I saw this link posted by SkinnyMedic on YT. I haven’t combed through it to see just how useful it is, but I’m mostly posting it as a reminder that the flip-side of firearms training is trauma first aid training ESPECIALLY stop-bleed. No shooter’s skill set is complete without it imo. SkinnyMedic does feature some good deals on medical supplies and information on how to use them. MARCH (massive hemmorage, airway, respirations, circulation, head injury/hypothermia) is a common method for assessing and administering first aid care in a critical situation. It’s a good idea to find some training on this because you never know when you may need to respond to an emergency!
Hey ya’ll
I’m fairly new to owning a firearm (about a year + but haven’t made it to the range much)
I have a Glock 17 and was hoping to get some ideas on flashlights, red dots… etc for home defense. I dunno if this is helpful info but there are no minors in the home and I only have one roomate, so I keep it in my bedside drawer with no lock.
Any tips would be great, thanks!
I have: Ruger AR556 with sling, Romeo 5 and front grip. Glock 43X for concealed carry Maverick 88 Canik TP9SF CZ75 SP-01 for home defense Tisas 1911A1 Savage 64
I’m considering
6 Light for AR, Protac 2 7. Knife, Civivi Elementum or Benchmade 940 8. Upgrade .22 Ruger 10/22
I have training and plenty of ammo and mags. I also have other gear but didn’t want to list out everything that isn’t applicable. Thanks friends!
I was able to put most of the lower together w the exception of the bolt catcher (I could NOT punch the roll pin in for the life of me) and got the upper built with a gunsmith since I don’t have a dedicated area to work on it at home. Super excited to take it out to the desert at the end of the month 🙏🏼
This afternoon, I noticed an unsettling series of thoughts. I had gone to a friend's land to familiarize myself with my first semi-auto handgun. I was reloading the magazines for the last bit of shooting, and I started to wonder if I should use of the last bit of ammo I had on me, or hold on to a full magazine 'just in case.'
I felt completely safe at this location. And, I don't believe I have nearly the training for this unfamiliar handgun to be a responsible choice in a life or death situation. I also have plenty of ammo at home, so there's no need to skimp on the little bit of training I can fit into my schedule.
Paranoia, overconfidence, and a scarcity mindset are all things I associate with the right's obsession with guns and violence. I was surprised to find them so accessible.
All this was before I saw a bunch of footage of cops beating up people in New York today.
Looking for reccomendations for optic cut service. Any leftists shops offer services?
I've been considering getting a revolver for my collection. This one intrigued me because of the interchangeable cylinder and the ability to use three different calibers .38/.357/9MM. I'm aware Taurus doesn't necessarily have the best reputation for QC consistency. I've looked at some Rugers as well (SP101 and LCR both in 9mm).
I've help introduce/teach about a dozen or so people to shoot(ing). My collection currently consists of rifles 10/22; Ruger American Rimfire; AR in .223 Wylde; Ruger PCC. Pistols: (Glock Gen 3 17/19 with Advantage Arms .22LR conversion kits for both ; 1911; Beretta M9. But would like to teach with a revolver as well. Having all of my pistols share ammunition is a big plus and 9mm is fairly inexpensive. Also, since I'm in California having the ability to shoot different calibers without the need of jumping through extra hoops is quite appealing.
Long story short, anyone have advice or thoughts to share? Thanks in advance.
Hello! I've been a lurker for a while and appreciate the community and finally getting around to padding out my gun collection a bit and was hopeful about getting some input and advice.
I'm currently looking to add a 9mm PCC to my collection both as a fun plinker + hd tool that will be easy to teach my wife and sister to shoot on and cheap to run ammo through. My thoughts is I'd prefer something that's relatively easy to source parts/mods for and is reliable and uses Glock mags for easy accessibility
I'm currently looking at/eyeing the Extar and was also looking at the Ruger PC. I'd very much like to keep the cost for the gun itself under 700 if possible and am also very open to building it myself (i'd probably prefer this tbh ) but I'm very out of date in shooting/sourcing parts I'm not even sure where to get started to look and would appreciate any input or resources or advice especially about any 9mm PCC options I might be missing.
