Anyone else had to make this decision and choose one or the other? Love to get some insights into making this decision for myself.
Hello! I visited campus today with my son and really liked our tour. I wanted to get some honest input from current students. He will be a 17 year old freshman, from San Diego. Interested in environmental science and journalism. Thank you!
Hiii does anyone know I should most likely hear back from csumb with a decsion?? thanks
has anyone had their Middle Class Scholarship suddenly removed recently from their financial aid? apparently, they don’t give it to “4th year” students, which isn’t fair
Hello! does anyone know if you can receive packages at housing during fall break? the email about reduced operating hours was unclear. Thank you for your help in advance!

Parent of a prospective student here. CSUMB is one of my child’s top choices due to being a smaller campus and relatively close to home. My question is about inclusivity for neurodivergent students.
Can any of you who have requested services or accommodations (housing and/or academic) speak to your experience working with the disability office and others on campus? Have you felt supported by the school and other students?
Hello Everyone. I am a transferring to CSUMB from MPC as a junior. I am going for Software Engineering and was wondering what classes to take for spring semester 2025. I met with the counselor and he recommended me take CST 300 which is the major ProSeminar, but I've been told you are suppose to take at the end. Right now, I have CST 336(Internet Programming) & CST 338(Software Design). I don't know what else to take other than electives since the other cores are closed or take UBD/UDD/UDC classes.
Thank you so much!
I'm having trouble getting a hold of the computer science counselor and am being told different information. I'm feelinf anxious theyre just saying things to get me to apply but not actually address my concerns. Im not sure if anyone else had similar issue but how long do you think itd take to finish a bach in cs while missing a single class for the breadth requirements?
Hi everyone, never really used reddit before and I know the semester is nearly over. But have been looking for friends. I have found it very difficult as a transfer student to find and make friends, especially living on East campus.
Has anybody received their middle class scholarship yet? I was told it would be distributed in November but it still shows as pending. Also, does anybody remember around what time you received it last year? Thanks in advance!
Is this a possibility? We have an alumni willing to help but just wanted to know if this was ok as we couldn’t find a time that fit our schedule.
Hi! I’m sure you all got letters with puzzle pieces delivered to you recently if you live in Area 1. I have been trying to collect 7 pieces, and assume that there are a lot of people not participating in the “Mini Monte Mayhem” SHRL Programming Board Event. If anyone wants to perhaps donate me their puzzle piece (I need 6 more)! I can trade for snacks (chips / candy), protein bars, protein shakes, stickers—literally anything—just let me know. I live in Manzanita, but I can walk over wherever to pick up / trade. Or, if you want to give it to me out of the kindness of your heart (lmfao), it would be greatly appreciated. I lowkey just want the prize, and was considering going door to door asking in my building, but I’m kind of busy, and a bit too lazy right now. DM me or you can respond to this post for negotiations! 🫡
Me and my roommates are starting to look for more local spots to eat/things to do because we have mainly been to chain restaurants and tourist spots. Anyone got any suggestions? Open to anything, timing suggestions are also appreciated
Hello everybody, I just wanted to quickly ask about the course load and difficulty of Genetics and Intro to GIS/GPS with Simon Titen and Scott Lydon respectively. I've been using GIS for two years, but Rate my professor raised some concerns about workload and not so much learning GIS, and I just want to make sure I put in the work to do well in those two. Any comment no matter how short is appreciated, thanks!
Hey y'all! I just recently enrolled in my classes for Spring 2024 and have one online class I got waitlisted for. I know that people often attend the first class if they're on the waitlist for an in-person class; do you do the same online to let the professor know you're still interested? Should I reach out to them before the semester starts by email? Any advice or stories about similar experiences and what worked for you would be much appreciated!! :)
Housing gave my son Otter 5 despite us requesting Otter 7.
We chose Otter 7 because he is 4 hours from home and he needs to eat on the weekend.
They are starving him and won’t fix the error. Anyone else have experience with this? Do we have any options?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has taken the “From Gregorian Chants to Hip-Hop” class taught by Violet Cavicchi Munoz? If so, how was it? Just wanted to know! Thank you!
I last minute decorated my door and decided to hand out candy but no one came by, only 2 kids ☹️ did they all go to another neighborhood? Guess I’ll have candy for breakfast lol
As you may have read the title, my id card is taking its to open the doors now. It used to be asap now its like i have to put it everywhere on the black censor thing. Anyone else have this issue?

I live in main campus and last night and today I’ve smelled smoke like from a fire, anyone else smelled this and/or know anything about it?
Hey all. Would anyone be down to go for a walk and have coffee? I know there are hiking groups or clubs for students but since I’m not transferred in as a student just yet, I wanted to set up something small for a little group.
Hi guys I'm a new student looking for friends I'm going to be either a business major or computer science. Is there anyone want to add me on socials? I got insta, discord I'm fine with all sexes just looking for friends : ). I'm going to be on campus housing.
don’t worry about arguments/difference not going to talk about that…
My question is, for people who don’t live in the Monterey area. How are you voting? Did you guys get your ballot from a family member and brought it to you here or did you change the area.
So I am living on east campus. There is a neighbor living on the street behind mine that walks near our unit and frequently walks with her dog unleashed. (doggo looks very friendly) but I’ve heard her cussing and yelling at the dog multiple times while I was in the garage. She’s let her dog poop next to our path and on the dirt island by our driveway without cleaning it up. I feel it’s pretty ridiculous and lazy since we are very close to the dog park at Schoonover. The guidelines tell us to speak to our neighbors when there is an issue before escalating to housing staff. I don’t really feel comfortable asking her about it since she is already showing signs of aggression to her pet. Is there a rule I’m overlooking that allows owners to walk their dogs out of the dog park without a leash?
I am an older student living in east campus. I originally applied with the hope of getting a single room but I was unfortunately given a double. I understand that there was a housing shortage so I thought I could make things work. I'll be honest, I'm struggling. My roommates are okay but I don't feel entirely comfortable and I'd be lying if I said I didn't have an issue with their hygiene practices. So my question is, are you allowed to change assignments after the semester? I have the same assignment for next semester listed on my housing dashboard but I was hoping to see if anyone had ever had any luck changing? It's honestly causing so much stress.
What, if anything do they require you to provide to prove your residency?
Thanks in advance!
