Hello guys I’m graduating highschool with an associates of science degree from a community college in north texas. Does UT take these credit? They all move over but is there a way to see if i would be able to use them for my degree (public health)?
Currently a senior finance major. Always had a personal interest in Japan and have the opportunity to study abroad senior spring. However, doing so would delay my graduation by a mimimim of one semester, so the earliest I could graduate is december 2025, possibly even may 2026 if I can’t find a job that starts then. I'm still looking for a job. Additionally, because the schedule of Japanese universities is different from American ones, even if I were to go to Japan, I wouldn’t be able to do an internship this summer as the spring semester in Japan is april-july, and summer internships are very important and typically lead to a full time offer.
thankfully i can afford the study abroad and that it's not an issue as far as this case goes. as for the job, it won't be extremely difficult to find one, but i'm not sure how good of an offer i can get a year later with the current business/finance/tech job market. this study abroad would be purely based on personal interest, i don't need the credits for any classes at the host university.
Should I go? I’d appreciate any advice yall could give, thanks so much.
Hi guys! I’m a part of Recreation, which is a committee in Campus Events and Entertainment. We’re hosting Miyazaki Festival (along with AAC and Headliners- other committees) to honor the works of Hayao Miyazaki and the Studio Ghibli Films. We’ll have free food and drinks, activities, prizes to give out and live orchestral performances featuring the scores of the films. We hope to see you there!
Title.
Out of curiosity did anyone else that had jendys on Thursday noonish have food poisoning starting from Saturday night to now? Both my roommates and I got food poisoning symptoms at the exact same time and we all ate jendys on Thursday. Need to know for scientific purposes💀
Hi, I live at 21 Rio and am looking for a part-time job. The only available positions at UT were in the dining halls, so I'm trying to find other jobs near where I live. I really wanted to work at PCL or other UT libraries but they don't accept new worker now:( I've heard that Target treats its workers poorly, so I don’t want to work there. Since I’m introverted I wanna avoid jobs like a receptionist.
Currently in CH 220C and our first real lab is this week. I'm absolutely terrified, this prelab is hours long and apparently everyone fails the quizzes horribly. My TA barely speaks English so the communication is already off. Is it even possible to make an A? What are some things I can do to prepare for the lab beforehand? I just need some advice and reassurance right now.
Hello,
I am under the Texas Advanced Commitment. So I am supposed to get free tuition. But it suddenly says I have to owe money due to financial aid adjustment? What does this mean? Wouldn't this mean they are breaking their promise if I pay this? I am planning to go to One Stop tomorrow but I just want to ask if anyone has a similar situation going on. Why didn't it tell me through email or something that it I was on hold until I had to check my schedule through a portal and it had a random notification.
I live in an independent house on the north campus and am a graduate student. For multiple reasons, I would like to move after my lease ends to the west campus. From what I am seeing online, either the reviews for the apartment buildings are horrendous, or the rent is extremely high. I understand that I would need to adjust to certain bad things since all west campus apartments have something wrong or the other, but the reviews make it seem absolutely uninhabitable. Are there any decent-ish and safe apartment communities in the west campus that are within a $1300 budget for a private room?
Any tips on where to study for the lab quizzes? Im studying the safety page, quest, and notes from lecture but not sure if there’s anything else I need to know? How much in depth do we need to study for the MSDS sheets? Thanks

Hi everyone! I am a prospective student applying to the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at UT and I am currently looking to purchase a new laptop. The program's computer requirements list 16GB of RAM as the minimum, with 32GB recommended. Currently theres a sale on an ASUS Zephyrus G14 with 16GB of RAM and I am wondering if 16GB would suffice for the next 5 years. Could current ECE students please share their experiences regarding RAM usage for various programs and workloads? Furthermore, I would appreciate any insights you might offer on the UT ECE program itself. Thank you very much for responding!
