I see the PCGamingWiki page for the game says you run into these problems if you uncap the framerate:
- Enemy attacks that drain health (i.e. strangling attacks) do so significantly faster at higher frame rates.
- Enemy attack speed appears to be much higher at higher frame rates.
If anyone has played the game uncapped can you comment on how drastic these are? If enemies are so fast it becomes too difficult or if the health drain attacks are also too difficult to deal with? Any other issues also? Thanks
I got the game on steam but when I try to play I get the "no signal" message. I play on a TV screen.
Is there any fix
Edit : I'm forced to power off then on my PC to do anything
Edit 2 : fix it. For some weird reason if I alt+tab it work again
Chapter 6 was probably where I died the most. Never looking back on this mode again. I will probably go back to do the DLCs at some point.
Be careful Ruvik, someone is in your walls.
About to finally play The Evil Within after having it sit in my library for so many years. My only question now is, what difficulty do I play on? I was reading the manual just now and I noticed it says there's a casual mode and a survival mode. Casual is recommended for first time survival horror fans, which I definitely am not. I've already played a few survival horror games (re2,re4,re5,re7, and a few others). I see the survival mode is intended for experienced survival horror fans which I may be considered. My only question is, will survival mode make the game brutally hard to the point where I wont be able to enjoy my first ever playthrough? I doubt it, but just wanted to see everyone's thoughts.
So I just got the evil within and the evil within 2 yesterday and I was going to play it today. Every time I open it though this happens, I already checked file integrity to see if that fixed it and it didn’t. Any tips?
Never finished evil within 1 so I wanted to purchase it on the store but it's not there. Why have they removed it? Can you not play the first game on psn anymore?
Almost ten years of ownership and I’ve done it! I almost finished it years ago but lost my save when I was up to the part with the big wolf. I only revisited the game after working my way through the gaming backlog in recent years.
All in all, I enjoyed the game and I’m glad I came back for another go. But I’m glad to be done.
I am doing the Stefano fight, phase 2, and bullets are not spawning, closed and opened the game again to no avail, still no spawns,
I am veritably softlocked to not complete this fight, I just don't have the resources for it, is this a known bug? is there a way to solve it?
Thank you so much!
Hey folks,
I’ve heard the second game is supposed to be really good. I’ve picked it up and noticed I have the first game in my library from years ago, so I’ll start there on a normal run. I would love to hear any tips or advice for the first game you guys have.
Many thanks
Where are my shots going? Certainly not where I am aiming. Is there a reason why? Even reducing sway doesn't seem to help; my bullets seemingly dissipate mid-shot.
Also, the aiming itself is so robotic. I feel like I am only able to aim side-to-side and up and down. How is it that a game that came out nearly ten years prior to this, Resident Evil 4, feels ages ahead?
Ugh, I guess I'm just venting. It feels like every time I get into it something goes disaterously wrong and it isn't even my fault. I've restarted The Evil Within a few times now. It's starting to test my patience.
Every day I drive by this place I laugh.
I just downloaded the evil within and already there is a major problem that makes the game unplayable. There is a loud static noise drowning out all the other audio. Restarting doesn't help. Verifying game files doesn't help.
is there any new about the third game? i didn't see anything after the tango bought by the Krafton Inc...
Does anyone know if its possible to show the names of the enititys/models your looking at in game? like with a console command or something. Ive tried some but don't really know what it would be if there was a command for it.
I know there is a list model option. but that is in the console, Im more looking for a boundingbox type view. in game
I've wanted to attempt this run for the longest time, the thought of it was a bit intimidating if I'm honest.
If you're wanting to complete akumu difficulty yourself I highly recommend checking out Optinoob on Youtube, his guide made it as painless as possible. One of the harder parts of the game is disarming the damn traps!
Anyways, wanted to share my achievement and give Optinoob a shoutout for his hard work.
If you're currently attempting this or plan to, good luck!
Title, but something I’ve always wondered is what weapons benefit from maxing the damage the most.
Most people say to get pistol crit to 50%(that’s normally what I do or atleast 20-30%) and harpoon damage up which I agree with. Do they actually change every weapon much or is it only a select few(I normally pump sniper damage and mixed crit/dmg for shotgun).
I've been spending all month getting spooky games off my back log in honor of Halloween and I finally made it to the evil within and fell in love with the dark atmosphere of the game. Only problem is, this shit is hard lol. I've been legitimately struggling to get through the first 4 chapters and I'm starting to wonder if I'm playing it wrong lol. Or is this game just like the dark souls of the horror world? Either way, I'm playing it to completion... I'm just wondering if this is normal I guess lol. I have a buttload of experience with the horror genre of games but this one is giving me some trouble. Wondering if it's the stealth aspect? Seems to be a primary mechanic of this game and I've never beaten any assassin's creed or anything. I need tips or tricks are greatly appreciated.Thank you anyone that took the time to read this
For me personally, there is no need to bring Sebastian back... he already got his happy ending in tew2
It's been 6 years ago since I first beat The Evil Within 2 and I still don't think a game has hit me so hard in the feels since The Last of Us or Final Fantasy 15. Jesus Christ, Tango, You made one HELL of a game....😭😭😭😭
I am just now playing The Evil Within 2 for the very first time and first off let me just say that I freaking love this game! It's so great! Anyways....Onward to the point of my post.

I just got to the part where Sykes gets into the pod and makes an attempt to escape from STEM into the real world. I went inside the room where the pod is and after collecting a few items I noticed a computer screen on the wall. I clicked it and it began to play an audio message of a woman speaking about the "chance of success" for the pods and that the probability of it actually working is only 25%. The message went on to say that only 1 in 4 people have actually made it out of STEM using the pod and that the other 3 people, the 75%, got lost in an "uncharted sublevel of STEM" for an eternity, I presume, since there is apparently "no known way of return" for these people. That's a horribly scary thought that made me quite uneasy in my stomach. Sykes was so excited about finally finding his way out and escaping STEM and now there's a chance that he could be wandering around in darkness for all eternity. I have not finished the game so I do not know if they speak more about his escape or not but I am afraid that he may be lost forever. He was one of the good ones too..... :/
