Definitely one of the hardest challenges in any horror game
It would be so badass to play sebastian with a chainsaw
I dont know if anybody has said this before but I recently played through both games and specifically have been doing multiple playthroughs of the 2nd game, and noticed that the photo on Sebastians desk on the difficulty select screen tells you who Sebastian makes it out of Stem with, Seb and Lily are lit up by the light but for some reason Myra isnt, and I was just thinking like what if that wss foreshadowing from the very beginning since Myra is the one that stays behind at the end Again if somebody has already said this mb but just something interesting I noticed
I try to play the first game on PC with Gamepass, but it starts on the wrong screen and crashes my PC, any idea for a fix?
So just platinum TEW2 and here is my take on it. It has similar progress as the first game with the first half being scary and tense then in the second its action hero time.
I played this game 6 to 7 times with the first being casual then nightmare, then classic to unlock everything.
Tips.
9.Shots gun is good for knock downs sorta but not that great for killing. 10. Half the time I forgot I had a sniper until the final boss 11. AR pretty good and bullets are cheap 12. Special enemies need 2 stealth hits to kill 13. Exploring makes the game easier 14. Look up a guide for keys and pouches 15. Red gel and high grade parts are hard to miss if you just look 16. Max revolver pistol plus bullet cascade chew through enemies so I would highly recommend 17. None of the main game bosses have a specific way they have to beat exempt laura who only does from thr inferno or flamethrower I think. I shot her with flame harpoon and it didn't really kill her.
Overall fun game got super easy on the final playthrough with infinite ammo and stamina with bullet time. Story overall has some issues and but it's more fleshed out than the first game and has better villian with steffano. Hope for the evil within 3 with kidman and Joseph
For example 1 minute he is in beacon next minute he is in the saferoom where the lady is?
He makes human like sounds, but I'm not sure if he is human or not.
I tried to do no upgrade as well, but give up at chapter 4
I just beat the evil within 2 and in my play through I did all side quests and I was wondering if I’ll get a different ending if I just ignore the möbius members ?
I just got the game for 8 aud and saw a code in the case and tried redeeming it and it worked then I tried checking the Microsoft store then realized that its a preorder bonus that the person who owned this last got with the game but never used
I was wondering why I allow myself to use some glitches/bugs in TEW but not others e.g. why do I allow myself to cause a gas fire by firing a long metal bolt into the safety valve of a gas pipe (is that really a glitch!?), or block haunted on a bridge with my body, but not use zipping to bypass sections.
Well, my first thought was because I could explain the former as bugs/instability in STEM rather than the game code. Then I realised that the glitches I don't use could as well, as STEM is going to be full of bugs - it's complex tech and its connected to a psychotic control mind. I could suggest (at a stretch) that the TEW developers released an almost bugless game, and intended the STEM glitches to be found and used. I prompted chatgpt to give a better explanation, and pasted further down.
I have come to the conclusion I avoid some glitches simply because they remove some of the enjoyment of the game for me. And now I also feel less guilty about using the ones I do 😁
From chatgpt:
Ah, you're referring to gameplay glitches, like zipping, launching, or other unintended behaviors players exploit to manipulate game mechanics. While these are primarily caused by oversights in programming, they can be narratively justified within The Evil Within as being related to STEM's unstable nature. Here's how:
Incorporating glitches into STEM’s narrative reinforces the idea that this is a simulated world on the brink of collapse. These glitches could serve as:
Players often exploit glitches to achieve unintended results (e.g., speedrunning). In the context of The Evil Within, this aligns with Sebastian’s desperate fight to escape STEM, even if it means bending or outright breaking the simulation's rules.
While gameplay glitches like launching and zipping are unintentional programming quirks, they can easily be framed within the game’s narrative as symptoms of STEM’s instability, Ruvik’s fragmented psyche, or Sebastian’s resistance to the system. This perspective makes the glitches feel like part of the world rather than mere technical errors.
I can imagine Alessa being kidnapped by Mobius around the time Ruvik had become a ghost within the system. To Mobius she would be just another girl from a remote village whose disappearance wouldn't make much noise.
Obviously, The Order would not stand idly by, but let's take it for granted that Mobius is too powerful an organization and they can do it.
Ruvik wouldn't pay too much attention to her until Alessa unleashed her powers within Stem, being able to alter Stem's environment to a level comparable or greater than Ruvik's.
To balance things out a bit, I'd go with the idea that the powers are Alessa's from birth, but are amplified and instrumentalized when she's in the city.
Ruvik would be impressed with that potential and would see Alessa as the ultimate mind to be consumed. In the DLC letter, Ruvik mentions that the lines between reality and his world are about to break down. If he were to get Alessa's power to warp reality + his own power, his power over reality would be that of a god.
And wouldn't Alessa resist in some way? If others withstood Ruvik's influence, why not her?
If Alessa becomes conscious, the will-receiving quality in Stem will partially replace Silent Hill, and Alessa will probably simply escape or lock Ruvik in a hybrid nightmare, a product of both minds.
What do you think?
I think about this a lot. Tatiana in the second game is actually quite a different character. She has more personality, she is nicer, and she is really supportive. Meanwhile, in The Evil Within, she is a helping character but is actually kind of cold and without much personality.
I believe that in the first game, Tatiana is an agent of MOBIUS who is in control of the "safe place" in STEM and is helping Sebastian because of MOBIUS's goals. However, in The Evil Within 2, she becomes, as she said herself, a manifestation of Sebastian's inner strength and her own entity
After completing 100% on the main game i‘m playing the Executioner DLC. To be honest i‘m not sure what to think about it. I really like the idea of the dlc, it gives you some nice relief to take out your anger on the haunted after torturing yourself through Akumu. I also like the idea of the first person view, but imho the implementation is kinda horrific. I‘m playing on Xbox, so i have to use a controller. The whole movement of your character feels very clunky and imprecise. Turning yourself around takes like 3 seconds when playing with a controller. The limited vow also adds to the problem. That makes especially the hidden final execution chamber really frustrating. Also the „no damage“ achivement does not benefit from the difficult controlls.
So my conclusion of the Executioner DLC is playing it once is fun and gives you some nice variety. But trying to 100% it is really testing your nerves. But maybe that are all just problems when playing on console / controller?
I would love to hear your thoughts on the DLC.
Hi guys, I'm having a problem with the game, I bought it from the PS Store and downloaded it fine until I opened the game as soon as I started, when I press the options key it stops and also if I want to continue the story without touching the button when I get to the part in which I have to take some keys to open a door and run away from the sadist when I take the keys it stays paused I have been trying everything from closing the game to reinstalling it and I have tried the previous two things many times but none of them work for me I have tried I contacted Bethesda but they did not answer me. If any of you could help me, I would be very grateful, thank you.
So In chapter 3 we see him chained up in the barnyard why is that?
that they are Mobius agents with that chip built into their heads. Even if they did make it, Myra and Kidman would have had to kill them anyways. Poor guys :( at least Sykes might have a chance to make it
I love the setting, the water beasts and the shifting city. But I absolutely hate that part where you have to defend yourself against enemies while you're in the lift, you have to depend on the Agony Crossbow's flash bolts, shock bolts and freeze bolts because there's no way you're going to kill all of the enemies. I don't even wanna think about how hard this part is in Akumu mode....
Are fully upgraded harpoon bolts worth it in an Akumu playthrough?
Do they work well against bosses besides Laura?