Im a reporter for Reporting Texas, and I’m writing a story about the student governments’ printing initiative. This would allow for $2 to be allotted into each student’s BevoBucks account for printing on campus. UT is one of the only universities that does not give students money to print. If anyone wants to share their experience trying to print on campus, please share below! (I will ask you for permission before I include your experiences in my story, I’m also just trying to gather a consensus!) Thanks!!
Does UT document solutions ship packages and work as USPS?
Idk which one to pick. Reddit is saying their all shit
I'm currently looking into traditional IB role for the future, however, I would prefer to have occupational freedom (when I fail recruiting or wish for more chill career). I have two options: major in finance coupled with certificates or minors like SDS (you can't double major SDS) or major in business analytics (finish in 3 years) coupled with Masters in finance (10month program) since MS in finance is only offered to non finance majors. I wish to have ability to do data science related skill performance, so, again, I have more freedom.
Just wondering what y'all's thoughts are on this and how it can affect our reputation
Joshua Church is a part of The Network, a cult run by Steve Morgan, who is also the lead pastor at Joshua Church. Morgan SAed a child in his youth group, was caught, and then started over as a pastor in a nondenominational church. He later broke away and started his own network of churches which are known for manipulation, control, and spiritual abuse.
Joshua Church recruits regularly on the UT campus. I joined this cult after graduating from a different college and moved to Austin to help “plant” Joshua Church (I have since got out and moved back home). I was part of this cult for a decade and both experienced and witnessed the control, manipulation, and harm done by leaders in this cult. I don’t recommend it.
The video linked was made by a former cult member who has now gotten out. He talks about why people join cults, the harm that is done to people who join, why it’s so hard to leave when you get sucked in, and what you can do if you have friends or family who get sucked in. The person in this video was part of a different branch of this cult, but I can confirm that the content applies to Joshua Church. Skyler worked directly under Steve Morgan for years and can speak directly to these issues.
If you have been approached by cult members from Joshua Church (they often have granola bars with invite cards attached), are curious about cults, or have friends or family who have gotten sucked in, this is a great video to watch to understand this particular cult.
[Staff members] (https://www.joshua-church.com/our-story-1 ) from this cult recruit on campus frequently. Stay safe out there.
okay so i transferred here about a year and a half ago with some close friends of mine and we're all roomies. i thought moving away from home would be fine because like i said, i came with best-friends but they've made their own friends now and rarely hang with me. i don't know how to be social during class because i feel like there's no time for it. idk what to do. im really really sad. if im not at the gym, i just drink at home in my room. i miss my family and im really starting to regret moving away.
I transferred to UT this spring and within the three weeks I’ve been here… I’ve never felt so lonely and defeated. I applied to an org where I immediately hit it off with the people only to get rejected after the second round :( It’s hard not to take personally since I poured my heart out into my application and really made an effort.
I guess I just need a place to vent since UT has been my dream school for years, and after finally transferring here it’s been so hard to find my place. I’m already dealing with a lot of academic stress & imposter syndrome and the loneliness just makes it worse. I’ve made a bunch of “acquaintances” here and there but everyone seems to have already made their friend groups.
Does anyone know any non competitive clubs I can join to make friends or have any advice in general? 🥲
Can someone portray their CS UG experience covering research opportunities, intern opportunities, industry engagement, job opportunities, professors, GPA, dos and don'ts.
Hi! I am a high school senior admitted to the Nursing program at UT! I was just hoping to get some insight from current students in the nursing program as I’ve truly been very nervous about nursing school. I just wanted to ask questions regarding things such as dosage exams and clinicals. Are we allowed to fail any dosage exams or is strictly 100% pass rates? What time do clinicals usually start? What is the policy on missing a clincal and stuff like that. Do you have any tips that I NEED to know before my first year? Thank you so much in advance :’))
I filled out this form and I can't find this email to sign into
I’m getting an iPad to take notes and found two on FB marketplace both for the same price of $475 including Apple pro pencil. Both iPads are exactly the same size except one is older with more storage and one is newer with less storage. I don’t know much about iPads so which one is the best offer?
