From the protests in Suwayda yesterday, where Syrians have been protesting in the city for 9 consecutive months against the Assad regime and its allies, demanding the overthrow of the Assad regime, and the demanding of a secular democratic state that guarantees the rights and freedoms of all Syrians

What if Bassel never died and succeeded Hafez?

Was on a discord call with some Americans who asked me this question and it got me thinking

Would Syria today be better or worse? How would Bassel have dealt with the Arab spring?

What if the 1970 correctional movement didn't happen and Syria stayed a Secular Democracy?

I really wonder, how would Syria look like if it stayed democratic and secular, would Syria have been developed like Portugal or Poland? Or it wouldn't have been so different than now?

POS systems in Syria

Does anyone here have any experience with POS Systems in Syria? I know that almost everyone uses Al-Ameen but I don’t like it and it’s outdated. I was wondering if anyone knew of other systems that provide Metrics, collects sales data and could generate a report? Could I purchase a POS system from the US and bring it with me to Syria? Will it work?

Stop having so many kids when it doesn’t make sense

I don’t understand why so many people are having 4+ kids in horrible circumstances. This is straight out wrong when you know you can’t afford it, and also when you know you won’t take care of them. This goes for both people living in Syria and outside of Syria. It makes no sense to have children when you are poor and it makes no sense to have kids in a culture and society you aren’t integrated well enough in. What will happen in the end is 1. you being disappointed that they aren’t how you expect them to be when they grow up i.e traditional 2. you will be putting unnecessary pressure on them because you are stuck to the old times of raising children which they will not appreciate and 3. you won’t take care of them properly because you don’t know how to do that in a western country. Parents aren’t even doing their jobs anymore it’s just the older sibling parenting the younger one. Let alone the fact that only the kids understand the document and all of the bureaucratic stuff..

Anyone can find me the English translation for this early revolution song?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCdulHfuNLg&list=LL&index=113

Its such a bop, wish I could understand all of it, if not possible just the chorus would be great :)

I want to explore Syria!

Salam! I am an Italian girl and I am writing to you because a few days ago I read that you can get a visa to enter in Syria. I really want to visit and I even wrote my thesis of my degree about some archaeological sites in Syria just to make you understand how much your land is interesting for me! but I don't understand if it is still mandatory to have a guide to explore the country. I speak also arabic.. does anyone know anything more?

Origin of name هدائي?

This was used as a middle name by some of my family in the past. It was passed down almost like a family name. What is its origin? I cannot find much at all to do with it.

Aleppo Citadel

I can't say when this photo is taken but for sure it's by plane and I believe it's in early 1920s. You can see clearly the citadel has no roof, and Al Sarai building where it's completely destroyed now.

Going to Syria

Hey everyone,I have the chance to go to Syria soon but i am looking for advice because I am kind of scared. Info:I have Eu citizenship and a Russian one but the only problem is that my father is very well known for his hatered for the Assad Regime(when i say known i mean the people at the safara know my father by name and he is wanted everywhere in Syria).I might have posted a few things here and there but I have since deleted them. My question is do you think that I can go?Is there a chance that I might be detained (I’ve heard a lot of stories about this happening).

I wish to know before about Syrian culture before he lied to me

Guys let me tell you my story please don’t judge me because I already judge myself so no need to judge me just give me some advice please

So Syrian man saw me in my work place 2020 and he said that he likes me he ask me to meet him outside and he tell me you stole my heart so many story …… he’s a first man in my life

actually I’m not an easy going person but his trying hard to know me and he tell me about his family and about his life then he send me a picture when he’s in work and he go out from work bla bla he ask me to be his girlfriend and I say no i can’t because I’m a girl I wait until I married, he’s Muslim and I’m Christian, I come from a Christian background family and Im not Syrian, I ask him about that , a Syrian man can married a foreigner he said yes we can married bla bla and he said Muslim can married a chirstian girl bla bla In Islam I know that they don’t sleep with anyone before they married

so what I’m thinking he can not do something to make me feel bad and he promised me that he will not hurt me I don’t know why I believe this man blindly He tell me so many story , he’s living with his family and I’m living in accommodation so we meet one’s in the week sometimes one’s in the month , but we did everything and I lost my card

Then he ask me to meet him everyday I told him I can’t meet you everyday bcz of my job or every week i make it ones in the month sometimes we take more time to meet , I’m the one do that but he ask everyday to meet me and he text me everyday he was good , 2022 I stop to meet him because of my job , 2023 I meet him like 2 to 3 times only I really love him truly and deeply but I don’t have enough time to meet him all the time

2024 he tell me his going to married a woman from Syria I think family arrange marriage , almost 6 months now , he travel to Georgia to meet this woman and he text me , I love you and i didn’t reply him then he delete it But this man is still in my heart I love him truly and deeply ,, I pray to God if his not mine please remove him from my heart , because if he loves me truly he can not do that to me, but we are talking on WhatsApp almost 6 month i didn’t meet him
