Waiting to be picked up at Union Station

I'm taking a Peter Pan bus from Boston to Springfield to visit Amherst. I'm an 18yo girl and I'll be alone, I'll likely have some luggage with me too. I'll be waiting for somebody to pick me up in the afternoon, is it safe? Is there anywhere I should stay/avoid or anything I should look out for?

Fall activities

Recently moved to Springfield and have a friend visiting October 18-20. It's their first time ever being this far up north and I'm trying to find fall activities near by that we could do. Any suggestions or can't miss activities??

Can anyone help me? I am conducting Genealogy and need help finding the Wyland Family

My Father was stationed at Westover AFB in the early 70’s. He married a lady named Derryl Elaine Wyland .

They had a daughter Stephanie Lynn Ball. It is my understanding that the Patriarch of the Family would be Earl Joseph Wyland.

Again I would love to get in contact with someone from my family.

Can anyone help me ?

They lived 477 Allen Park Rd in the early 70’s.

Possible connections are :

Kerryl N Wyland & Craig E Wyland.

MGM Parking Garage?

Getting what I think is bad information that a. Ford F-150 (even with no lift) might be tight (height) to park in there.

8’ is standard parking garage height and a F150 is not even 7 ‘

Is this garage a normal garage?

Tia

Do you consider Springfield a walkable city?

Every time I've visited it seems to have really good urban fabric. Even the single family homes are usually on smaller lots and mixed in with multi families/apartment buildings. Decent amount of commercial districts as well. This is my view as an outsider obviously so I am wondering what someone who lives there actually thinks.

Facing Possible Eviction- Seeking Advice

Hello everyone,

I’m currently in a difficult situation and would really appreciate any advice. I’m 22 years old and live with my mother as an occupant in an apartment she’s been renting for almost 2 years. Unfortunately, she was recently served a notice to quit, with an eviction date set for November 2, due to not paying rent for over 2 months.

My mother mentioned that she’s in the process of finding a new place, but I’m really worried about the long-term impact of this eviction. When I brought up the fact that an eviction would stay on her record and make it harder to rent in the future, she told me that her credit is already messed up—so she’s not too concerned.

The part that’s really concerning me is that my name is also on the lease. I’m worried that the eviction might affect me as well, and I don’t know how to protect myself from any long-term consequences.

Does anyone know if this eviction could show up on my record, and if so, what steps I can take to avoid any impact? I’m planning to call the housing company to confirm if my name is listed on the eviction notice, but any additional advice on how to handle this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Looking for Moxie the Maine Coon

Hi, everyone. I have been window shopping for cats (I currently live in a pet-free dorm and cannot currently adopt), and I saw a very cute kitty named Moxie on AdoptAPet in the Springfield/Northampton area. I can no longer find them on the site, and I was hoping they were alright. Moxie was living in a multi animal household; unfortunately they are very stressed by animals and their owners needed to give them up for adoption. If they have been adopted or passed away, I would like to know if possible.

I'm Nick O'Malley, the weird food guy who's spent the past decade eating and reviewing The Big E for MassLive. Ask any anything!

Hi folks! My name is Nick O'Malley, and I'm a writer for MassLive who's had an obsession with The Big E for years now. (I’ll be answering your questions live Thursday, Sept. 19 from 12-1 p.m. EST)

For about 10 years, I've written a regular column called "I ate it so you don't have to" that focuses on quirky and weird foods. I've also covered The Big E in all its deep-fried glory and eaten almost every interesting food item I've laid eyes on over there. I'm also responsible for putting together the Big E Eater's Guide, which includes maps and recommendations for the entire fair.

I love talking about The Big E (and food in general), so feel free to ask me any burning questions about the fair, or food in general in Massachusetts.

Learn more about me and my work here: https://www.masslive.com/staff/nickjomalley/posts.html

That's a wrap for now, thanks everyone for your questions and we hope to do this again some time!

Carwash

Really random post but... does anyone have good recommendations for a "do-it-yourself" carwash that is relatively inexpensive. I've been needing to wash my car for a while now but I prefer one where I can go, get out of my car, and wash it myself. Looking for somewhere close to downtown Springfield or West Springfield ideally.

Lunch off I-90

We're going to be driving through Chicopee around lunchtime on the way home from Boston to Rochester on a Sunday in November. I was wondering where a good place to stop for a quick lunch with indoor seating was that is max ~10 minutes off I-90. We like really everything, but we don't eat out much so lately we've had a hankering for a Greek or Halal gyro, a reuben, or a burger. Especially local spots that are well-loved by your community that we can support! Thanks!

Looking to start an (offline) D&D (3.5/d20/Starfinder)/gaming group in Springfield, MA, to join yours or host mine. Various game options. Could adapt to most schedules.

Myself, and 1-3 others, are looking to host some form of rpg. You or I can run a game in our home, we have the space, or we can go to you (depending).

What options we have (if i'm running the game) will depend on how many people respond, schedules and what their interests are. I can do D&D (3.5, 5th is possible if i'm just a player), something in Gurps, or (preferably) a Starfinder/3.5 hybrid system. All settings are my own creation.

I have over 30 years experience running/creating/playing rpg's and tabletop wargames, mostly as DM/GM. We are looking to have a fun, quality role-playing experience, not a hack and slash. However, new players are also welcome to learn how it's done. This would be great for people looking to start their journey in rpg's.

People interested in playing; please contact me with your type of game preferences and availability.
OR
People running a game; know that there will be 1-3 of us. Please let me know the location, time and type of game.

Thanks for reading.
