Hey everyone. 17 m here.
For a bit of context, I am not at all ukrainian, I am a french-american dual national citizen, living in France. Since the age of 14, in 2022, and the start of the full scale war in Ukraine. Under my initiative, my father and I have been going to Ukraine every year to bring donations (clothes, food, medical supplies..etc) to those in need. Over the years, we have been getting closer and closer to the frontline. Last time, a few months ago, we were in the south of Ukraine, merely 20km (12 miles) to the frontline. So it's a dangerous work we do, and the risk of getting bombed is quite real and I can feel it. But it's my thing, I love the work I'm able to do, helping people that really need it, and meeting incredible genuine people. Truly an amazing experience, and I'm really grateful to be doing this at such a young age (started at 14, now 17).
I've made a 30min documentary of my April 2023 humanitarian trip. This one was in Bucha, Irpin and Borodyanka. Cities that suffered huge devastation, russian occupation, massacres, and countless war crimes. We were bringing aid to 81 orphans (ages 1 - 17) from Bucha. I will probably make another documentary about my more recent trips, closer to the frontline.
My whole entourage really loved the documentary, it was even shown in my small town in France. Problem is, I really want to do something with it, because I'm sure it has potential and the message could be heard, but I really don't know where to look, or who to contact to make that even possible.. That's the advice I'm looking for!
I will be returning to Ukraine next year, again, to keep helping those in need. Slava Ukraini ! 🇺🇦
Thank you so much, Reddit UA community!
And no, it's not a victory. It's was a war to destroy russian army and to liberate occupied territories. The threat of russian capturjng Kyiv was gone in April 2022.
When our country will be forced to freeze this conflict again, leaving hundreds of thousands Ukrainians under russian occupation, with regions in ruins, countless of cities and villages already destroyed and countless more will be destoyed, because US can't be bothered to provide any meaningful amount of military equipment, US will declare it to be victory, because "there will be strong independent Ukraine" and US doesn't give a shit how many will die. And it all suddenly makes sense. After that US will cut military aid to Ukraine even more and let russia prepare for new in invasion and will do nothing to stop it. Like it did in 2014 and 2022.
I believe US wanted to help in 2022 and wanted to help with counteroffensive but they dragged their feet on any type of equipment for too long to deliver too little, that counteroffensive failed and from there the situation for our country counties to from bad to worse.
It shouldn't been like that, the war could have been over by now.
Why? Look how much % of GDP major Ukrainian allies commit to arming Ukraine and how much money goes to help Ukraine annually. Spoiler: it's almost nothing. It's like 0,1% at best countries like Germany and Great Britain. France that promised to allocate 3bln on military aid which is 0,13% of GDP on fighting new fascist genocidal invasion for 2024 cut it to 2bln. The same 2bln that France spend on military aid to Ukraine in two years prior. Which means 1bln per year from a superpower like France.
US that planned military aid to Ukraine in Presidential Draw Down Authority for 2024-2025 is slightly below 8bln (that aid that acually arrives to Ukraine) and then you look at Mordor that plans to spend for next year alone 140bln on the war.
