Hey all! Im graduating Highschool in May and considering applying to UH Mānoa. Only problem for me would be the out of state tuition, so I was wondering if anyone has/knows someone who’s had experience with Financial Aid, and how it affects out of state students. Thanks!
The title said. Considering apply for PhD at UHM COE as international student from Thailand. Heard of scholarship from East West center. Is anyone has applying applying this?
Hi, I will be attending uh Manoa as an exchange student next semester!
Is there any fun class I can take? I really wanted to take a surfing class but turns out that one's only for the fall semester so I'm looking for some fun class or classes that are related to Hawaii...
$1,050 a month for a room in a 4 bedroom house in the Manoa neighborhood, there are currently 3 rooms occupied, (one by my girlfriend and I,) so currently 4 roommates total. Comes with your own bathroom and entrance / exit, roommates are quiet and one is only here 3/4 days a week. Reply to this post or dm me if interested :)
Anyone choose the ECE Biomedical track at UH and have any thoughts or advice for going this route?
Does anyone have tips for parking at Stan Sheriff for a volleyball game? Which entry gate is best, which parking area is best for a quick exit. The last time I went, it took FOREVER to get out of the parking sturcutre.

Hello everyone! I was just curious if there were any language exchanges or Japanese clubs held on campus. I want to practice speaking Japanese as well as meet new people since I’ll be transferring next school year. Any suggestions help, thank you.
In star there is “Linear alg and diff eq” and “intro to linear algebra”. Is there a huge difference between the two or is one preferred over the other?
I know this is kinda borderline gonna break the rules, but by chance, are there any clubs and things on campus that explore sexuality and the like? I know other campuses have these kinds of clubs, but I wasn’t sure about here.
I ask cause I saw there was a new Reddit community for meet ups near Mānoa, but I was wondering if there were any opportunities on campus where students talk about or explore this kind of stuff.
I'm currently a high school senior looking at colleges. I want to major in Marine biology. Can anyone give me some information about that major? Would this university be good for marine bio or do you have other recommendations?
Thank you!! 🙏
I want a custom fitted mouth guard for muay thai since my current one is really hard to speak and breathe in and almost makes me gag. I'm wondering if I could get one done at school for cheap by any dental students looking for extra practice.
Hi everyone— I was wondering if anyone has taken a class w/ Prof. Jolene Wu Correa? Looked on RMP, but she doesn’t have any ratings there, so I figured I’d ask the community here. I’m just curious as to how she is as a professor and how the course is (workload wise, flexibility, etc). Thank you in advance!
I noticed that the career center only shows the numbers of on-campus jobs occupied by students. If we’re strictly following that and guesstimating the off-campus, it means only about ~7-10% of enrolled students also have a job. Does anyone know where to find more statistics on this, or have a better approximation? I’m trying to make a point of providing accommodations and just generally more awareness of working students. Thanks!
We already have 3 members can need a total of 6 to become an official RSO! We will apply before the semester ends and hopefully be established by next semester. We’re thinking of meeting at least once a month and people would bring their own books. We’re also thinking of maybe doing monthly themes, so people don’t have to read the same book if they don’t want to. Please PM if you’re interested!! 📚
Or will I have better luck on FB Marketplace?
Currently applying to UH—seems like the only option I want, then I plan to go mainland for med school. How good are the opportunities to help me get to med school? Is there a pre-med path, MCAT help, etc.? Does anyone have stats on the acceptance rate or pipeline of manoa students to medical schools (not just JABSOM)

What do I need on my high school diploma to be the most prepared for urban planning?
Hi everyone, I need some suggestions. So I'm a Bio major who wants to go to medical school, meaning that I unfortunately have to take OChem I and II. Chemistry has never been a good subject for me, but it's really important that I do good in OChem. I feel like if I take OChem during the fall/spring semesters, I'll do badly since I have to balance OChem (and its lab) with the other classes. That's why I've been thinking about taking it during the summer so that I only have to focus on OChem. I was thinking Ochem I and it's lab during summer session I and Ochem II with lab during summer session II. I met with my pre-med advisor and my academic advisor and they agree with my plan. So I just wanted to ask people who have done this what their experience was like. Did you take the classes here or at a community college? The last thing I need is an incompatible professor teaching this very important class, so any professor recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!
Hello! I applied September 16th for the fall semester of 2025 to major in education, and I’m nervous about my application. I’ve had a pretty consistent GPA of 3.2-3.5 and got Dean’s list my first semester at CC then got President’s list up until now. I have two letter of recommendations and wrote my personal statement. I’m nervous about my application because UH- Manoa is like my dream school. So this is more directed at transfer students, What was your experience like waiting for the results of your application? Am I worrying more than I should be? Thank you!
I’m 5ft tall and I bought my graduation gown today (4’11” - 5’). But I feel like it’s too short. :/ does everyone else’s gown look this length? Should I get a bigger size? Any help would be appreciated! Mahalo!

Are there any clubs on campus about learning how to use AI, prompt engineering, etc.?
Live near UH Mānoa and don’t have a car so tend to get my groceries from places that are walking distance. However all my options seem to be expensive. Does anyone have a preference between Down to Earth, Foodland, or Nijiya market? Or maybe some recommendations? I don’t like to order produce from delivery apps because I like to check the quality in person. Mahalo!
