Anyone able to help me get my vehicle somewhere i can work on it. Came to give someone a ride back home and the brakes went to hell. Pls I'm truly desperate and will pay what I can asap. Even a jack that's better than the one I have now would do. Prayers are always answered by good ppl and God will bless you.
I know this will sound odd, but how big is Hyvee inside the store compared to Walmart? I've lived here a little over 3 years, and have agoraphobia I am working to overcome. I've always done pickup. However I'm considering going inside. I am nervous because the last time I went inside a Walmart I developed tunnel vision and my hearing disappeared. I didn't feel panicky but people tell me it was apparently a panic attack...idk but that was almost 8 years ago and I haven't been inside a bigger store since. I just this past year worked my way up to gas stations. Real question...any insight for comparison is appreciated.
South side of town
Hi, I will be moving to Brookings for work in a few weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations on any apartment complexes (or individual apartments) that have good management? I am not seeing much on my internet search. Thank you!
Hello! I’m and 18 year old student from Lansing Michigan and have been working on an Analog Horror story that takes place in Brookings in the early 80s and would like to know more about the area for time accuracy!
I’m essentially just looking for what was around at the time as far as things to do, landmarks, and things like that. The only specific thing I would like to know is what did the Police seal and Brookings high school mascot look like at the time? Cause I’m assuming they’ve been redesigned since 84 so I was curious if there’s any pictures of it from then.
Thank you for your time!
What does everyone do with their free time around here??
Who’s all here? I’m wildly curious.
So I’m looking to get my phone working again was wondering what phone provider works best for the town, I’m in the north part of town if that helps in case it varies through out town
I am in Dallas Texas BUT my boyfriend is currently in the Brookings sheriff department. Would someone be willing to help me get out by signing his release forms.
He’s there for work and his birthday celebration got a little I have tried everything even trying to get a pizza delivered to get them to sign for him!
Please let me know if you can help
It seems my go-to for mower, maintenance and small engine repair is no longer in business. Anybody have any good suggestions?

Noticed there are a ton of huge American flags on a bunch of street corners. I’m probably being stupid, but are they there for any reason? Holiday I’ve never heard of? Thanks!
Edit: Yeah it’s flag day I’m just stupid. Literally googled a holiday calendar and missed it. My intellectual confidence is in shambles. Thank you all

Would anyone be interested in starting a social group in Brookings? Like a maybe monthly meeting where people who want to make friends can be introduced to each other. I was thinking really any age range from 18+. Let me know if any of you think this would be a good idea or if you would be interested.
New to town and looking for a good spot to get a haircut. I have gotten a mid to low fade in the past and like those styles. However, I know its not always the best option available. Does anyone know of a good spot and how much a usual haircut costs? I've been to great clips before but would like to seek other options first.

Hello!
What is it like living within one mile radius of the regional airport? How’s the noise level and air quality around it?
Please do share anything else you can think of regarding living in that area.
Thanks in advance!

Change in plans have us closer to the middle of the state. Leaving this here for future small farmer wanna be's like myself.
Hey all,
Life is moving us into the area and I may have the opportunity to start a small business, looking for ideas of needs in the North Eastern SD area.
We've been practicing growing things both green and feathery for awhile and would really like to provide food and nature for others while playing in the dirt. Thinking some sort of micro ag business. We cannot afford a lot of land so it needs to be space efficient. Maybe a vegi co-op, sprouting greens or fungi of some kind? Or would a flower farm do well there? Or maybe raspberries? I'm open to raising small livestock as well, if our new property allows such to be done in a clean and loving manner.
I don't want to directly or fully compete with other small business and don't need to get rich, just need some extra income. Would prefer to find an unfilled need and provide such. If you know of other small business I should be aware of please let me know, they are surely out there. I'll be contacting the Chamber of Commerce and SBA soon. Thank you for any recommendations, eager to join the community!
Hey,
I am considering moving up to SD (and Brookings specifically) because my job has basically fully transitioned to remote. This means that the absurd living costs of where I currently live do not make sense.
With an estimated salary of around 35k/year, how affordable/friendly is Brookings? Mind you, even though I currently live in a big city, I lived in a very rural part of Indiana throughout highschool and college so I know what is like. Maybe.
Anyway, just some friendly help and info would be great. Thanks
This is now a Cubby's appreciation sub. Thanks
Are there any bars in town that offer Coors Banquet on tap?