My primary values for a pcc are -
There seems to be a lot of different PCC options out there but most seem to be very expensive or very cheaply made ( Hi-point/kel-tec ) or very lacking in customization options ( Chiappa M1-9 ...so very tempting )
I'd prefer it to be pistol length (6.5-10" barrel range ) with a brace and will get a tax stamp if its needed due to legislation change or just to make it easier to shoot
Leaning heavily toward glock mags as I'm currently considering a glock or dagger for an EDC carry weapon for something a little more customizable than my current CZ-75 BD (input on that more than welcome as well)
Ty in advance for your time.
I know that most of y'all live and play in circles where there are more than enough of the people who are morally or philosophically-opposed to many of the things which we as left-leaning or liberal peoples tend to embrace (LGBT, Women's, Worker's, civil peoples' rights, etc). I think that there are quite a bit of those opposed people who've voiced their opinions on things regarding the second amendment to the constitutions, most of them being things that revolve around the rhetorical subject of preventing "tyranny" from establishing itself in The United States.
One of the things that I like to try and absorb from the people with whom I like to associate (many/most of who hate people like me, unfortunately) think that we are on the brink of some impending civil conflict that will require the "people" to rise up with their small arms and "take back" the country. They throw the word "tyranny" out like it's candy at Halloween. I hear it come up on a frequent basis. Part of me thinks that it's a placeholder for anything that the individual seems to oppose, but I think that there are probably some "good faith" attempts to categorize it.
FOR EXAMPLE - 1) There is a large group of people who believe that the DNC is taking part in rigging elections to help Democrats win (see: 2020 election "big lie" conspiracy theory), or
the theory that Joe Biden and his family are obtaining personal benefit for themselves and using their power in the government to stop "totally valid and in no way politically-motivated" criminal prosecutions from happening. I've also seen theories about
gun confiscation and gun control in any form, (even though combat firearm ownership is at its highest rate in American history)
all formal secular education as a form of purposefully-radicalizing children to leftist/Marxist belief systems.
MY QUESTION: What are some LEGITIMATE examples of so-called "tyranny" (that people believe in good faith) that you are hearing from your right-wing associates/friends/family/opponents in the world? (not just Breitbart buzzwords)
EDIT: added parentheses sentence segment in "MY QUESTION" part
CZ P09 and a Zastava m90 along with a few fun mags. + a soviet afghan cap:)
I was about to purchase a XD9 tactical which is the biggest full-size pistol that fits my hands in CA. I would keep this in a hidden safe. But then I started wondering if it would be better for my specific goal to carry a hellcat pro at all times in the house instead.
All input is welcome. Thanks!

Like it says on the tin. What’s a good beginner handgun to start a collection/shooting practice with? I’d imagine price, availability, and ammo availability would be pretty important.
Opinions?
I have a large head (4xl in motorcycle helmets for those familiar) and I want to get better hearing protection. Right now I just have some super cheap over ear that hardly block any sounds so I have been doubling up with foam plugs.
I am curious for opinions:
What are people’s views on the Zion-15 (ignoring the absolutely problematic name) given Israel’s current actions?
I was contemplating one before the Israeli invasion of Palestine, but given the situation, I am reticent to buy it, though it is manufactured in Pennsylvania.
However, I was told that the gun is better quality than the Ruger AR-556 MPR, the S&W M&P Sport, or the Springfield Armory Saint Victor.
Does anyone know where I can get into contact with the New Mexico chapter of the organization? And if there isn’t one established does anyone know how to go about establishing one? Thanks
Signed up and tried accessing the forum, login isn’t working? Tried emailing no response yet. Anyone in the SD chapter that knows when meetings are?
Howdy comrades. I'm in a bit of an argument with my 10.5" AR pistol right now, and the new adjustable gas block I installed is rendering my semi-auto, a bolt action. I understand that it could be too far open, or closed. I went through 60 rounds today trying to get it honed in before giving up. I hate the thought of having to go back to my standard gas block, as I plan on running this platform suppressed. It's a Kaw Valley adjustable block if that helps any. Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance. Stay safe y'all.
