unless Rehage sells their shares or some other major changes happen. I didn’t get any juicy details but I assume it’s about money. Whatever the reasons are, I just hope they can settle it and we can have our fest back🤞🫠
In 2019, VooDoo had their blind sale dates starting on December 12. 🤞 for some news soon. Would love to see this come back.
Voodoo was my first festival. I think of it so fondly all the time. I think my favorite experiences were watching a group of guys dressed as skeletons do coke off the cap of a pen and the spider webs while tripping. And then of course the year I got to the front for Mumford and Sons. I miss voodoo and hope it comes back next year. I’m taking American Sign Language classes so my dream is to interpret for artists at festivals like voodoo and buku. What are your favorite voodoo memories?
By this time they’ve released the lineup and made some announcements. I wish they would at least tell us something.
Just missing it,
Prayers for Flume! Or My Chemical Romance. Or Mac n Cheese.
I am looking for one of those woven blankets they sold as merch for the fest. I am willing to pay a decent chunk of change for one. Any suggestions where to look?
So my gf and I went to the Voodoo music and arts festival in 2018 and had an amazing experience! On of those experiences was the fact that we found an amazing fragrance from a vendor that was there that weekend. I have since lived this fragrance as it reminds me of one of my favorite memories. Sadly, I fear I will run out of it soon and wish to look for this vendor to purchase more! If you can help me find this vendor it would be amazing! Thank you all!
I messaged winter circle productions, 92.3 the radio station, and river beats and no reply.
In 2019 they didn’t get any social media going till mid to late May, so it’s still possible.
I sent an email to the main contact for the festival, that literally asks “is voodoo happening?” And I haven’t heard back.
Whoever within LiveNation books Voodoo, I want you to know that I have beef with you. I have beef with the way you ignore local artists. I have beef with the way you solve problems. I have a huge amount of beef with the way you promote this festival, and the fact that you have let it go by the wayside. I am mentally prepared for disappointment. The lack of community engagement is appalling. I hope that you take care of my favorite weekend this year, because ever since LiveNation bought it, the charm and allure of this festival has been slowed to a crawl.
But I would also like to add that in the event that Voodoo isn’t going to happen, and you already know it, I think it is fair to tell the public sooner rather than later, so that we can make other arrangements this fall.
I love that this sub has been so dead that the only post are people who are seeking Voodoo and hoodoo advice. 2022 save us
If you get decapitated will you voodoo doll lose its head?
