Rules
No harassing, name-calling, targeting, etc. Simply put, be nice.
While posts can be made related to vampire tv shows, books, and movies, please make the posts about actual vampire-lore or to do specifically with the vampire aspect of the show/movie/book. For example, this is not a subreddit to discuss the plot lines/who's your favorite character/relationship drama/etc. of a specific show. General questions about favorite characters and such may be asked.
Please attempt to use proper grammar/spelling.
If a post is NSFW, please mark it as so. Failing to do this will result in removal of post.
Flair can be edited. Inappropriate flair will result in a request for removal. If flair is not removed, it may result in banning.
Ultimately, as moderator, I will make decisions based on these rules and you may message me about any disagreements. Repeated offenses may result in banning. These rules are subject to change. If you see any violation of these rules, please report it/let me know.
Also, while not necessary, the following markers would be useful if added to your titles:
[Question] - Any questions on the subject that would not be considered conversation starters. i.e. "Where did the vampire myth originate?" would get this marker, but "Which historical "vampire" is your favorite?" would not.
[Book] - If you are recommending a book (not discussing one)
[Movie] - If you are recommending a movie (not discussing one)

This is my first reddit post, sorry if I do anything wrong with how I post this! So, I roleplay in my spare time, and I'm currently making characters for a monster school. There are a few vampires that I'm adding, and I just want to know if it's possible to have them be able to speak without a lisp? If they're born as vampires, would they instinctively know how to speak with the fangs since they're used to it? Or would they have to take speech classes when they're young?
To mirror another question on taste. Jokes welcomed π§π½ββοΈ

Anyone have any recommendations for vampires in the present written as a mystery novel? Thanks! :)
This subreddit has been popping up on my feed because Reddit is tracking my internet activity when I research vampire folklore, so I figure I may as well make use of it.
I'm looking for writers for a mod that adds vampires to Crusader Kings 3, a historical medieval royalty life sim disguised as a strategy game. As a writer, you would be coming up with "events," which are essentially pop ups that present players with 1-2 paragraphs of first person prose describing an interesting scenario in the player's life and 2-3 choices for roleplaying.
If being a writer and idea person for an alt-history vampire roleplaying game interests you, please comment and I will DM you the Discord link where we could discuss more.
Iβm looking for vampire smut recs please :) What are your favourites? No glittery vampire fan fiction or anything like that. I need nasty, going down on a human during her menstrual cycle type of reads π€β€οΈπ
Bram Stoker? Anne Rice? Vampire the Masquerade? Who do you think writes the best Vampires?
I don't remember the exact quote, but here is the scene. Dracula is getting ready to kill a Priest. The Priest holds up a cross and Dracula grabs the cross and crushes it. Then looking at the priest he says, "You have to believe in it in order for it to work." Then proceeds to kill the Priest. It's and old movie, most likely from the 50's or 60's. I saw it as a kid and that line has stuck with me ever since. Now I want to find the movie.
