    Uniform Identification

I found this photo of my family member, and I'm looking to see what branch and rank he is. Notice how the fabric in between the collar and the tab itself is not the standard color. I was always told he was in the Schutzstaffel, so with this knowledge, I'm led to believe he belongs to the 4th SS-Polizei-Panzergrenadier-Division as they are the only SS division with Heer style collar tabs. Please let me know what you think.

Aiguillette and Shoulder chords DDR. I am interested in the uniform of the DDR and noticed that there are only three types of shoulder chords/aiguillettes. One with a single strand, the second with three braided strands and the third is the same but gold. Who was given which chord/aiguillette?

A woman wears a Turkish officer's uniform, 1920s. I think it was probably her husband's uniform because there were no female personnel in the Turkish Army at that time.

Canada: Prototype for the new Canadian Army Service dress, showcased 8-10 March 2024, Ottawa

As the Canadian Armed Forces continues to undue the ceremonial/uniform disaster of amalgamation, this new service dress is a reflection of a return to traditional Canadian army/militia uniforms. The colours used are the same colours found on Canadian service dress uniforms in the 1920s and most of the 1930s. The decision was made not to go with the WW2 Canadian army service dress, as at the outbreak of the war, the actual Canadian pattern of service dress was abandoned and the British pattern was adopted.

How would the Star Trek “Monster Maroon” uniform work as an actual uniform worn by a real-life military?

The uniform features a turtleneck shirt colored according to branch of service. The coat is double breasted and can partially open like so https://www.time-to-collect.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/kirkmaroon001.png The color of the shoulder strap indicates branch of service and matches the turtleneck. Rank is indicated by a pin on the shoulder strap, and an identical pin on the opposite lower arm. Other division colors included white, mint green, and grey-blue. The pants feature a stripe which matches the division color, except in the case of white, in which case the pant stripe is red.

Remember to evaluate the uniform as if it were a real uniform worn by real-world military units!
