It’s quite sickening that every Sunni I come across has always said something negative about us Shias.
“Oh why do you all beat yourselves up, why do you guys pray to a rock. Why do you hold Imams to the same regard as the Prophet (PBUH)”.
Yet do we Shias ever speak poorly and say why they shave there mustache and keep there neck beard? And look like clowns?
Or why they fold there hands like they’re hugging themselves?
More importantly if they ever taught us we should say who is Umar? Who is Abu Bakr?
I am a proud Shia but it’s sickening that these Sunnis are constantly trying to drag us down.
I have nothing else to say but body text is required.
Asalam alaykum brothers and sisters,
I am curious of the Islamic rulings about if a husband or a wife, let’s say for example another person looked at their spouse and they feel jealous. I hope this makes sense? I did hear but vaguely that this is not good? It goes by a certain name but I can’t find it and would like more information from anyone who is familiar with this topic. I believe this is firm that a spouse should not be jealous when a man or women look at their spouse because they should have trust and the feeling of jealousy. I understand to an extent, yes of course one can feel this way because “how dare they look at my wife” kinda thing but still seems wrong? So yes this is my reason for this topic but I would love for more information. I believe this went by name of ghira? Something like so but I may be wrong.
I would love for someone to share some sources or reply below! Jazakallah khair
Him praying in the mosque of Khalid bin waleed (la)
In many Imam Barghas there are tons of drama and politics? Why is this case? Are people so miserable that they want to drag others down to their misery?
How can we ever grow if communities are constantly fighting each other?
I have not seen cases where the Sunnis ever cite Al Kafi or other Shia books. In comparison, I know that on this subreddit, Shias cite al-Bukhari and other Sunnis books to argue for Shia Islam.
So I'm not having a good feeling about this that has happened twice the same day, my tasbhee broke whilst i was doing dhikr in my asr prayer today, I didn't pay any attention to it at that time, i fixed it, and now as the isha time came close i did my prayer and was on tasbhee, it broke again in my hands, IDK what is it, IDK if Allah's anger with me or something, i prayed for it again and tomorrow i will give sadaqa too. I'm just worried :(
Assalamualaikum! Hope you're all doing well. I'm looking for feedback on creating a platform for Shia people. I've noticed many in our community struggle to find suitable partners.
We have open platforms like Shiamatch that are popular, but because they're free, I've seen inactive profiles and unresponsive users. Now that AI is entering our daily lives, things might change!
A platform enabling Shia individuals to quickly post and receive responses, similar to an instant messaging service, could significantly improve efficiency. Those interested are welcome to participate.
Please give your feedback on this idea to build something useful for our community!
Why were we created to worship him? A lot of the good ones suffer the most and if Allah loves us, he wouldn’t allow that. Sorry I’m just very down and sad. I didn’t choose to be in this world. So why bring us to this world and allow for us to suffer?
For those who have kids who have both Sunni and Shia parents, how have you found their upbringing to be? Does the bond equate to being closer to their beliefs? Is it stable? I know kids these days are from the modern era and probably spent more time on video games than their faith but how have you found educating them and teaching them about your guys’ beliefs?
For those living in CAN/US, how do Shias find potential partners for marriage? Mosques in my city aren’t very active in this regard, also my community (Iraqi) isn’t huge where I live. How does it work in your cities?
Of course Shia Islam is the true Islam and didn’t form after Muhammad (Saww), what I mean is from history, did Jafari become a recognised school (since the truth of Shi’ism finally could spread because of less oppression) before the hanafi school formed?
Not recognised as in being accepted by the non Shia but I mean as being recognised as a “sect” of islam
Asking because I wanna know if it’s accepted that Twelver Shi’ism existed before the first Sunni madhab
Salam Everyone,
As the title shows, alhamdulillah I am having the opportunity to meet Shaykh Ishaq Fayadh. There is also the chance of meeting Sayyid Sistani, but unfortunately due to his declining health (may Allah preserve his health and lengthen his life), there is a high chance that the meeting will be canceled.
With such an opportunity to meet their eminence, and with the amount of knowledge and wisdom they have stored in their minds, it's tempting to ask a question that none can answer but only people at their level. What kind of question can that be? If anyone has any suggestions, that would be wonderful. I'm sure many of you will bring up good questions, but I will likely only choose one or two since their time is valuable and they keep the meetings short. JazakumAllah Khayr for all your help!
Salam everyone,
My question is basically the title. Does anyone know if double first cousins count as Mahram? For those who haven't heard the term before, it's basically when a person is related to a first cousin from both sides of the family. Due to sharing the exact same grandparents and ancestry, they genetically are considered to be half siblings. I myself have had my double first cousin show up on my DNA test as a half sibling, but my parents showed up as their aunt and uncle respectively.
I follow Sayid Sistani, and I'll probably ask his office (although in my experience they're slow to respond) but I'm also curious to know of everyone's thoughts or if there's perhaps different rulings, or if people have difffent cultural attitudes on a situation like this. I believe pair of cousins who have dads/moms that are identical twins, would gentetically be half siblings as well.
I apologize if this has been asked before, I couldn't find a similar question under the search function.
jazakallah khair

Hi guys , I'm a sunni and I've never been to any imam bargha (Shias mosque). What's it like inside? I mean what are the majority differences between the two why Shias call it imam bargha instead of mosque ? Do Shias allow sunnis to enter imam barghas ?
For context if someone doesn't know taweez is generally a locket type of thing which is put on kids
Taweez contain some ayat of holy quran written or the whole quran in a small book format.

I am planning to perform ziarat Ashura for 40 days for the first time Insha'Allah and I just wanted to ask those who've performed it, what are the wonders that happened to you while you performed or after you performed it,, it would really help me as I'm in a tough spot right now
Al-Salam Walaykom brothers and sisters
I'm looking for a PDF copy of Mashariq Al-Anwar and Bihar Al-Anwar in English, Alhamdulillah my Arabic is strong but English is my stronger language and having a second reference document would be really beneficial.
Thank you
Salaam everyone!
aH so blessed to have an opportunity to go for Umrah and Ziyarat soon inshallah. I'm going with my family (no group or travel agency) just us going. I've been to Umrah as a middle schooler, and have little memory of my experience, but I've never been to Ziyarat. I just wanted to ask, given we're going ourselves, what are places we must go visit, the techniques of Umrah and Ziyarat we should know and other must haves we need to keep in mind. Any information/advice is great! Also, for my ladies where are you finding affordable abayas...
