Ski Jumping is a sport in which the skier goes down a take-off ramp (called the inrun) in a unique aerodynamic position. When the skier reaches the take-off he jumps, and attempts to land the furthest down in the outrun. In addition to length points, you also get judged on style, the 5 judges give points on a 1-20 scale.

Haven't watched ski jumping in a while and came back for this season. Only watched it a bit in the mean time, but before I stopped watching, Robert Johansson was consistently towards the top. But now hes not even making it to the main competition. What did I miss?
China - Song Qiwu (country debut)
Finland - Henri Kavilo,Jaarko Matta,Vilho Pallosari (home group)
Poland - Jakub Wolny (replaces Maciej Kot)

I haven't heard anyone talking about it throughout summer and autumn, but I noticed right in the middle of the first competition that Austria had 7 jumpers, and that Slovenia had 6 despite there being no way that they got the extra one from the continental cup. So are the 2023/24 quotas of 5-6 jumpers maximum over after just a season? The extra quota for the home team appears to have remained at 4, though.
Edit: Not 6 Slovenes, but 7 Germans is what I noticed, and thought old quotas are back; did not know about the JWSC ones.
The squad will be the same as Lillehammer (Stoch,Kubacki, Wasek Zniszczol),but Jakub Wolny will take the place of Maciej Kot

Only real difference will be Norway as Joekerud Strand,Pedersen,Oestvold and Joergensen will not be apart of the squad
Hi there!
Something that should have been here a long time ago is finally on our subreddit - rules! You can always find them in a sidebar widget, and it would be really nice if you all take a look at them.
In addition to a few obvious rules, I would like to emphasize two that are particularly important to us.
Do not post links to pirated content. For example, to illegal ski jumping streams.
Do not post replays/pictures of falls before being absolutely sure the athlete is ok.
If you think more rules should be added, please let me know in the comments!

I saw Rautionaho and Valto jumping with Peltonens today, a reasonably known cross country ski maker. I googled it quickly and found this article about Peltonen trying to get into the jumping game. (English version is below the Finnish)
