If you are directing insults or foul language to another member of the community you'll probably be banned without warning.
Advocating or suggesting or joking about inflicting physical harm on others will probably also result in banning.
No Commercial, Business or "Classified' Posts
Commercial posts or "classified ads" (buying, selling, trading, giving unwanted things away for free), help wanted, job wanted, housing wanted, housing for sale or rent, for-profit events) not permitted. No surveys.
It's great to ask for recommendations ("Who's a good plumber? What's a good garage for Toyotas?") and it's great to ask for job seeking advice.
It is okay to advertise a local benefit/charitable event where proceeds go to a cause in the Santa Cruz County community.
No Nudity/Exhibitionism or Nudity for Shock Value/Personals or Dating Ads
There are more appropriate places to display your body or your primary sexual attributes (or those of your SO or some random stranger you got a pic of), so do it in those places. Posting NSFW is not enough; this is largely a community discussion group. Posting nudes for shock value is also not what this sub is about.
No nudes ever? At the discretion of the mods. If you get a shot of a parade of naked protestors marching down Pacific Avenue, that's not shock value: that's Santa Cruz.
Personals or Dating posts are better suited in personals or dating subreddits, there are more than enough to meet your appetites in that regard elsewhere on Reddit.

Where it at?
Tried several recommended solutions after searching the usual places, nothing seems to help. so . . . help! Thx in advance.
Thank you SFGate for paing attention to this important issue!
Hi all, hopefully this doesn't fall foul of the no self promoting rule here as it's not for myself but rather for a local non profit (although I am involved in the non profit), if it does please let me know.
I've seen a few posts in the past looking for opportunities to volunteer, and I've mentioned Santa Cruz Shakespeare each time, but we haven't really had a well set up online signup form before now.

I'll be up at the theater every saturday 10am-2pm, and we offer ticket credit for helping out (each 4 hour shift gets you a free ticket, up to 8 total can be earned by volunteering)
Hopefully I'll see you up there!
My two young girls have been begging to do tide pools for some time.
I saw this post recently and it looked great.
I surf around Jacks and Hook. The tide looks minus .7 feet tomorrow in the AM. Is that low enough to see some fun stuff around 34th-38th? Or anywhere better? This is new for us but we’re reading all the do’s/don’ts on how to walk and not disturb the critters.
Please :)
Saw this duck in the in the pile on the west side of the jetty. Seems like it’s not feeling too good. Got close and it didn’t move.
Lately there are fewer and fewer places to receive a CRV refund. Hopefully this will change soon???

Any events? Bars? Clubs? Activities? Or where should I be looking for events around the area?
I'll be in town all next week, car will be full of boards and I hate strapping them so I'm sacrificing bringing my bike. Just looking for a cruiser or beater with working brakes that I can cruise around on in town. I'll have multiple locks with me, so I can lock it up when I am out and about.
Staying in seabright, DM me if you have one I can borrow! Would rather not rent
Many thanks

I want to get into karate (as an adult). Any recommendations you can give / experiences you’ve had with martial arts schools in Santa Cruz? Doesn’t even have to be karate specifically
I love this aspect of the town but I fear that it won’t always be this way. What do y’all think?

4/19/24 At Seabright Beach with the family. Right next to the kids we find huge shards of glass. WTF! On our way out I see a few glass beer bottles thrown in the bushes.
This is unacceptable.
Can we have a cop patrol the beach and hand out fines for glass? Perhaps we can pay him with revenue from the fines and once there's no more glass on the beach cop can move on to doing other cop things.
I have a messed up trap muscle from kitchen work. Does anyone have any recommendations in town? If it’s really good I’ll go to San Jose
hey public works, get your head out!
I was driving into Capitola, off the 41st exit. From Soquel to 41st there was a lot of police, and ambulance, and a tow truck. I haven't seen or heard anything. I wanted to know if everyone made it out ok.
Stole this question from another city’s sub
And where can I get a decent light roast?
There was a really cute girl today at Safeway West Side that I really wanted to ask her for her number but was driving when we made eye contact so this is my Hail Mary:
If you were the girl in black riding boots @ Safeway tonight at 9:30ish can you go back to the store tomorrow at the same time so I can ask you in person - I don’t want be creepy/cringe but you seemed really cool 😭👍
