I am working on an idea for a focus app and would like your feedback. The app would use your device's camera to track your focus during study sessions. Here is the idea:
It checks whether you are staying focused or getting distracted.
You would get feedback and reminders to stay on track.
All processing would be done offline to ensure privacy.
It could work with study tools like timers or planners.
Would you find this useful? Is there anything you'd like to see in such an application?
Any thoughts or suggestions to improve this idea would be highly valued. Thanks!

I have a week before exam and it is 5 subjects and I'm trying to get full. Only two chapters are coming as per each subject, I don't have much doubt in Maths, but last time it defeated me and I'm busy in other activities hence only 3 hours a day to study what should I do? I'm scared of only physics as the chapter coming is unknown to me not completely but, it is something I lack in. Can you suggest me any tips on this basis?
my exams are starting this Friday and I have zero preparation..i lost my interest in studies.i can't help myself. i am embarrassed to speak about this to anyone. someone, please help me to get back on track before it gets late.
I know it kinda sounds dumb but please listen.
Im at 8th grade and in my country, you need to take an exam to go to High school. They can also give your grade you from your school average, but all qualified schools take it with your exam grade (I hope i explained it right. English is not my native language.) For all this years, i never actually studied and now, i dont know how to study. I used to get average scores at math and science like 70-80 (sometimes 90 even) but we taked our first exams of the year some weeks ago and my average scores are now 13 at maths and 33 at science. My all verbal classes are quite good but numerical? Nah. I cant even listen to the classes anymore my all motivation are gone and all i do is sleep in the class. Everytime i actually try, i can even do better than the class nerds (Cocky alert). But after a while i cant focus. I was wondering if there is people who is struggling with the same problem.
Please give me some tips. I dont want to fail my math class like last year.
Not sure if this is the night place for this but I wanted some constructive critisicm/ feedback with an article writing assignment I have https://journalists.org.uk/erin-neal/2024/11/26/terabithia-pictures-premieres-powerful-new-short-film-the-other-birthday/ Does this read well, is the structure okay?
Hey everyone,
My exams are in 2 months (end of January 2025), and I'm looking for advice on optimizing my review strategy to ensure I can consolidate everything effectively before the last week of January.
Currently, I’m using FSRS on Anki Qt6 version 2.1.65, and I want to fine-tune the review intervals or any other settings to make the most of my time.
Specifically, I’m looking for:
Here are my current settings in the Anki deck
When I start studying my head starts to become a host show or it keep starting to chat a person to person conversation... And I can't keep focus on my studies and i procrastinate.... No matter how I control it loosen and kepp chatting HELP
I’m an 11th-grade cs (computer-science) student and it’s getting kinda hard for me to revise everything before exams so I’m trying to find a good app to take notes for my studies and I need something that’s easy to organize, works well for different subjects, and would be even more helpful if it allows adding diagrams, formulas, or images and I’ve already heard about some of apps like Notion, OneNote, and Evernote but im not sure which one is better for my needs and the feautures I'm looking for are is easy to organize, quickly find stuff later, works offline, sycn across devices and supports handwriting (optional)
So yeah if you’ve used any of them pls let me know!!
So when I have an upcoming exam (mid-sems, finals) I like to organise all my study material into a spreadsheet with the date I'll do them, the score I got, my percentage and mistakes I've made. When I say "study material", I really only mean practice exams and worksheets with problems that may be on the exam. I've only just started using this method at the start of this semester and I've noticed huge differences compared to last semester's performance.
My results for my mid-sem exams are (all above the mean and median btw cos I do engineering):
ENGG1700: 17/20 (85%)
ENGG1300: 26/30 (86.6%)
MATH1052: 49.5/50 (99%)
Anyways, as you can see I got a bit lazy and didn't do nearly as many practice exams as I should've, but in the end I still kinda slayed. That's because writing down my mistakes helped me better retain the information needed to correct them. Hope yall try this!

Question
Hey there, I’m a college student learning programming and I haven’t learn c and c++ and while I have till end of January to study for some basic things about them I just can’t find the motivation to sit my ass down and go through the videos and lectures my professor send us to study, I either get distracted easily or just don’t do it at all. Anyone got any tips on how can I motivate myself to study before I got a lot of homework piling up and getting a bad grade?
I'm currently taking a 70-hour course, and I’m struggling to figure out the best way to finish it while actually learning effectively. Any tips on time management, note-taking, or strategies to stay consistent and retain information?
I am a medical student and have just passed my first year, which by the way had enough hiccups because my professor didnt grade my finals paper appropiately and I had to waste 1.5 months re studying the same subject to only know 5 days before the supplementary exan that hey, I passed and dont have to give it.
Great! Now I suffer from depression and crippling self doubt with fear of my shitty luck. What if this whole ordeal repeats again? What if I am not capable??? I worked so hard and still was set back 1.5months from my classmates.
Fine, it's all over, but what now? I have tremendous portion to complete, along with tests withing days and weeks. But my ability to study? Almost nil, I just feel tired and lethargic, with my thoughts wandering off. I lost all my skills because of my mental health.
I want to study, I love medicine. But everything I try to makes me just want to go to bed and sleep (also it's winter...so yeah).
Please give me some tips or advice that can actually make me study again, and for longer and harder.
I desperately need it. I am lost.
I dont know what to do anymore. I literally live in the country with the worst school system for me. Because 99% of grading is based on memorising. Mostly none projects, essays, barely any presentation. We have to just read and memorise like 60 pages for 1 oral exam. And I cant focus on just reading and memorising things if you put a gun to my head. Im reading the text, but my mind is thinking of an entirely different thing and I feel like text is just going above my head, like its in background if you know what I mean. And also, one moment and Im trying to memorise the text and the other I unconsciously just start stabbing a orange with a screwdriver or some other stupid thing, like I didnt even notice I picked it up and started doing that. Any tips on how to fix, or just get better at this?
Quoting in essays can feel overwhelming, but once you know the basics, it’s easy! For short quotes (under 40 words), simply place the quote in quotation marks and add a citation immediately after. For example: “Success requires determination” (Lee, 2023, p. 18). For longer quotes, format them as block quotes—indent the entire quote, don’t use quotation marks, and include the citation at the end.
One thing to avoid is relying on cheap essays that might contain improper or plagiarized quotes. Always use trustworthy sources and ensure your quotes are cited correctly to maintain academic integrity. Proper quoting not only strengthens your arguments but also shows you’re serious about your work! 🎯

I have a genetics exam coming in 2 weeks. Its my ”real” university exam and im not sure how to study for it. There will be 20 chapters, each about 30 pages long. Any tips for me on how to study for it?
Thanks in advance!
Hello everyone, I am currently working on a project that is meant to help students learn by analyzing their learning process through different metrics/characteristics and effectively presenting the study material. I currently need it to be tested to determine usability. If you would like more details or to help me out, shoot me a private message.
Also its preferred that users are from North American based and is in college / highschool, since its the curriculum and school system we are most familiar with.

I'm graduating in the subject of Zoology, 5th semester. For the context, I'm a very very hardworking student, and I really make sure that I understand each and every concept very well, and I don't compromise on the quality of the study material for the source of my information. I make notes myself every single time by studying from various sources, and I don't rely solely on teachers. And not to brag, no one, NO ONE in my class really goes out of their way to understand things and rather rely on others to send them stuff etc. The rest of the semesters have still been good in terms of results, but in this semester I have faced very low marks in various subjects and it is now taking a toll on my mental health, while the rest of the students get them more than me and they literally don't even attend classes and study at the 11th hour, and infact I make many of them understand stuff. Even in the examination hall they keep annoying me and asking me answers. I don't cgeat myself and don't show others because I feel that is very unfair, but sometimes they eat my brain so much so that i am unable to focus on my exam so to make them shut up i sometimes help
The main thing I want to ask is what do i do now? I also have major lab exams in a few days and i have lost my every bit of motivation and literally haven't studied anything yet for that.. i am so so so tensed that i can't even express it I swear..please please someone help if you can please. i cried a lot because i gave my everything and the results made me feel sick to my stomach please help
Hey so I just started grad 11 and l've been getting really bad grades lately like a lot and I don't know what to do, I also been looking at videos dat are giving me tips and tricks on how to study right, like if I have an text coming I would start 2 weeks prior, and I have been doing that but it still doesn't work, i will forget things in my texts or still getting a bad grade even when I'm Pretty sure, I did Great in my texts, because I remember everything that I learnt and I also use the knowledge from the tests that I'm writing, but I still get a bad grade.
What should I do, and what am I doing wrong!
When writing peronal bullet points for a presentation, should the bullet points best contain only single keyword or short sentences? What is better according to you? And why? (The notes are only for me, there will be also a handout)
